- Amy Grant was born on November 25, 1960, in Augusta, Georgia, U.S.A., the youngest of four daughters to Dr. Burton Paine Grant and his wife Gloria. She recorded her first album, a Christian album called, "Amy Grant" in 1977. It initially sold 250,000 copies, eventually selling over a million copies. Her big break came in 1991, when she released the album "Heart in Motion." The song, "Baby Baby" went to number one on the Radio & Records Chart for three weeks. The album eventually sold over four million copies in the United States alone.
I've been a fan of Amy since I was a kid in the mid-'80s, and I still love her music. She has such a huge heart for Jesus, and its infectious.
I love all of Amy's music, but Better than A Halleluiah is one of my most favorite.
Amy, you are my greatest gospel singer of all time since the 90s. Always sings the Love songs to God in such a classy and stylish way in which we can praise God in fashion and joy. Emmanuel !

Corrina - Your mother’s music has been a backbone for my Christian walk since 1983.
I was stationed in the Navy at Groton, CT SubBase and drove up to Boston to hear her, and this afro’d guy named Michael W Smith.
I had been playing drums since “bangin’ on pots and pans on my mama’s kitchen floor”. I literally snuck into the auditorium during sound check with the hope the drummer (Paul Liem?) would be too sick to play and I would volunteer to replace him. True juvenile thinking.
Both MWS and Amy were EXCELLENT that night!

I don't know if she has autotune to thank but she sounds as good as she did 30+ years ago.
TypOPositiv obviously recorded on a phone or something thus no protune. I have to say she seemed to struggle with her portamento. I met her when she was 17; when it was just her, a guitar and a stool and her parent driving her from town to town. So I’m a long time huge fan

I have seen your mom perform 3 times in my life. 2 christmas concerts and one small venue at Edwin J. Thomas Hall in Akron. She has paved an amazing way for those such as Michael W. Smith and Kim Keyes.

@@corrinagrantgill3236 well, to be completely honest, I’m not a huge country fan. But, your father Vince is a very talented musician especially on the guitar and mandolin. Unfortunately I never knew or heard his music until your mom and dad did that first duet together. Tells you how old I am. Lol.
Please pass this along to your mom…I too had open heart surgery a couple years ago. I made it through and survived. I even did a cover of one of her songs in our church as a way of thanking God for a second chance. I’m very thankful that Amy is doing well. God be with you and your family.
