I first heard this song 3 days before my 17 year old cat was scheduled to be put down because he was dying of kidney disease. I cried my eyes out because of the lyrics. I've since bought this album on vinyl and CD. One of my all time favorite songs.
This song is a huge staple to why I like Volbeat so much. They push their genre and cover a lot of other ones. This ones sounds more country than rock, and Evelyn more metal than otherwise. I love that about them.

Lzzy has a great voice, but it wouldn't fit in this song. Her voice is fantastic for long winded screams and growls, but it would be missing the needed country type twang that fits so well in this song. Maybe she could learn Danish and join in on The Garden's Tale?
