Every once in a while, the comments sections on TH-cam surprise you in a positive way. This was definitely one of those feats. I don't know you folks. But I am proud of you for avoiding spoilers. Thank you.
I coach high school lacrosse, I saw both movies the Thursday’s nights but told the team anyone who spoils the movie for team mates is running or getting sent home lol
Yeah, and also in Falcon and the Winter Soldier series Bucky said that he did have a conversation with Steve before he went back in time, they also discussed on who will wield the shield after him, so yes, Bucky knew. :)
I hate Thor’s part bc it advocates making poor decisions and abdication of responsibilities and still being successful. The antithesis of The Lion King story archetype. In the real world without being a god that morality isn’t productive or conducive of success on any level.
Something I always love to point out is that when Steve and Tony were arguing in the first Avengers movie, they both proved each other wrong. Tony said to Steve "Everything special about you came out of a bottle" which Steve disproves by showing how he is worthy of Mjolnir. Steve says to Tony "You're not the guy to make the sacrifice play, to lay down on a wire and let the other guy crawl over you" and again, Tony sacrifices himself, proving Steve wrong.
@@vitray5719 agreed. Steve got his happy ending with peggy after essentially emotionally blackmailing tony to take a risk with an empty promise of its gonna be ok. im so triggered right now. tony proved steve wrong twice. everyone cheered old steve on in the cinema and i was like, tony is still dead and natasha and vision. the only reason he could wield the hammer was because Odin died and the spell that prevented others from using the hammer went with him.
Biggest reactions other than the obvious few were yooooo at going for the head, gasps at 5 years later, laughs at cap in the elevator, and laughs at “she’s got help”
imax opening night, the kid next to me cried through his spider-man mask. Like, the entire mask was soaked with tears. I was crying too, but that shit was next level sadness.
Cap went from caring only for others to being able to give happines to himself. Tony went from only caring about himself to saving everyone in the universe. Those are really great character arches and I love it.
@@donat5679 it was coming down to who would do it and it was going to be either cap or Ironman and the impact of all those changes made it make sense for it to be Tony. Also the Russo brothers really wanted to give captain the opportunity to go back so it couldn’t have been anyone else. Best call IMO.
@@bjsuits Cap going back ruined Agent Carter Story. In Agent Carter, she heals from caps death and moves on with Sousa. The ending made thole Agent Carter show pointless.
@@masoodjalal1152 never watched it but yeah idk. I suppose it screwed up a lot of things time traveling. Like Loki clearly took off with the tessaract...what happened after? Past nebula was killed (I’m sure there’s no issue there). Captain had to drop off the soul stone (getting there aside) he’s just like hey red skull weird that you’re here but cya! Good luck waiting around for the next group. I mean I don’t remember what they’re wearing but I THINK it was 1945 which would undo agent carter idk. But if they ignore it like they did agents of shield...? Maybe?
“We’re gonna be okay. You can rest now.” The fact that Pepper was able to hold off her misery, so that Tony could leave with the thought that they were gonna be okay... it gets me every time Specially thinking about the “but would you be able to rest?” line when Tony told her that he figured out how to time travel. It’s like a “you’ve already done enough” kind of thing.
Gamora in this movie was basically at the same time point she was at the beginning of Guardians 1, so she was basically already going to turn on Thanos.
Gamora always wanted to turn on Thanos, it just that she needed the right opportunity to do so. Original Gamora got that opportunity by joining the Guardians of the Galaxy and new Gamora got it after the conversation with Nebula during the war for the infinity gauntlet.
With all of the time travel, it is easy to forget that the timing with Gamora and Nebula is actually during what would have been the time of Guardians of the Galaxy. a continuity issue is that they should have been with Ronan the Accuser instead of with Thanos, since this was when Quill was taking the "orb" at the start of GOTG.
The glove and Tony's suit is made out of the same material "Nano particles", In Infinity war it's shown him taking different parts of his suit to create other parts when he was fighting Thanos. He basically used the Nano particles to move the stones from the glove to his suit.
Except Thanos's glove is all melted and the stones are probably stuck there. Also, how didn't he notice lack of their UNLIMITED POWER and lack of time stone on his thumb?
I think also the new gauntlet was built over the old one hence why the switch went over so easily and Thanos looked confused the stones were embedded in the nanoids so moving from one to the other would and could be easy
The sign off in the credits was so powerful. Over a decade of some of my favorite movies. Seeing their shorts with the individual signatures of the actors, ending with Robert Downey Jr, it was a punch in the gut. Better than an on stage bow. Oh man. This movie, man.
