This video is about one of my favourite sounding engine the Alfa Romeo 2.5 L V6. This engine is quite famous for having powered the insane Alfa Romeo 155 V6 Ti DTM/ITC. The V6 was able to produce 480 hp in its last version (the one of the car you see in this video) at 11900 rpm (!!!) and it was able to reach a top speed of 300 km/h.
You can see and hear the sound of the V6 engine mounted on the 1996 155 DTM while making a warm up and then you can hear it in action mounted on a hillclimb prototype car, called Juno Racing Ch2 (without sound restrictors).

Thanks! That prototype is powered by the same engine. It was first powered by an Honda 4-cylinder but the the owner, who has some Alfa 155 DTMs, decided to put inside the prototype the V6 engine from one of the 155s
The engine looks like a PRV v6. 155 had a PRV engine in 1996.

@SchnelleBasis... 80-90s cars are unmatched, Now there's too many distractions from performance, The only reason modern cars are faster in the real world results is Third-party, Shared-technology, components directly linked to performance:.. Tires, brakes, dampers, diff, turbo.. Those parts that are non-specific to the car are the main factors along with aero in the progression, but the actual car has devolved, Taller, Heavier. Update a e.g. McLaren F1 or the legendary Porsche 956 and I think the lack of actual real world progress in almost 40years would shock people...

High revving, high strung N/A power plants are a work of art!
The 90° V6 PRV engine as fitted to the series 1 Lancia Thema V6. Highly tuned by Alfa Corse but never fitted to any Alfa Romeo production cars as is often wrongly stated. The production 155 V6 had the Busso 60° V6. PRV = Peugeot Renault Volvo. Fun fact, early versions of this engine where fitted to the DeLoren…

Incredible rpm and power. And all this with no dynamic valve timing or other blaspbemy. Simply an amazing engine. The sound is divine, heaven or hell can't decide.

Actually this is a FIAT Twin Cam Lambredi engine ..the same used in Lanci Integrale , S4 , 037, Statos etc, the most legendary ever made equally as the Cosworth for the Ford

I wish there had been a rivalry between the Dino 2.4 V6s and Alfa’s 2.5 or any of the Busso V6s.. especially given Alfa’s history with Ferrari.

The last 155 DTM was used the PRV V6, because the angle beetwen the headers is bigger, and this same engine PRV was used in the Delorean dmc 12, imagine the doctor brown with DTM engine in the delorian, 88 mph in 6 seconds

Прав был тот, кто сказал, что показанное на этом видео стоит в "сотни раз дороже, чем один оригинальный гоночный автомобиль" (в районе полу миллиарда евро) Все, что ездило на этом видео, ездило на "сжиженном природном газе" (но может и на "газе-бензине", "в разных/с разными" баками и "не одновременно"). На трэке выдает 490 л/с при 11500 об/мин, максимальные обороты 12 000 об/мин, максимальный крутящий момент 450 Н/м при 3500 об/мин (при необходимости максимальной мощности) ИЛИ 450л/с и 490Н/м (при настройках "максимального крутящего момента"). (684 млн)

What do you call that injection system? It's not port injection, or direct.
It's stand off injection, and probably just a secondary set of injectors for wide open throttle

The 1996 version had a 2.5 L 90° V6 engine based loosely on the PRV (Peugeot-Renault-Volvo) engine delivering 490 PS (360 kW; 480 hp) at 11,900 rpm.
But there is perhaps no original piece of the PRV V6 in this car, like there were certainly no much pieces of the Arese V6 before !
the casing should be the original. for information the PRV has been used in endurance car for Le Mans with WM in 88, 3 later twin turbo produce 910HP (this car has the top speed of Le Mans, 405km/h)
