I had my heart set on a 2004 Mercedes C32 AMG (Black Paint/ Black Interior). Lol I definitely remember the horsepower, they were pushing 349 Hp and I think maybe 330 lb-ft Tq. At my local Benz dealership, for sale was a Navy Blue C32, so despite being young and receiving a lot of negative stares, I went and Test Drove it. At the time, that car felt like a freaking Rocket Ship. The Dealer with me was a young guy mid 20s and really let me punch it. Now looking back lol, I’m aware it wasn’t that fast, however back then, I was still driving my first car, which at that time was a 1992 Manuel Transmission Mazda MX-6 with 310,000 miles on it (Looking back, I realize I love that car 😅), so again that C32, whew it was a Rocket Ship… Again fortunately, my mother had more sense then me and end up talking me out of purchasing one, so I never owned it. Point of this whole story 😅. Seeing this car and hearing it has 680 hp, and it’s still just a C Class 😳, that is freaking crazy to me. I don’t like that it’s a 4 cylinder, but it is still crazy powerful and fast.
Changes like these will make it practically impossible for a regular person to own a v8 car anymore cuz everybody's going to want one and the values are going to Skyrocket

It’s possible that what I’m seeing is also just the general change in style / aestethic as new technology gets adopted to the market, even rolls is digital dash now. Another interesting targeting parameter is merc advertising now featuring young drivers drifting with more vibrant colors - making the German luxury brand more approachable by a younger target audience. Certainly not a dumb move from Merc and we are seeing this all over the luxury / premium sector (Ralph Lauren, Breitling, Moët, Gucci, IWC…)

Fun fact the new c53 has the exact same engine, but detuned. It does not have the electric battery or motor saving hundreds of kilos. I think in a few months, a simple tune of the engine in the c53 will yield much better results than buying a c63.
I would've been happy if they kept the 3.0 bi-turbo V6 with hybrid assistance (kinda like the NSX), but nope, 4 bangers across the board... Also hate the new streamline interior as well, the A-class is the only new Merc interior that looks good imo. At least the exterior looks good (unlike the M2)
