I've been a longtime Memphis college athletic fan, I live pretty close to the area. I hear Memphis fans say all the time how we don't get any respect or recognition, no other conference will take us, etc etc. This is partly why. Games like this. Our fan base is horrible because fans stop paying attention due to games like this. Our home opener this year, the attendance was equal to that of a mid level team at the mid way point of the year. And since then attendance has gone down, down, down. Look at longer highlight videos of this game for example. We went into this game 4-1 and you look at the crowd and you'd think we were 1-4. Now after this debacle, the next home game will be even fewer. If we can't even get people who live 10 mins away to come to a game, how can we ever expect to get a higher conference to give us a shot?

Playing it super slow motion it definitely looks like Houston was offside on that onside kick.

When you allow a slow QB to convert a 4th-11 with his feet, breaking multiple arm tackles to do so, the Football Gods deem you unworthy to win the game. The rest of the game after that was just getting to that choke job. It was automatic they'd recover an onside kick and score again. Memphis doing Memphis things.

I know it’s nitpicking but on the onside kick it looks like either 81 had really good timing for Houston or there was a missed offside.
