Those screen shots on the Last Castle look amazing, James! Can't wait to get my hands on my copy, which I've had on pre-order since it was first announced (I never owned it on blu ray, but I do love the movie. Great Redford vehicle). I totally agree with you it's a completely underrated film.

Sometimes the imperfections in a classic film-like Scarlet Street-feel like hidden gems. It makes ya feel you are experiencing something from a different time. I do like a total clean-up of an older film but sometimes the classic films feels extra special if it isn’t fully restored. I like that old imperfections feel in movies. It takes me back to when I was younger watching these films on my parents old tv sets. It brings comfort and takes me back

Looking forward to getting LEVIATHAN. Hopefully we’ll get an expanded score release of it too since Intrada released an expanded release of THE LAST CASTLE a few years back. The existing score CD from it was from back in the 80’s/ 90’s so it’s very short. Us Goldsmith fans have been wanting an expanded score release for a very long time. Keep up the great work! The time and effort you put into your reviews is greatly appreciated!
👍I agree Jerry Goldsmith musical scores deserve to be heard in the full uncut formats & he did so much outstanding music, the Last Castle 🏰 has one of those stories & music that sticks with you for many years & every-time I watch it I’m reminded how great & enjoyable of a complete/entire film package it really is!! The Film has TOP NOTCH Acting, Writing, Score & Pacing‼️👌

@@InSearchofPhysicalMedia Yop! I’m definitely ordering the two of them! I also had purchased the bluray of THE LAST CASTLE when it was released about a year or two ago. What I really like about your reviews is that you always mention the score especially if it’s a Goldsmith score! I’ve been a film score collector since I was very, very young. My father got me started when i was five. It hasn’t stopped since. So much so that I really only listen to a handful of vocal artists, most of which tend to run on the eclectic side.
I'm still holding my breath for in the heat of the night television series on Blu Ray. Currently available for streaming on Amazon Prime it looks absolutely amazing on there. Don't know if we'll ever see it it barely even received ADVD release back in the day.
Really tempting titles by Kino Lorber. BTW: Leviathan, again, has another great score by Jerry Goldsmith. I wouldn’t compare it to Aliens, though. Another sci-fi classic by James Cameron was closer in surroundings (and wetness): The Abyss. Ironically Kino Lorber 4K repeats history: Leviathan did beat the release date race against The Abyss in 1989. Leviathan was released in March, The Abyss in August. But yet another underwater adventure of that year was the first: DeepStar Six, which came out in January. Surprisingly, neither one was really a success at the box office at the time. DeepStar Six was the cheapest of them with a budget of around 8 million US$ (approx. 20 million today), then Leviathan (25 million US$ then, 61 million US$ today) and The Abyss the most expensive (70 million US$ in 1989, which would translate to 172 million US$ today). The later cashed in around 90 million $ at the cinemas internationally, Leviathan gained around 16 million and DeepStar Six just returned its budget (excluding marketing costs and cinema earnings). What's a good way to search for your review on a certain movie? When I search with your channel name and a movie title it only works when the movie name is in the title of your video.
💥So there’s several ways, if searching by the title of the movie doesn’t bring it up you can narrow it down by looking through the different playlists here on my channel that categorize movies based on types & decades of movies etc…
If you still can’t find it after that you can always just ask me & I can let you know if I’ve reviewed that movie or TV series & I might remember the exact video & be able to share it with you!! (If I remember the video LOL!!!🤪)

Question, I’ve always wanted to ask. When a new release, simply says it’s a new 4K scan , or new 4k master, that does not mean there was a new restoration, correct? If they did a restoration, it would say restoration. Is that correct?

I have been looking forward to monk on Blu Ray for such a long time. Its such darn shame that they are trickling this series out at 37.99 each season.. I think they know they have a money maker on their hands so they're going to milk it for all It's worth.

The Last Castle came out right after 9/11 so people weren’t really interested in going to the theatre. They actually had to make a few changes to anti-patriotic scenes in the film