"You're not the guy to make the sacrifice play, to lay down on a wire and let the other guy crawl over you." "You're a lab rat, Rogers. Everything special about you came out of a bottle!" They proved each other wrong
@@brucesimmons5517 oh yeah, no doubt. But this is like the peak of that. In The Avengers Tony sacrificed himself to save the planet and Steve proved he had the more assents that justified his position . But in endgame? Tony does the sacrifice to save literally the *ENTIRE UNIVERSE* And Steve undeniably proves himself “worthy” of his title and his value by lifting the magical hammer only “the worthy” could. It’s like the ultimate proof that they were both wrong about each other
"Why does Scott think that?" It wasn't just half the people in the universe, it was half of all life. So when the birds came back he knew it had worked.
Yep. Also time travel works differently, when you travel into the past you change the present, but your present stays intact. Functionally you create alternative realities by time traveling, and you can't time travel into your own reality's past. Which is why they couldn't kill kid Thanos - wouldn't change anything for our world.
Though of course it should be Sentient Beings not Half of all Life forms or what would be the point of the snap in the first place if the resources that would Give the Other Half more have Equally as much as before
When Happy said, “You know your dad liked cheeseburgers” at the end was a call back to the first Iron Man when Tony wanted a cheeseburger on the way to the press conference.
Which itself was a reference to Robert Downey Jr.'s love for Burger King and his inability to enjoy eating one of their burgers that led him to quit doing drugs.
I get that its a reference, but come on! Everyone likes cheeseburgers! its hardly specific to Tony and Morgan's relationship. Also its not like cheesburgers are Tony's favourite food; he just fancied them after getting back from the cave! I thought it was a reference to far
"This is just like Budapest all over again." "I can do this all day..." "AVENGERS!!!......... assemble." "I love you 3000." "I......am........Ironman." Some iconic quotes through this franchise. Saying them evokes emotions. Watching you was like seeing all my emotions over 10 years rolled up into 25 minutes.
Previous movie- Dr. Strange: ...and what then? Thanos: I finally rest... and watch the sunrise over a grateful universe. This movie- We get to see a sunrise funeral with the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
@@houdin654jeff Oh fuck, another layer. This movie is packed with themes and moments like that - pure fan service in the best way - deeper and deeper, with every rewatch from die-hards, or new set of eyes from newcomers like Natalie. What an achievement this was for Marvel, thanks for noticing this for us that hadn’t.
Natalie: "Gamora was swayed that quickly?" Gamora in 2014: *steals the power stone from Thanos and actually starts the Guardians of the Galaxy by doing so*
My favorite question, ever answered by the Russos, was the one explaining what Steven Strange saw. When Tony sees Thanos taking the Power Stone outta the Gauntlet, he thought to himself: "I could do that, using my nanotech. Even if I just get one of them, I can keep him from snapping again". AND THAT is when Strange seeks Eye contact. Because he knows what could happen. He could not tell Tony what to do. It had to come from within himself. The need to be there and safe EVERYONE. Steven could just nudge him in the right direction, by basically showing him, that he was on the right path. The completion of Tony Starks character arc. Over a decade of setup. We love you 3000, Tony.
It's great, but it also makes me laugh because he whispered it and there is no way anyone actually heard him. I still love it, but I also find it a strange choice to have him basically whisper it.
Sam: Hold on. You have to make sure the first portal opens directly to Cap's left. Dr. Strange: ...Is there some kind of spiritual significance to that? Sam: It's important.
I love the fact that Nat thought the Hammer was working on it's own to save Thor and didn't realize that it was Cap until he caught it. Also, seeing that moment and then the "Avengers Assemble" moment in a crowded theater was one of the best movie-going experiences ever.
I always felt that Cap could have picked up the Hammer back during the party in Age of Ultron if he'd wanted ti. But when he felt it move and realized he could lift it if he wanted to, he decided to stop there because (unlike the rest) he didn't have anything to prove to anyone. Which is one of the reasons he was worthy.
Also cause he probably doesn’t want to upset thor…and make him feel lesser of himself…he is a god afterall…it would be hard for him to understand why a human (although super strength) could wield a weapon such as mjolner
@@SuperPrestogamer Given he was okay with Vision being able to lift it, I'm not sure Thor would have been that upset. In fact he even seemed to guess that Cap would lift it if he wanted to (given his reaction during the reveal when Cap finally wielded the hammer). Thor knows that using the hammer has nothing to do with strength (the hammer doesn't even weight that much; Thor is able to hang it from a coat rack); it's about the substance of a person. For Cap to be able to lift it might have been a little humbling and embarrassing for him in the moment, since they were playing around, but I think he would have understood why Cap could do it, given he knows the kind of person Cap is.
