Thanks Kaspa Silver for this informative tutorial. The fact that a pi5 can run a node is soo great for decentralization!! If it’ll support the new fork for 10bps I’ll may set this up for fun to mine from my ks0.
@KaspaSilver how much resources does running this use up, do you know by chance?
You are amazing thank you 🔥
VAMOS KASPA TO THE MOON
Vamossss kaspa loco!!!!!!!!
10 BPS + Kii + Sparkle + T1 Listings will pump Kaspa straight to 10$ next year. Would never sell this gem. Holding forever and I will buy more Kaspa with every salary. KAS + Nacho
Awesome video. Can you make a video addressing the threat of quantum computing to crypto and Kaspa’s potential resistance to quantum attacks. I assume Kaspa stands the best chance of staying secure in the future - and if that is the case, then we truly have a silver mine in our possession. Thanks. 🙏🏼
This type of video is definitely on the list of vids I gotta make! 🫡
Good morning my brother in the lord
Thank you for this video. How about just setting up the rusty node and not using the bridge? I do have an Iceriver miner 400 Gh/s running on solar to a pool atm, and may want to solo mine at a later date. For now I would like to create a node just to help the network. I have a couple of Raspberry Pi's and my 9yo uses a pi5 8GB as her main computer. I run Home Assistant on a very old pi3B. Do you think it is worth paying the extra for another pi5 8GB and how much storage is required for the pruned database and how much for the achieved database (when all KAS coins are mined)? Also, is this version of the node good for 10 blocks per second?
what is the command to run an iceriver KS0 Ultra? I don't have a goldshell.
If you follow everything here you can still run a KS0 Ultra even though it’s configured to support goldshell as well.
Can someone make a "how to" for Mac? Or is this generally a bad idea?
This video mentions mining Kaspa with a Raspberry Pi for $175, but it doesn't mention the need for an ASIC miner that can handle the heavyhash algorithm, which might be expensive. Am I misunderstanding something here?
At the beginning of the guide, I go over everything you need which includes an ASIC miner. That is also why the title is How to use the Pi 5 as your node, not a miner.
hope it makes sense, to educate myself; even if I have i9 cpu, 4090 gpu it wont make sense to mine kaspa coz my instance nothing compare to other miners. my question is, how the solo mining is better to mine whereas its not profitable with the spec I have?
@@cherslan To mine Kaspa you need ASICS. Solo mining though is much better for decentralization and depending on the miner may outperform pool mining.
@@KaspaSilver much appreciated. I think I will go through your videos to learn more about mining and solo mining for Kaspa. I really would like to mine Kaspa even its not a big amount, and upgrade as I get more experienced.
i tried before the kaspa-ng on rpi5 and it just couldn't compile at all i tried everything, rust node is better
but i still get for some reason a freeze after a while of running, which makes me unable to connect to the pi (I don't use a monitor, but a vnc service)
Hm I have had troubles with Kaspa-NG if I don’t keep it on the log screen the whole time. Definitely just running the rust node itself is better and I have never had any issues with that.
Can it work with Pi4 8gb?
It should work. Definitely give it a try!
Will the Rasberry Pi 5 handle the 10 bps when it is time?
From my testing so far it will not but some testers have manage to get 10BPS on devices with similar specs to the Pi. I will do more testing once we get closer to the release and confirm.
Kasa lol one Kaspa mined per year 😂 waste of time honestly
I’m not mining with my raspberry pi I’m running the node so that I can mine to it with my asics.
@KaspaSilver would this work if I bought some small portable miners?
