I’m taking a break from physical media. The prices are getting out of hand and I’m only going to shop the sales. I don’t need any of them, but I would like to add to my collection eventually in the future
If you actually have the patience just buy all of your movies on Black Friday or like you said wait for sales!

The Cabinet Of Dr. Caligary is a German expresionistic silent film. It's importance it's that it's considered the first theatrical horror movie. What's strange is that the movie is based on a myth from the 11th century that reappeared in the 1900s.
Gummo is a weird one. It's easily skipable if you want to.

I pre-ordered today, Sleepy Hallow 4k steelbook, Late night with the devil regular bluray, a quiet place day one 4k steelbook, Body Double 4k steelbook, and Twister 4k box set. Also I pre order The Hitcher box set, A Nightmare on Elm street 4k box set. I'm still debating on a shout factory order.
When Halloween trilogy first went up it was $49.96. I jumped on it. I have the Best Buy Exclusive Steelbook Trilogy. Plus every single release. I hate the slip cover almost as much as 95% of Halloween Ends.
Omg watch DEVIL for your horror marathon!! Trust me. It’s so much fun!! A borderline slasher in an elevator. Oh, and you would love The Convent. Add that to your horror marathon too!!!!

Okay, so there's a lot of releases I'm getting in October, not only physical media releases but also video game releases so R.I.P wallet lol. So here's what I'm getting in October: The Blob, Imaginary, The Halloween Trilogy Steelbook is very tempting to double dip even though I have that awesome Best Buy exclusive Steelbook Boxset but it's tempting, A Quiet Place: Day One, Arcane: League of Legends, Us/Get Out Double Feature, The Strangers, A Nightmare On Elm Street, Borderlands, The Wolfman, The Project A Collection, and Trick R' Treat man that's a lot of releases lol.
I just got the 4k of Dacula and Frankenstein this past weekend, good to know the Mummy it's on it's way (hopefully the other universal monsters release as well) exited for Nightmare on Elm Street. 🤩

Indicator in the UK are releasing Colombia Horror box set. This includes Cry of the Werewolf 1944, first time with a blu ray release.

I upgraded the ring collection from DVD to 4K because scream factory did all 3 of them on 4K at the beginning of this year and I wanted the poster for my horror room
Hey Sue, Walmart also has a steelbook for Borderlands. I think the Walmart one is the better looking one, in my opinion
My biggest clunker in my collection is Werewolves of the third reich.

Cabinet of Dr Caligari is one of the all time greatest Arthouse movies.
In terms of “The Cabinet of Dr. Calagari”, I understand that silent movies aren’t for everyone, but the movie is quite fascinating. It was one of the first horror features of the cinema and one of the first of Germany’s great “Expressionism” films of the 1920s. It stars Conrad Veidt who would later be seen in such features as “The Man Who Laughs” (whose character would inspire the Joker in the Batman world), and as the menacing Major Strasser in “Casablanca”
“Dr Calagrai” is an unusual horror movie that I would recommend.
I decided just to get the first Hellraiser blu ray steelbook only.
I love that cover on Halloween
That Paramount Presents version for To Catch a Thief has major problems. The color timing is wrong and there is a scene that was shot "day for night" and was not corrected so the scene looks like a day shot when it should be much darker to appear as a night shot. Paramount quietly corrected these problems and everything has been corrected on this new 4K disc.

Baby Blood is a good French horror movie.
A lot of good films in October! Here are my hot takes -
1. Signs and The 6th Sense are top picks for me. If the price is right I will pick them up for sure.
2. Devil is a really great film (it’s often misattributed to M. Night Shyamalan, but he didn’t write or direct it - he just came up with the basic story). Also a top pick for me with a wonderful twist!
3. Hellraiser is actually a pretty good horror film. I think both the first and second ones are good. They lean more on the gore side of horror though if that’s your thing. It’s not really mine so I’ll pass on it.
4. I’ve never seen Trick ‘r Treat but I really want to. It’s streaming on Max right now so maybe I’ll check it out.
5. STAY AWAY FROM GUMMO. Lol Unless you like your movies to be disturbing and involve kids. I don’t see any redeeming quality in that movie. A weird selection by Criterion in my opinion. But that’s just my opinion. I know that film has fans. 😬
6. MY FOOT IS HEALING. I had a follow up today and the broken bone is filling in nicely. I am SO stoked about this. But I also want to thank you, Sue, for your videos. I came into them right before the foot broke and you’ve kept me entertained with your very consistent upload schedule. And I enjoy the good humor and enthusiasm for films!

Susan may I just say you need that hellraiser box set the first 3 movies are great and that box set has the first 4 films with the 4th one having never before seen footage but if you don’t want a digital the standard edition will have them in individual cases but it will not look as nice as the limited edition digipack

How far ahead of time do you know if a studio is going to send you a title and does that affect your pre-order strategy or do you go ahead and still pre-order the item so that you don’t take a chance of missing out on it in case the studio doesn’t send it to you?
I usually get an email at least a month ahead of time.
@@MoviesSue thanks glad you’re covered. It’s hard now with the pre-order game because sometimes if you wait to see reviews, then they’ve sold out and you can’t get it which kind of sucks especially like Walmart exclusives that they never seem to have in the store because they’re sold out.

Land of the Dead wasn’t a great movie, but the blu ray transfer was bad, blurry, low-bit rate, so I’m getting the scream factory 4k.
