Would it be possible for you to make a pdf copy of the TR3 Installation Manual available for download? This video is great but before buying this hitch I want to review the full manual carefully to ensure compatibility with my trailer. Thank You!
@@CamcoManufacturingdoes that mean you continue to tighten the thumbscrew with a chisel? Or do you have to go back prior to that step and start with the thumbscrew at 6 or 6.5 turns?
The recommended starting of 5 turns of the thumb screw and then tightening it up another half turn seemed to get mine very close...if not perfect. Front fender measured the exact same before and after installation....rear fender dropped 1/2 inch. Everything level.
I would like to know as well Camco. What is the life expectancy of the sway control material and is that wear item (consumable part) going to be replaceable in the future?
The brake lining is not replaceable. When the sway control is fully engaged driving down the road, it might move back and forth maybe a quarter inch or so... Meaning, that brake lining that is used in the sway control will not see anywhere close to as much wear as the brakes on your vehicle will. So, it should last quite a long, long time (We've not had one wear out yet). If for some reason it does wear out and it is still under warranty (5 years), we'll send you a new head. - Scott
No specification given in the instructions. I would do 70 ft lbs. The tilt......The recommended starting of 5 turns of the thumb screw and then tightening it up another half turn seemed to get mine very close...if not perfect. never saw him tighten up the brackets after he installed them saying loosely tighten nut onto bolt bracket?
How do you transfer more weight forward. And why are you not answering questions.
Sorry about that, jimblissit. Increasing the head angle will increase the weight distribution. - Scott
Be careful messing with that adjustment too much. Mine stripped out. Had to use a grade 8 nut as a spacer.

This is great, but the r3 i have has numbered od shaped metal pieces that do not sit right. Would be nice to see it set up
How much torque on the sway bolt is suggested?
There is no torque requirement for the sway control bolt. Simply hand tighten it until the desired sway control is achieved. - Scott
Appeoximately what angle should the bars be toward the ground for maximum distribution

Yes this method actually ended up working perfectly for me
Is the “brake lining” sway control replaceable and how often will it need to be replaced

What is the torque on the A frame bar brackets? How do you select the tilt of the head?
No specification given in the instructions. I would do 70 ft lbs. What is the socket size needed for the two bolts that need to be tightened to 260 ft-lb.
1 1/4 inch socket. And if needed, Harbor Freight sells a big wrench to hold the other side while you torque the nuts so the bolt doesn't spin.
Which hitch do I need? Do I go by tongue weight or trailer weight? Is it possible to have too heavy of a hitch .... or too light?
the instructions in this video are a bit different than in the printed manual…
They are indeed. The printed instructions leave a lot to be desired; this video is actually more clear.
I'm assuming they're measuring to the top of the trailers ball coupler?
That is correct. - Scott
Love how you mention "torque to 260ft-lbs" and then proceed to tighten the hitch bolts with an impact 😂

What trailer frame sizes is this compatible with? I have an aluminum car hauler with a 2"x8" frame.