I think while they didn’t know what they were going to do with it at the time, that was known. I feel like you can tell when Steve “can’t” lift it, his acting intentionally gives away that he’s pretending that he can’t lift it but he’s a bad liar.
Personally I've always preferred the idea that when Steve finally admitted to Tony what happened to his parents instead of hiding it to protect his friend, he became worthy.
I remember when I watched it, it was a cinema full of people collectively crying and sobbing. Even my guy friends who I've never seen cry before, were crying. We've really grown attached to these characters.
Theaters in my neighbourhood are usually the quiet type, but when Mjolnir got back to Cap, that was the loudest nerdgasm I've ever experienced. Endgame was exactly that. An _experience_.
Remember the fight between Tony and Steve in the first Avengers? S: "The only thing you fight for is yourself. You're not the guy to make the sacrifice play." T: "Everything special about you came out of a bottle." Years later, Steve is worthy enough for the hammer, and Tony sacrifices himself for everyone. Go figure.
Yeah, that's the beautiful decade long character arc of both of them. Cap who always fought for others finally letting go and enjoying his life like tony told him to do , and tony who was always selfish finally sacrificed himself for everyone which Cap said tony would never do. Such a brilliant conclusion.
@@the_crypter but Tony proved Cap wrong in the first Avengers movie when he took the nuke into space. He was alway willing to make the sacrifice but but now he finally had the family he and Yinsen talked about, which make his death even sadder he was finally happy 😭
Steve was always worthy. He was playing it off in his humble way so not to show anyone up, all the way back to when they were doing the lets see who can lift the hammer game. Thats why the hammer moved when he tried picking it up.. its also why thor said "I knew it"!
I just noticed I forgot to talk about how Tony got the stones. Remember that THIS glove is not the original Infinity Gauntlet. This is the glove that Tony created. It is Nano tech, which explains how it was able to expand to fit Hulk's hand/arm. Since Tony created it, he understood how to remove the stones. So, while he fought with Thanos, he removed the stones and then using his suit, which is also Nano tech, he incorporated the stones into the suit he was wearing.
The way Tony got the stones from Thanos is he basically could slide them off/absorb them to his glove because he is now using nanotech. It functions on a tiny level so it’s essentially controllable liquid metal. And both his suit and the new infinity gauntlet were his tech.
The big problem with it is that gaining the stones is a huge and noticeable power-up, so losing them should also be huge and noticeable. Also, Thanos had to get a special magic glove to house them, but Tony could just incorporate them into his armor? Lazy writing.
@@richchappell I think it’s because Wakandan tech is practically space magic anyway. After BP, they shared their resources and stuff so I imagine that Tony’s nanotech happened as a result of that. That might even mean he got some vibranium too and that could withstand the power temporarily.
@@richchappell not really, the power-up is only once and it‘s gone just like in infinity war, we saw it has no big effect on thanos only when he used it a second time and it messed him pretty much up
The ENTIRE theater was sobbing when I went, and my head was killing me for hours afterwards. And like a fool, I went and saw it again the very next day.
The "you know your dad liked cheeseburgers" line was a reference to when Tony came back to America at the beginning of the first Ironman movie the first thing he did was have Happy drive him to the closest Burger King for some cheeseburgers, and now his daughter is asking for the same thing.
Nat mentioned in the first Avengers movie that she, "had a lot of red on her ledger," indicating she had been regretting the deaths she caused for years. To her, it would make perfect sense that her ledger would be wiped clean if she were to sacrifice herself to bring back half the population of the universe. Just sucks we couldn't have had her movie before Endgame, it would have increased the meaning of her sacrifice a thousand fold.
I think they really dropped the ball waiting so long to make her movie, especially since it was just not that great of a film. I wish they'd given us a spy thriller genre movie relating to her past and how Clint helped get her out of that life, it could have been on the level of Winter Soldier. Instead we got a film that didn't really achieve much outside of giving us a character to continue her legacy so to speak, but I think Nat deserved more than that.
