yea~ I highly recommend people to run each expansion with the mascot job for that expansion - if they want it to be immersive :) (So DRG for HW, Samurai for SB, and DRK for ShB....and eventually PLD for Endwalker)

in all fairness its not all sunshine and rainbows, Asmongold kinda saw the uglier side of it early on for one. Fortunately the GMs in this game actually give a shit and by this point it seems like most people realized that there is no harm in welcoming former WoW streamers and their fans into the game.

It's unremarkable at best, and I've had quite a few people give me shit for giving them tips for their class when we wipe in a leveling dungeon, even when I tried to be nice about it. It's incredibly anti-social as well, I've only seen actual conversations being had in the cities just recently with the boom of new players. If you play this game long enough, the meme will make sense.

I have seen people come together to greet friends joining the game in small capacities though so its not exclusively for streamers, though. And yes, some people are going to be toxic in any game. As for the cities chat, thats kinda not where the social aspects happen outside of advertisements for FCs or social activities. As a new player, you have the Novice Network, there are FCs and community chat channels (linkshells), etc.

How can you even say that this community effort is unremarkable when nothing of the sort has happened in video games ever, esp this consistently.
Dang that's awesome. Seeing summit play through it makes me want to play again. I sped through to lvl 60 when I started cause all my friends were 60 at the time.

Started playing when 2.0 was released in 2013. Even then, before the culture in game was completely established, most people were nice and willing to help.
I've seen comments saying that streamers like Summit, Asmond, Rich, etc, have looked the happiest they've ever been since playing ff14 and as a player of about 4 years now, just seeing them be sprouts and exploring and journeying through this world that many of us have come to love is just so fulfilling and nostalgic to watch 🥰 I hope they continue to have amazing moments and worthwhile memories in Eorzea 🥳
Heavensward is still soooo good. Enjoy that journey man, you hear everyone talk about how good Shadowbringers is, and it is now the best, but XIV’s first expansion is still right behind it. Should be some special acknowledgements for you in the msq having played drg also.
Congrats! I was watching the strem last night but hoped off because I kept getting 4ad, ad breaks every 5 minutes during the ARR last cut scene. After about 3 or 4 of those I had to go.
This game does a really good job of keeping FPS high in populated areas but the draw distance is absolutely horrendous. People on flying mounts disappear after about 30 meters in completely dead zones.
Man when asmon come here he ain't even gonna be able to see the gate itself I bet the entire na server will be in cactuar on that day lol the server is gonna break can't wait

You are cherry picking. There are numerous events that were held in WOW. Funerals, weddings, massive rp-pvp and more.
