Really good baisic guide with a good amount of tips and tricks added in! There are some tips and tricks that are left out of the video for obvious reasons of not making it super long with too much info's for new people attempting the boss. My favourite "trick // detail" that is not in the video is for phase 2 during minion path Each other ability will always be eggs untill all mininos has spawned, knowing this you can freely avoid using antic / freedom, and feel safe DPSing max without worrying about a webshield :) If you have any other tips / tricks post em! lets get all the best tricks together so we all can get better :D (example Ability 1 Must be Eggs -- Ability 2 can be anything (usually minion spawn) -- Ability 3 Must be Eggs -- etc etc)

Little tip for the acid path - instead of running right to the end of the bridge, stand a square away from it. The bridge will still collapse and you have enough room to move from his cleave ability. Also, after the cocoon attack, it's always 4 autos before his next special.
So followed step by step, It took me a couple tries but I ended up finally killing the boss. The drop wasn't looking good only 600k and I went through a lot of trouble to get that kill, so I pet chanced it... Got the pet with 1 kc. The guide was good but I'm never going back lol.
Lol I died so many times but keep doing it bro. He’s actually very very good money.. I only have 13 kills lol but I got a 6m drop once and I got a spider bottom leg already. Takes me a bit to kill him tho

Hey man thanks for the video, quit runescape a while back but came back and got into bossing. I made a bossing clan that's gotten pretty successful and felt like a scrublord compared to my other clanmates because I couldn't do Arraxor yet. Thanks for the help and I really appreciate how you showed an example of a bad kill, now I can learn from your mistakes instead of my own.
I figured this boss out a couple weeks ago and was still struggling a bit. unfortunately you didn't cover melee, but I did learn a few things I was doing wrong so I very much appreciate this :) i'll break past 200 enrage one day!
QOL for newer players would be to use Blue Blubber Jellyfish instead of brews. It heals less, but there is less micomanagement with restores (assuming you restore after using and not wait the 15~ seconds for your overload to proc the stats back up). Also, you can sell the brews you get from drops to fuel the purchases of BBJ to offset the cost of not regaining the food source from kills like you would with brews. Just my thoughts after starting araxxor a week ago.