That movie sucked though so it would've soured all the emotional moments in Endgame. BW was a waste of time unless you really just needed another 2 hrs of Johanson 🫡😏
Everyone in the theater went insane because it was an iconic comic book moment.. I believe cap with Thor's hammer was on the cover artwork and it was recreated perfectly on the screen.
I had been holding it the entire movie and ran to the bathroom and missed it. I got back right when Thanos was breaking his shield. So when he caught it and said Avengers assemble I was doubly excited!
@@Tomhyde098 i don't mean to sound rude but, did you really think it was the best idea to go to the washroom during the final battle of not just a movie but a franchise? You could have just hold it in for just 30 minutes more.
the hyped when this movie first came out blind us, it probably more calm to watch it later and on your own, you would be able to focus on some details, she also notice the ant-man flaw as well xD
You don't realize this is a staged response! She is pre watching all these so she will look like some genius, So you must be one of those people who think if it's on youtube it must be real!
This movie finished off the largest storyline on film ever told and will be unlikely to ever happen again. It was amazing and so heartfelt and carefully crafted by all involved. As a middle aged man who grew up with Marvel comics, something incredible happened here that started with: "I am Iron Man" and ended with: "I am Iron Man". So incredible and as much as I love the films that have come since in the MCU, they will never hit this high point again, if that ever happens it will be another amazing and unlikely feat and totally worthy of such praise.
Just to clarify, the snap Hulk did was just bring back who was snapped by Thanos. That's why characters like Loki werent alive again since they didnt die to the snap
again, it's not like a genie wish, "I wish for people get snapped came back to life", I don't think that's what it was, it's more like a focus matter, imagine what you really want to do and *snap*. Hulk said he could have bring back Black widow as well but it was too much for him or whatever, probably a plot device for people to not question why he didn't bring Scarlet back. So I mean he could bring literally anyone back but there's no point to bring Loki back anyway, the univese need to get rid of some characters before phase 4 and I think Endgame provice a great opportunity and they pull off really well.
Natasha sacrificed herself to obtain the Soul Stone. Bringing her back would have invalidated that sacrifice, which is probably why it wasn't possible.
Don't forget natalie, Gamora has been planning to betray Thanos for a long time. So nebula was quickly able to convince her. its fitting that you finish this journey for your one year anniversary.
@@inzaghiscornsalad7034 this is really late but no they didn’t since she was from the time before they met each other she doesn’t know him therefore didn’t develop feeling for him :)
Plus the moment in time they went back to with Gamora was only a day or two before she went to prison and helped form the Guardians, so she would've betrayed Thanos no matter what.
Natalie, if you're confused about the time travel, just know there's broadly two main theories. The first is the one you keep mentioning - the Back to the Future kind where there is one timeline: if you go back and change something, then when you return to the present you will find it affected/changed also. The second is the multiverse interpretation. At any time something different could have happened, multiple timelines branch off for each possibility. If you go back in time and change something, you just cause a new timeline to form with that change embedded in it... but it changes nothing in the timeline you came from so when you return it's the same. All you did was create another universe where something different happened.
She needs to rewatch everything they say before the time heist and actually listen this time because they make it extremely clear: they can't change their past (no killing baby Thanos, meeting yourself/killing your grandpa won't make you disappear) , that's why their plan is stealing infinity stones (which doesn't prevent their Thanos from getting them 5 years ago), bring them to their present, snap to revert the first Thanos snap, and bring the stones back to where they stole them from because they protect the alternate timelines they created by time traveling from interdimensional threats like Dormammu (hence the name "time heist") For a visual representation of the entire movie: i.imgur.com/e4bszEx.jpg
@@Kriae That all works, but how does Cap then live his life in the past and still remain in the timeline that only came about as a result of his absence? A tiny nitpick, but I'd love to see it answered, if there is an answer. Time-travel's inherently illogical, anyway, so one can only demand so much.
@@michaelccozens It can work. Steve Rogers at the end of End Game goes back in time to 1945 (or whenever after that) to live a life with Peggy. Let's call him EG Steve. There will still be another Steve Rogers frozen after going down with the plane just like at the end of First Avenger. Let's call him FA Steve. EG Steve going back to that time doesn't change anything about FA Steve. EG Steve has to just lay low and live a quiet life with Peggy and events play out exactly the same because FA Steve lives life exactly how we saw in the movies. FA Steve gets to the same point of returning the stones and travels back in time to Peggy. Meanwhile the EG Steve that lived a quiet life already can just show up at the park where he once traveled back in time to. The hardest part to believe of this would be that EG Steve Rogers, Captain America, would have stood by and done nothing in his retirement for 75 years despite all the tragedies and crises that the world faced during that time.
