    Awesome demonstration of the inductive coupling properties and I have always wanted to try Tesla's pancake bifilar coil. Looking forward to the progress on these experiments.

    Cool build. thanks for sharing. Good way to send solar through a glass window when drilling holes through walls is not an option.

    Besides parallel cap at ZVS output the right one to match the load makes a big difference in performance. I have 100nF parallel with receiving coil.
    Thanks

    Do you think a bifiler coil can create scaler waves? They say scaler wave can travel farther without any loss of power.

    Same thing I was thinking a few days ago an can be used for many application just adjust the height of the coil to a stable voltage that we can use.

    Like other have said, it would be great to see how efficient the coupling is, and how much the ZVS driver input current increases with increasing bulb brightness.
    I'm considering using a dual bifilar coil setup as a means of rotary power coupling with a relatively small gap. I'm betting this would work well... time to build.

    How did you build those coils? Are they superglued together?

    Anyone know how to make it or make a video step by step instructions and what is needed to make it thank you

    I think you misunderstand its function as a conduit. You were supposed to tune it to its resonant frequency. It would have auto-coupled to the next one. Good design though!!

    Is it easy to make that bifilar coil? I just bought 500 feet of 16g wire, very similar looking to what you used. Did you use super glue between convolutions?

    • @blackchisel97
      @blackchisel97  8 ปีที่แล้ว

      All required is a little patience and of course, some wire. It is easy and yes, couple drops of crazy glue to hold each turn in place. Energy transfer is very efficient but don't expect more out than in. It was just an experiment, not a blueprint for COP>1

      blackchisel97 You told no lie when you said it takes patience. It was hard at first but once you get started it is easy. I made a jig but found out that was a waste of time. It is easier to just do it the slow way.

      himanshu ghadia Capacitor is 220nF/400V, toroid from computer PSU, approx. 20 turns of 18ga magnet wire.

      njclimber.com Put metal plate on top, of cooker, coil on top of a plate, start cooker and quickly remove metal plate.

    I see obviously a method of wireless transmission of electricity. I would bet that this technology is being used already in the wireless charging systems now available. But, I do not know this for sure. Great video. Thank you.

    If you flip it over does it stop?

    • @blackchisel97
      @blackchisel97  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      No, it doesn't affect coupling. Operating frequency of ZVS depends on the coil inductance and capacitor value.

    Didn't tesla have giant one of these in his lab 6-ft - 10ft in diameter, I'd bet that's how he made his florescent tubes light from across the room. upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/8/87/Teslathinker.jpg