Still relevant 2 years later, learning to survive phase 4, using sunshine at 100k hp rather than when he has 50k is whats been messing me up. Thanks for the tips
Small things I think were missing were needing antipoison or venomblood as the ranged hits poison and an explanation that without overloads the magic attacks will drain stats. Melee attacks for the first three paths will cause typeless bleeding when maging araxxor, but you didn't cover mage anyway and for some reason this doesn't exist at araxi so that's normal to leave out I suppose.
I had to make this comment after watching your guide and trying out araxxor. Right away, I obviously died about 6x, ALWAYS at phase 4 when the bouncy thing hits me right when he spits a range and mage at you at the same time, when he would have 2k hp.. So I brought a power burst of vitality and right before the bouncy thing would hit me, I’d eat up to full hp, take a drink, do my pray flicks, and kill every time. I can’t be the only person who had this problem.
i currently have a special assignment from prif slayer master to kill araxxi 10 times, and a reap assignment for araxxi ...... the gods have aligned teh stars in my favour, i must suck it up and learn araxxi before combat week!
Rax is my favorite boss after about 250 kills i switched from range to melee and my kills have significantly reduced times. It is more difficult to learn but a game changer! i also never kill the minion spiders unless its a pulsing or mirrorback even up to 300% enrage it is possible to ignore them for better times.
So I thought the same thing but it wasn’t that bad when I tried it. Pick a path that you want to try then look at how to do that one that way you learn one path at a time
Nobody ever seems to mention this about P4 but Minion spawns on P4 do not follow the traditional spawn pattern meaning you can get a mirrorback or pulsing spider even if there is only 1 set of minions remaining.
Not to mention auto closing and moving tabs. It's always fun to be full sirenic/Nox bow and know exactly what you're doing, only to get dummied on because you can't click items in your bag all of a sudden.
Hey Protoxx, just got first kill on first try w/ yr guide! Did it on ironman with Superior Spined and Attuned bow. Took 13 minutes tho but still, can prolly scratch off at least 2 minutes w/ practice, cus i spent wayyy too much time on acid path.
@@ptsg So the araxxor cleave all you wanna do is the moment you get pulled in you spam click away, you may be mixing it up with the mechanic where she tangles you up in a web and you need to freedom to get out of it? But for cleave, the second she pulls you towards her, just run away as soon as possible and you'll dodge it!
Attempted my first kill today (bottom path). Made it to phase 4 but got taken out by the little jumpy guy.. Edit: finally got my first kill after dying like 6 times. The last 25k health of the last phase is so brutal.
Hi, is there a difference in perspective of drops between using custom encounters or just entering the pit? It feels like if I were to receive only around 200k on everage kill aside from the unique drops, I might as well just enter the encounter and get my food money back. Thanks :)
Araxxor is the type of boss which I just completely avoid because of the amount of mechanics surrounding it. Even watching a well-made guide like this, it's just overwhelming. The hardest boss with the most mechanics I've fought is the QBD, and I already find that one hard enough, even though I'm maxed. Anything involving shield or ring switches during combat, or specific abilities at specific times is just.. ugh. I'm a Revolution+(+) kind of guy, and any attempt I've made at trying manual activation of thresholds or shield switching abilities has just ended horribly. (Add in ANY mechanic which results in an insta death, and I'm out.)
@@ProtoxxGaming Let's say it's a case of both. Not necessarily 'lag', but more like Runescape's tick system. By the time I see the insta-kill spider, or any of the other mechanics, I try to click away. But by the time the character actually moves (even on low ping worlds) it's often already too late. If I try to equip a shield and try to resonate an attack, I've already been hit before being able to activate it. If I try to manually activate freedom or anticipation, I have to spam-click the ability and hope it activates somewhere in the tick-system. For the same reasons I 'avoid' the fire-wave attacks of the QBD by walking 'through' them, for trying to make it to those gaps to fully avoid damage is just impossible. I've got good internet and low ping, but dealing with all those precise mechanics is just not for me.
@@VoltornElda Fair fair. I think you could easily avoid the instant kill spiders at rax by paying attention to when u slaps the ground and spits out the instant kill spider, this way u can stand far away before he spawns. I hope that helps
@@VoltornElda You can do it man, I've killed rax with no armor at 150% enrage. Just lean forward and really count his auto attacks/ pay attention to instant kill spiders and it should be easy enough even at 200% enrage
This boss is pissing me off, I use a scythe and yet I'm STILL getting melee'd, I thought the damn thing was supposed to have +2 range. And then the whole prayer switching as well as trying to focus on what moves he's doing in Phase 4 is bullcrap. What the fuck am I doing wrong -.-
I havent done rax in melee but I've heard that turning Run mode off stops you 2 squares away from him (instead of 1) which is how people stay out of melee distance, flicking run mode on and off as needed. Too sweaty for me, I stick to ranged and my 6 minute kills :P And P4 it helps to spam anticipate and freedom which negates 2 of araxxis moves. Then the only attack you have to focus on besides prayer flicking is the black sludge attack.
I stupidly took the special slayer task to kill the bosses with the black crystals when I haven't done some of the bosses before like Araxxi and K'ril. I just killed the QBD with 4 crystals on me.
Question, Hoe to skip the shortcut from araxxor to araxxi every time I got ko there because anticipation is not that fast. Got a view kills tho nice guide👌
It's actually hard to practice if you're using mid level gear since, if you think about it logically, you'll be taking more damage and therefore a lot of your focus is going to go toward keeping your health up when you should be using more of that focus on watching the attacks/learning the actual mechanics. When I first tried rax I took the highest level stuff, a full pack yak of food and just sat in each phase learning it until I got in the right habits. I'd basically do phase 1 then quit, then redo phase 1 again until I felt confident with that phase. Trying to string all phases together at once is unrealistic since each phase has quite a bit to remember.
After 14 deaths, I finally got my first Araxxor kill! Although admittedly, i'm having a lot of trouble killing him again though. This is with all 99 combat stats, T90 Masterwork, Amulet of Souls, Noxious Scythe, Supreme Overloads, Enhanced Excalibur, and curses.