"Don't do anything stupid until I get back." "How can I? You taking all the stupid with you." Great callback from the first Cap movie, when Steve was still skinny.
@@KyushaNeverKnowsBest there's no way Cap was gonna beat them alone, and that's my point. It was basically certain death but he stood tall. I'm not taking anything from Iron Man.
Captain America: The First Avenger- Bucky: “Don’t do anything stupid until I get back” Steve: “How can I? You’re taking all the stupid with you” Endgame- Steve: “Don’t do anything stupid until I get back” Bucky: “How can I? You’re taking all the stupid with you”
Natasha didn't get a funeral because Scarlett Johansson apparently said in a discussion behind-the-scenes that it isn't really something Natasha would have wanted.
Gamora was secretly incredibly desperate for a familial connection that she caved the moment Nebula offered it. The previous movies had already suggested this. Edit: The 'New Infinity Gauntlet' was composed of the same nanotechnology as Tony's armor. He just mentally commanded the glove/armor to re-allocate the stones to a new spot.
You may notice there isn’t a post credit scene, only a post credit sound, it‘s Tony forging his helmet in the cave. The moment the whole story began. What a great acknowledgment 🥰
That was a mythic moment. The other parts of his armor were assembled from cannibalized missiles and high tech. But the helmet was *fashioned*, just like the weapons and artifices of antiquity. The Greek Hephaestus, and Zeus's thunderbolts. The dwarvish smiths creating Mjolnir. It's incredibly symbolic. There are parallels in every mythos, even Tolkien.
@@Calder90 yeah I know this movie is part of the mcu, but sorry I can’t count it as though. The only thing that ties to the other mcu movies is the post credit scene. Nothing from this is carried on to the following stories/movies.
I was a mess after watching Tony’s funeral. And when I heard the faint hammer clanging in the background threw me into another mess 😭✊ Love 3000, Tony!!
"I wanna see Bruce break down..." - *misses Bruce throwing a park bench into the next county in anger/grief* Because Tony built the glove that Thanos was wearing, he, of course, programmed a quick release into it to get the stones...so, you know...THAT happened.
11:25 it's a very classic/iconic line that Cap says a lot in the comics. I love how they cut the movie when he was about to say it at the end of Age of Ultron, and then made him say it fully here. There's no other perfect place for him to say than at that moment. I remember at the premiere, the audience reacted as loudly there as when he held the hammer. It was beautiful 🥺
@@MrNinja543 He actually only ever said it fully in this movie. As the comment you replied to stated, there was a cut when he started to say it in Age of Ultron.
"Can you imagine reading the script and being like, I get to say it." Imagine being in a theatre where people cheered for that line alone to the equivalent of a major sporting event.
Loved it - but watching the DVD, even though I replayed it half a dozen times, I couldn't be sure if he said "Avengers - Assemble" or "Avengers - Assembled" (and I really didn't wanna interrupt the movie, turn subtitles on, and go back to the point 'Cap says it..)..
If you didn't experience that cheer then you missed one hell of a moment in your life. I've never had an experience like that first cinema watch. Believe me that people cheering and crying together took nothing away from the film, in fact it made it something even more 🤘🏻
@@MrMasterKaio I mean... I get it with any other movie. But, Infinity War and Endgame? Not to cheer? Are you serious? I was in the Premiere here in Argentina, and was a hell of a moment to be all in the theatre enjoying, laughing and crying all together. I'm completely sure that I wouldn't have enjoyed the movie the same if it wasn't for that crowd watching the movie with me.
You say how you’ve spent “months” watching all these movies, and getting attached to the characters. Now imagine spending a decade+, watching these as they release and growing attached. Growing up with them; being a wreck in the theaters. Was definitely an amazing experience. I’m glad you took the time to go through them all.
As it should, this movie leaves me happy to let go of the past. No unresolved character arcs, no detrimental plot holes ( Sure there could still be there, but not super likely), and everything came together to where I'm sad Tony and Nat died, but I'm more excited for what's next. This movie is the most powerful conclusion to a 23 movie saga. Spider-Man: Far From Home is simply the Epilogue of the series that is meant to get you excited for what's to come.
if you watch her videos on anything, game of thrones, marvel movies, etc etc...its incredible obvious she has seen movies before and these arent legit first time watches...she is too godly at seeing EVERYTHING people take multiple watches to see, or making predictions that no one can possibly predict without prior knowledge....her videos are entertaining, but i see through the authenticity of every one of them
@@theofficialharshmahadik1374 sadly the explanation was simple and easy but seemingly doesnt make sense "if your from the past and go into the future is your now." ie now is the only relivent. its a hard one, i think you get first, when you try to figure it out enough to explain it.
