Weird you uploaded this! I have guppies and no air stone and I was asking myself last night ‘I wonder if they need an air stone’ and I was going to look on TH-cam last night but forgot, come on TH-cam today and it’s the first video I see😂👍🏼
Hi. Personally I run them 24/7, however, when I had a number of tanks in my bedroom, all the airstones went off at 10pm and came back on at 8am. That worked fine 👍🏻
Quick question. How do i know if there's too much oxygen in my tank? I tried looking it up but it always shows how do I know if it doesn't have enough. I just wanna make sure my fish will be perfectly fine especially since i have two that are gonna give birth really soon one of which is a guppy the size of a balloon from all the babies in her. Honestly i don't think she's gonna make it after giving birth but I'll try my best to keep her alive
yes, but it'll be noisy and won't oxygenate the water as much if it had lots of little bubbles from a stone. Will create lots of splashing on the surface though.
@@FishKeepingAnswers hi. I had about 5 and now with babies there are about 30 with more eggs visible You once did a video saying the numbers that could be kept in different sized tanks and I think the number was quite high in a 3/4 gal tank? I was wondering if I should be dividing them up into a second tank or just let them remain where they are?? K
Is it possible? Yes, but you will have poor circulation, a thick film on the surface, and eventually, stagnant water 😕 Don’t make things harder for yourself 😉

Must be fate 😜
I'd argue yes. The benefits are so huge, you'd be silly not too.
Hi, do you keep the airstone on 24/7? Or can you run it only at night for example?

I'm a new fish keeper and trying to figure out if I should get an air stone for my chili rasboras. This was helpful - thank you!
Definitely add an airstone. It will give you essential water circulation, surface movement and increase dissolved oxygen levels in the water 👍🏻
Thanks for sharing your knowledge in such an easy way. 😊
You’re welcome 🫶🏻

Water can only hold a finite amount of dissolved oxygen, and the amount it can hold varies with temperature. I don't believe you can have too much!
@@FishKeepingAnswers thanks
Can i use airpump without airstone?
Yes 👍🏻

Hi Richard. You didn’t tell me how many shrimp I can keep in a 3/4 gallon tank😀😀😀 K
Hi. I would start with 6 to 10 and see how they get on. Glad to hear your yellows are doing well 👍🏻

My guppies are calm when i turn off the air pump but when it’s on, they swim frantically. What’s wrong? Do air pump stress guppies?
Not in my experience. Can you turn the air down a bit and see if that helps?
more oxygen in the water has this effect.
Do neocaridina shrimp like a air stone
Yes 👍🏻
I hab a question with my AirStone, why does the cable and the USB of it heat up really fast even though its new?
Honestly, that doesn’t sound good. I would return it to the store 😕
i was wondering, i would like an all natural tank without any filters or airstones, just the lights.
is this possible?

I use a sponge filter from Aquarium Co-op...kill two birds with one airstone 😏
Great thinking. Wish we had that filter in the UK 😏
@@FishKeepingAnswers - you can just put a tube over the airstone and cut a hole in a sponge, put the airstone in it.
you grass in terrible condition, you need CO2
😂 CO2 won’t help. I need to trim it and add fertiliser. CO2 will just make it look worse.