This boss actually depressed me to oblivion, can barely bring it down the 2nd path once I do I have 0 food left..he switches from ranged to magic and hits me for 1,4k each hit i miss my curses, there are SO MANY things to follow I can barely see anything, spiders are hiding beneath him and yeah I tried really hard but I'm giving up for now...
Fast question! If I’m in practice mode it’s a free death you said but what if I succeed in the kill do I get a drop or does it Not count because it was in practice mode? I’m just asking because I’m going to try raxx for the first time so I’ll use practice mode because I hate dying and paying for it and I’m sure I’ll die a lot! So if something crazy happens I want to know if I’ll get a drop? If not I’ll risk it in regular mode and go from there
ProtoxxGaming I loooked it up when I tried last night. It all looked easy in your video when I watched it at work but the dark and light stage ruined me I kept messing up so I have to rewatch it and try it again for the 2nd time ever tonight because I got Killed on the 3rd stage
Tried 3 times and died everytime so far. I take middle path, and make it to Phase 3. Its there where the minion from top path usually get in my way and either I run out of food or acidic or Mirrorback spider K.O's me. Gonna keep trying till I get a kill. I'm using Scythe w/Masterwork (Enhanced Devoted 4/Impatient 4 +Mobile, Biting 2, and Crackling 4 + Relentless 3).
I have problems with the poison spiders that explode. Araxxor spawns them right next to me and they blow up instantly. I've had runs where i barely eaten food but i get KO'd by the spiders
Is there a mechanic with some gray ball jumping around the floor in p3 or p4 where you have to step 1 tile away? I think my friend mentioned that once.

It is the final phase: "At 25,000 life points (35,000 in duos), Araxxi gains 20% enrage, removes her soft damage cap, subtracts the player's adrenaline by 50%, and releases a black sludge ball (2 balls of sludge in duos)." The black sludge ball is what I was thinking of.
Araxxi needs fixed anyway, prayer swapping from ranged to magic is too sudden and the servers just don't respond fast enough for an instant swap like that. It leads to me eating big dmg every time araxxi swaps to magic after ranged. Magic moves much faster then ranged so they should slow it down or improve their servers.

Protoxx! I got my first Arraxor kc last night after multiple attempts and got a spider leg middle on first kill! Now I can't quit killing this spider.😂 I tried some Next tonight but the blood phase gets me. I can't get her lower than 120k and I don't know why. She just says Immune...