Tony's bleeding edge suit is famous for being able to morph and change shape for whatever tech he needs from his arsenal at the moment. So I think he literally just sucked the stones into the armor.
Yeah, just the same thing tha happened when you saw it go from Tony's left arm to his right hand and when Hulk wore the gauntlet and the stoned moved places to accomodate that. Visual storytelling is what it's called.
You probably know this by now because it's been a couple years, but just wanted to clarify a few things: 1. The Snap did not just kill half of all humans. It killed half of all life in the *entire universe*. 2. Banner-Hulk explained that time travel creates new branches of the timeline. If you change the past, it does not affect your future: it just creates a new timeline that branches off from when you made the change. So Nebula and Gamora from 2014 are not the *same* Nebula and Gamora that we know and love. 2014 Nebula's death has no effect on current Nebula, and Gamora from our timeline still met Peter and the Guardians.
Something you gotta remember about past Gamora is that she came from right before Guardians 1, meaning she was like a few days away from betraying Thanos on her own, so her helping future Nebula makes total sense.
This is why I love Endgame more than any other movie in the Infinity Saga. Tony, the self-centered egomaniac makes the ultimate sacrifice and saves the universe. And Steve, the guy who didn't hesitate to risk his life everytime it was needed gave himself a chance with a well deserved happy ending. Perfect ending for both.
So true. A bit ironic since these all started as pulp comics, and the huge GoT book saga ended in the exact opposite way with no satisfying or deeply meaningful endings.
I didn't like the ending. Both Steve and Thor give up their responsibilities. Not only that, if Thor was going to give up his responsibilities, why the heck stick with a monarchy then after the whole evil sister thing from Thor 3? Why not democracy? Either way, both out of character IMHO. They aren't quitters.
@@cheeseburger12 Steve can't take a break? Pretty sure he did all the stuff he was supposed to do, taking the stones back, etc. :) I think Thor did what he thought was right for his people by giving up the throne, but he did kind of fail to live up to his potential. Still, an improvement from the warmongering egomaniac he started out as in the first movie.
Watching this movie in theater was probably one of the most memorable moments of my life. The crowd cheering, clapping, SCREAMING and crying was an unbelievable experience and I don’t think any movie can top that experience.
I am praying that Natalie reacts to WandaVision. It might be the most interesting project Marvel has ever created. Playing with genre and really delving into the emotional journey of those characters. I think it'd be perfect for Nat.
I never cared for Scarlet Witch before WandaVision, it really made me respect her journey, and empathize with everything she went through, I think one might even consider her one of the more well-rounded characters of the MCU, and there's so many ways she can evolve hell, I still dont really know what Vision is, technically, but I really care for him too now. . . . . . on a more spoilerish note (you've been warned), I love how her past is the perfect background for a future villain, the perfect downfall into madness but also perfect for a story about someone who can come back from that madness so yeah I hope Nat watches it too. Too bad I cant say the same for the Falcon and the Winter Soldier
Even though I remember reading about that in the past, this was actually the first time I noticed him in the background there. Which is funny considering how big he was. I guess I was always to focused on T'Challa. lol
The thing about huge, CGI-heavy fight scenes like this is that they need to get started way, _way_ early, before anything else is shot, and often before the script is entirely finalised. Some movies get around that problem by letting the fight scene be pure spectacle, without any plot significance or emotional attachment to anything else in the movie - but _this_ was the exact opposite; it was the emotional culmination of over a decade of build-up to this point, so they couldn't go that route. I guess when a later script change put Ant-Man into the van, instead of fighting as a giant in the background, they just shrugged and went, "Eh, screw it! If they're looking at the _background_ instead of at T'Challa, then we've gone wrong somewhere anyway."
My head canon is someone was about to get bopt so Scott was like “Hope you got this part, lemme go do some cool big battle stuff and I’ll be right back”
"I never got to say goodbye to my father" Tony's first words at the press conference in Iron Man. "I want an American cheeseburger..." first thing he wanted after being saved. That's why his daughter saying she wants a cheeseburger was a big deal.
