- Check out this exclusive eng dub clip from Oscar-nominated director Mamoru Hosoda's anime Belle, which opens in select IMAX preview screenings on January 12 ahead of its nationwide theatrical release on January 14, 2022.
From Studio Chizu, Belle is described in its official synopsis as "a fantastical, heartfelt story of growing up in the age of social media."
Shy high schooler Suzu escapes from regular life via a virtual world called "U" where she enjoys being a famous singer named Belle. In this exclusive clip, Belle's concert is disrupted by a monstrous creature pursued by vigilantes, which sparks an epic quest for both Belle and the beast.

This is one of those rare movies that made me cry from how heartfelt and beautiful it was.
This was magnificent and it’s style mesmerized me😌
This movie definitely has a lot of problems but it's still absolutely worth watching once or twice. The soundtrack is phenomenal and the animation in certain parts is really gorgeous.

watched in japanese version, it has its tiny flaws but it s a really enjoyable 2 hours. highly recommended. u wont regret

Saw it last night, soundtrack for this movie is lit. Higher highs and lower lows than Summer Wars (another movie, same director, similar virtual world concept) imo, really worth the watch.
My mom hates anime but this movie made her cry.

Fun fact: the voice actress who voices Suzu’s best friend is Jessica DiCicco, the voice of Lynn and Lucy Loud
She also voiced olette from KH 2 and Lumina from LRFF13 :D

The film has great animation and music, but the plot has so many holes and zero explanation for so many things

Yeah, the plot is all over the place, but the visuals, characters, music make up for it. Worth the watch for those alone in my humblest of anime carnoisseur opinions.
@@omivnr3858 The relationship between Suzu and Dragon jumps back and forth between platonic and romantic plus most of the other characters besides Suzu have little character development.
@@omivnr3858 without spoiling anything, the ending left a lot of things up in the air, and when you find out what exactly was left without closure, that's the last thing you wanna NOT give definitive answers too

Watched it. Highly recommended.
This movie is more art direction than movie. Even if it is just a re-imagining of Beauty and the Beast, the plot is pretty confusing and non-sensical at some points. Also, the more you think about "U" the less sense it makes. Still, it does have some really nice songs and some pretty spectacular visuals.

He was being chased and just ended up there, had nothing to do with her in particular

Dragon ruins all the concerts, including Belle's. I believe it's because of his grudge he holds in the real life that he decided to take it out in the U world.
Its a beautiful movie but it could have had a better storyline. Just my opinion🤷♀️

this film has a lot of problems in the plot and some scenes really look like this film is plagiarising “Beauty and Beast” but at least the song and art were incredible. just… horrible plot. poor pacing, no originality, a lot of deja vu… sad. because all the factors except for the plot are really, really great.
It’s a reiimagination of beauty and the beast, so it would be weird that it has scenes from the familiair story 😅 But yeah, pacing could’ve been much better

@@surakuvliegendefiets6226 Disney’s beauty and the beast is only one telling of the tale. It’s a classic fairytale and taking specifics scenes from Disney’s version could be considered copying since it was their way of visually telling the story first.