120 combat states, virtus gear, nox staff, using blood barrage, 20m spent in attempts, yet 0 kills.... maby i should have done him 1st one the dark crystal slayer assignment edit: got 1 kill, needed pack mamoth, only sara brew (6) n restores as food, vamp aura and the luck of gods
This rotation is currently active, I get Rax down to 3k health in first phase, go second, kill all minions and his health just keeps getting healed from what looks like the cealing I'm so confused. He's constantly being insta healed to 100%
i have an issue with the last 25k hp on 4th phase. he goes apeshit and my health starts erratically declining without me, having 2 hands on the keyboard doing prayer switches and eating food. I feel though that it should be a lot easier than this and i've died a lot more than i've managed to just barely scrape a kill at the last second. :( i dont got sunshine either and i use mage.
With range I force rax to use mage on me by only using deflect range and sticking to that, you could try camping deflect range and see if that works for you?
Trust me guys, with practice you CAN master this boss and reach 300% enrage. Dont feel intimidated or discouraged that you cant do it. I have done some pretty stupid things with this boss and still killed it. For example I forgot to bring ARMOR once at 150% enrage and managed to kill it. I also forgot ammo with a bow and had a scythe switch and had to fight with a scythe with range armor and killed it. Best advice I can give you is to just stay calm and remember that he is not invincible!
To master all the mechanics he is a pretty complicated and hard boss but unless you are pushing higher enrages or concerned about getting optimal times he is pretty forgiving if you flub his mechanics or don't tryhard on dps
my first boss was the king black dragon.. i can take him down no problem... now i have a fear of spiders the first time i found the entrance not knowing what i was entering the lair of a big ass spider the size of freaking Aragog! if i find people to boss with i should be able to kill him 0.0
Uhm not sure what i did wrong with acid path cus i did it like 10 times but the ramp didn't break. Just ran out of supplies and died lol, fun. Darkness path is super easy...

@@ProtoxxGaming Let's say it's a case of both. Not necessarily 'lag', but more like Runescape's tick system. By the time I see the insta-kill spider, or any of the other mechanics, I try to click away. But by the time the character actually moves (even on low ping worlds) it's often already too late. If I try to equip a shield and try to resonate an attack, I've already been hit before being able to activate it. If I try to manually activate freedom or anticipation, I have to spam-click the ability and hope it activates somewhere in the tick-system. For the same reasons I 'avoid' the fire-wave attacks of the QBD by walking 'through' them, for trying to make it to those gaps to fully avoid damage is just impossible. I've got good internet and low ping, but dealing with all those precise mechanics is just not for me.
@@VoltornElda Fair fair. I think you could easily avoid the instant kill spiders at rax by paying attention to when u slaps the ground and spits out the instant kill spider, this way u can stand far away before he spawns. I hope that helps

@@VoltornElda You can do it man, I've killed rax with no armor at 150% enrage. Just lean forward and really count his auto attacks/ pay attention to instant kill spiders and it should be easy enough even at 200% enrage

This boss is pissing me off, I use a scythe and yet I'm STILL getting melee'd, I thought the damn thing was supposed to have +2 range.
And then the whole prayer switching as well as trying to focus on what moves he's doing in Phase 4 is bullcrap.
What the fuck am I doing wrong -.-
I havent done rax in melee but I've heard that turning Run mode off stops you 2 squares away from him (instead of 1) which is how people stay out of melee distance, flicking run mode on and off as needed.
Too sweaty for me, I stick to ranged and my 6 minute kills :P
And P4 it helps to spam anticipate and freedom which negates 2 of araxxis moves. Then the only attack you have to focus on besides prayer flicking is the black sludge attack.

I stupidly took the special slayer task to kill the bosses with the black crystals when I haven't done some of the bosses before like Araxxi and K'ril. I just killed the QBD with 4 crystals on me.

It's actually hard to practice if you're using mid level gear since, if you think about it logically, you'll be taking more damage and therefore a lot of your focus is going to go toward keeping your health up when you should be using more of that focus on watching the attacks/learning the actual mechanics. When I first tried rax I took the highest level stuff, a full pack yak of food and just sat in each phase learning it until I got in the right habits. I'd basically do phase 1 then quit, then redo phase 1 again until I felt confident with that phase. Trying to string all phases together at once is unrealistic since each phase has quite a bit to remember.
Just hit 99 in every combat skill, so now its time to try Arraxor. Wish me luck lol
After 14 deaths, I finally got my first Araxxor kill! Although admittedly, i'm having a lot of trouble killing him again though.
This is with all 99 combat stats, T90 Masterwork, Amulet of Souls, Noxious Scythe, Supreme Overloads, Enhanced Excalibur, and curses.