Howard's recorded message to Tony in Iron Man 2 "My greatest creation is you" kinda mirrors how Tony recorded "I Love You 3000" as a message to Morgan Also "I Am Iron Man" were the last words in Tony's speech in Iron Man 1 which kicked off the MCU, kinda fitting how they were his last words too.

The Scarlet Witch was always one of the most powerful characters, even in the comics. She did alter the mutant universe forever with three words... "No... More... Mutants.". Chilling.
The scene where Thor summons the lightning and gets his two weapons in hand and his armor back on, in the original script he was supposed to get thin and jacked again as well. Chris Hemsworth fought tooth and nail to get them to change it because he argued that when you're depressed your problems don't just magically go away when you have a good day. It's hard work and takes a while, and it's okay to just appreciate the good days when they come and keep working towards your goal without waiting for a magical fix.
I was impressed that she remembered him. Even though she watched in a condensed timeframe. I didn't and likely never would've even in the same timeframe as her.
Most people also hadn't seen the kid in like 7 years, so that's fair. I saw Iron Man 3 on its opening night at a midnight showing when I was 13. I saw Endgame at 19. I recognized the kid on my second viewing, but I think it's pretty much only because I was a big fan of Iron Man 3 and watched it more than the others.
I've honestly never seen Iron Man 3 completely I could tell from the trailers that it wasn't going to be great but I remembered Ty was in the film and I'd recently seen Jurassic World so I felt pretty great at the premiere being one of the few who recognized his character.

I can't wait for you to be all caught up and to be able to watch along with us as the next phases come out! Keep up the awesome work!
This is the line where Pepper proves herself the biggest badass in the entire MCU. To be able to love someone, so you redeem their dying moments like this, with no thought for yourself... that's a character with character.
It's a throwback to earlier in the movie when they're talking about him resting or not resting if he does nothing about the time travel discovery. Now he "can" rest... Damn...
I like to imagine Sam asking whatever sorcerer from Kamar-Taj that's creating the portal in Wakanda to make sure it was on Cap's left side so he can make the joke.
Yeah, considering that the very nanosecond before hearing Sam's voice, Cap is totally resigned to die fighting Thanos. You can see it in his eyes that he is preparing himself for the ultimate sacrifice.
While I wept on and off throughout the movie, "...on your left." Broke me into a million pieces. Tears of inexplicable joy carried me through the climax and were swept away with tears of sadness.
Yeah, what spoiled it were the subtitles "Wilson: On Your Left" being put on the screen before it's heard. Kind of defuses the impact of the spoken line.
When I watched Tony's death and the aftermath and funeral scenes, it was all blurry because I couldn't stop crying. I lost my dad when I was 27, and while I wasn't nearly as young as his daughter in the movie, the "I love you 3,000" line broke me. I know what it's like to lose your father before it's time. He was only 59.
"How did he do that?" The glove Thanos was wearing and the armor on Stark are made of nanites. When his hand touched Thanos's glove his armor basically absorbed the stones off the glove. You can actually hear clanking noises when they are transferring from Thanos to Tony.
I love the little touches. T'challa dismisses Clint when he introduces himself in Civil War, and in Endgame he calls him by name. Hope made fun of Scott for saying "Cap" in AM&TW, and in Endgame she says "We're on it, Cap!" Thanks for the journey, Nat! Looking forward to more!
As I watched in the theater, as soon as Nat and Clint showed up on Vormir...I knew she was going over that cliff and I started sobbing. I couldn't stop. What marvel has achieved with these films is amazing. I am so glad you watched them with us. ❤️
Can we talk about the lovely, kindhearted, indelibly pure Nat we've all come to know GRINNING LIKE A MANIAC at 13:44 and chanting, "INSTANT KILL! INSTANT KILL!" for a moment? LOL
Some people oddly think this is a plot hole but it really isn't. Untechnically, Hawkeye sacrificed Black Widow as he was holding onto her hand. Letting her go meant that he technically sacrificed Black Widow, therefore there isn't a plot hole and those haters are grasping at straws that don't exist.
The two primary characters that gave their lives (Stark and Romanov) were also two people with no inherent super powers. They were both there from the very beginning, fighting enemies much more powerful than they were. Neither was bulletproof, and both risked everything on a regular basis.
@@Mr.Ekshin Well, they had "superpowers", sort of. Nat was very (almost inhumanely) good at martial arts, and Tony had his (again, almost inhuman) inteligence.
The best way to think of time travel in this movie is that they aren't going into their own past, they are jumping to alternate timelines. No matter what they change their timeline stays the same.
Some context to add about the impact of Tony's death in the movie for those watching at the time is that _Iron Man_ first came out in 2008 while _Endgame_ came out 2019. Meaning, that's *TEN YEARS* of history, memories and relationship that viewers developed with the character. Which for the younger audience, is an entire childhood.
I act like a hardass but am really just a big mush & very sentimental & nostalgic. Obviously real life stuff is what matters & is the most emotional but I totally suspend disbelief for good movies, books, etc I can get emotional watching movies. I never understood how some people have never been inspired or saddened by certain scenes or movies. The usually response is that “it isn’t real.” That’s not the point as it is meant to elicit emotion through symbolism, meaning, etc. I think it shows real emotional depth & range. I think it’s awesome that you get so emotionally invested in these films & have no qualms about balling in your reaction videos. You are authentic, enthusiastic, and you’re hella funny too. "Whosoever holds this hammer, if he be NOT worthy, shall be pinned under the hammer for eternity... or until such time as someone worthy comes and picks it up." This does not roll off the tongue particularly well.

She said as Much, by wanting to Sell the Stone instead of Handing it over to him in GOTG 1... She saw it as her Way Out.
The thing that bugged me was during the event of Quill getting the orb on Morag wasn't both Gamora and Nebula with Ronan and not Thanos
Precisely
The glove and Tony's suit is made out of the same material "Nano particles", In Infinity war it's shown him taking different parts of his suit to create other parts when he was fighting Thanos. He basically used the Nano particles to move the stones from the glove to his suit.
And you can actually hear it if you pay really close attention.
And we can briefly see the stones getting to place before he snaps his fingers.

It's also a nice reverse, to the sound of thunder when people vanished in infinity war. Like nature responding to effects of the snap. I love it
Yep. Also time travel works differently, when you travel into the past you change the present, but your present stays intact.
This comment needs more likes

BTTF had at least three timelines for it to work
This movie certainly makes it sound like they were going for the second theory.
She needs to rewatch everything they say before the time heist and actually listen this time because they make it extremely clear: they can't change their past (no killing baby Thanos, meeting yourself/killing your grandpa won't make you disappear) , that's why their plan is stealing infinity stones (which doesn't prevent their Thanos from getting them 5 years ago), bring them to their present, snap to revert the first Thanos snap, and bring the stones back to where they stole them from because they protect the alternate timelines they created by time traveling from interdimensional threats like Dormammu (hence the name "time heist")

Natasha didn't get a funeral because Scarlett Johansson apparently said in a discussion behind-the-scenes that it isn't really something Natasha would have wanted.
lol the scene where they talk about if she had a family was the funeral, what would they have done?
Exactly!
But the stans are mad that Tony only got the funeral lmao.
I mean, Gamora was already planning to flip on Thanos when she got the chance. Remember, this Gamora is from immediately before her face turn in GotG.
For the funeral scene, they told Tom Holland it was a wedding scene, because he’s notoriously bad about accidental spoilers. 😏
They also told Sebastian Stan that it was a wedding 😂
That's hilarious
Tom kept asking, "Where's Robert?".
Imagine him smiling at first
“Uhh look a bit more serious for this take”
They told Mark that too, which is why he said “He (cap) gets married in this one (fake ending)!” But alas that ended up being a real spoiler.

You probably know this by now because it's been a couple years, but just wanted to clarify a few things:

@@sargentocapitao9668 why not ? It was a great show as well
Natalie actually freaking caught the continuity mistake when Antman flew to the van with Hope then appeared enlarged in a scene right after.

@@bastiancalderon2807 Yep. The hammer was just the focus, the symbol.
Whosover holds this hammer, if he be worthy, shall posses the power of America's ass
The character arcs for all of the characters are so well done, with setups and payoffs. Hats off to the writers, who are the real heroes.
Agreed. The film is a masterpiece character study, with deep psychological meaning, in genre that is supposed to be 'smash/pow/zoom'.
Just got to wrap up the Gamora loose end...
Tons of callbacks and Easter eggs. For someone who had followed all the MCU movies, this last chapter brought a huge payoff.
PLEASE don’t wait for Wandavision it’s only 9 episodes and it’s SO GREAT!!
Glad you enjoyed it, but Monica Rambeau treating Wanda like a hero when she has clearly gone villain is a problem for me.
You obviously have a lot of empathy. That makes you beautiful inside as well. Blessed Be!