This boss actually depressed me to oblivion, can barely bring it down the 2nd path once I do I have 0 food left..he switches from ranged to magic and hits me for 1,4k each hit i miss my curses, there are SO MANY things to follow I can barely see anything, spiders are hiding beneath him and yeah I tried really hard but I'm giving up for now...

I’m just asking because I’m going to try raxx for the first time so I’ll use practice mode because I hate dying and paying for it and I’m sure I’ll die a lot! So if something crazy happens I want to know if I’ll get a drop? If not I’ll risk it in regular mode and go from there
Practice mode doesn't make you any money sadly.

Tried 3 times and died everytime so far. I take middle path, and make it to Phase 3. Its there where the minion from top path usually get in my way and either I run out of food or acidic or Mirrorback spider K.O's me. Gonna keep trying till I get a kill. I'm using Scythe w/Masterwork (Enhanced Devoted 4/Impatient 4 +Mobile, Biting 2, and Crackling 4 + Relentless 3).
I have problems with the poison spiders that explode. Araxxor spawns them right next to me and they blow up instantly. I've had runs where i barely eaten food but i get KO'd by the spiders
So dodge in the direction the spider is attacking? A little counterintuitive, but okay

It is the final phase: "At 25,000 life points (35,000 in duos), Araxxi gains 20% enrage, removes her soft damage cap, subtracts the player's adrenaline by 50%, and releases a black sludge ball (2 balls of sludge in duos)." The black sludge ball is what I was thinking of.
i hv the same mid teir gear as your guild but i am still taking far woo much damage and using so much food any reason why that is?
Araxxi needs fixed anyway, prayer swapping from ranged to magic is too sudden and the servers just don't respond fast enough for an instant swap like that. It leads to me eating big dmg every time araxxi swaps to magic after ranged. Magic moves much faster then ranged so they should slow it down or improve their servers.

I did 99 construction, herblore, fletching, crafting, and summoning on double exp weekends... cut the cost and time in half. I feel bad that you have those 2 left at those levels lol

This rotation is currently active, I get Rax down to 3k health in first phase, go second, kill all minions and his health just keeps getting healed from what looks like the cealing I'm so confused. He's constantly being insta healed to 100%

You need to get him to 5k in second phase as well and he won’t heal anymore in phase 3, only 10k heal or something then that’s it
i have an issue with the last 25k hp on 4th phase. he goes apeshit and my health starts erratically declining without me, having 2 hands on the keyboard doing prayer switches and eating food. I feel though that it should be a lot easier than this and i've died a lot more than i've managed to just barely scrape a kill at the last second. :( i dont got sunshine either and i use mage.
With range I force rax to use mage on me by only using deflect range and sticking to that, you could try camping deflect range and see if that works for you?
Trust me guys, with practice you CAN master this boss and reach 300% enrage. Dont feel intimidated or discouraged that you cant do it. I have done some pretty stupid things with this boss and still killed it. For example I forgot to bring ARMOR once at 150% enrage and managed to kill it. I also forgot ammo with a bow and had a scythe switch and had to fight with a scythe with range armor and killed it. Best advice I can give you is to just stay calm and remember that he is not invincible!

sounds complicated for an "easy" boss, I don't think I'll ever be doing this guy (on a regular basis)
To master all the mechanics he is a pretty complicated and hard boss but unless you are pushing higher enrages or concerned about getting optimal times he is pretty forgiving if you flub his mechanics or don't tryhard on dps

my first boss was the king black dragon.. i can take him down no problem... now i have a fear of spiders the first time i found the entrance not knowing what i was entering the lair of a big ass spider the size of freaking Aragog! if i find people to boss with i should be able to kill him 0.0
Uhm not sure what i did wrong with acid path cus i did it like 10 times but the ramp didn't break. Just ran out of supplies and died lol, fun. Darkness path is super easy...
U need to be sure araxxi walks with you, sometimes its a little bugged (turn off run to be sure it walks correctly)
