imo it wasn't fake. It was so raw child like tantrum, that people are capable of... it just takes a certain mental state to manifest. All of us can reduce to this in some cases. She is kind of spoiled first of all, so she has this still child like state of mind as a bonus, and when your dreams (of someone care about you, pay for you, give you luxury) are suddenly swept away... everything goes uncertain, you panic. She (I hypotize) finally found a nice, loving guy, who she can order (in a way) around, loves her, accepts her, pamper her. She imagined (ans suffered for 2 years of belittleing and batteling with the mother) finally a perfect, luxorious life. It was a stable fantasy, where she doesn't need to do anything (just like a child), and when nothing happened in a way as she expected it... then here comes a meltdown. Since she is still has childish views (shown by gimmie my gifts, i dont need to do anything, my pets are enough responibility to have, bring me my food/drink, drive me around, and the greatest of them: my present (the ring) is MY present even though I rejected it and stated that i did not want it.) her meltdown results in a proper 3 years old temper tantrum. Her emotions already escalated beacuse her calls and messages was ignored. Of yourse, the producers have great power in manipulating behind the scene and also cutting the show... but this meltdown was raw and real for me. Even really cool, logical and collected people can act like this, just push them to that state ~ or sometimes something triggers a childhood trauma - here: abandonment/refusal of oneself.

Okay, so this being a TLC show, I knew this was staged from the first moment, but when Emily said her "women shouldn't work" speech, I just laughed. I'm convinced that Emily's character was rewritten to add a new twist, because it feels like they're switching villains for this arc. Emily got really weird, really fast.
It's also possible that they purposely cut it in the beginning to make her look like the normal one of the 3, so they could make it seem like a twist without her actually changing.

I watched the whole series after your first video, and it was so entertaining. The more I watched Shekeb and Emily's relationship, though, the more I thought it had to be scripted or that they were all actors because if they're actually for real, there's some serious dysfunction between all of them.

After 4 years....Emily having a few "crazy" moments out of all those years of building frustration it's fine. No one ever apologizes to her and when she was wrong she tried to apologize immediately. And all of them drive luxury cars, she's not weird to expect a luxury life if that's what they've been doing the years of their relationship. I'm sure after 4 years no one is surprised about what each other cares about.
If Shekeb does expect a woman to spoon feed him, clip his nails, shave his back, etc then it's not completely unfair to want him to be the bread winner. The amount of bread Emily wants is insane though.

Idk if anyone already answered this but the deal with rings in the US (in most states) an engagement ring is a gift in contemplation of marriage. If the wedding doesn't happen the ring goes back to the one who gave it. If the wedding does happen that then becomes the receivers even in case of divorce. A promise ring is a gift

A very twisted situation, on one side you have the overly attached mom with boundary issues, and on the other side you have the bimbo with the unrealistic expectations, and lack of understanding of what a true relationship/marriage entails. He is also a huge piece of work.
Emily definitely isn't an angel, but I do feel bad watching the scene of her screaming at shekeb's house. She has been dealing with verbal and emotional abuse from Shekeb's mom and Shekeb (being a bystander and disregarding her feelings) for almost 3 or so years. The stuff we saw in the previous video is what she has been dealing during her entire relationship. She interpreted Shekeb getting her a promise ring as yet another instance of him putting her second, and had her breaking point, which ultimately, and unfortunately, made her look silly. While she set herself up with her insane expectations, she's been keeping it together for YEARS, and to our knowledge, this is the only time she broke down like this. girl deserves a break (and a reality check).

I agree with you, except for the promise ring part. Emily downed the ring; she didn’t want it. She talked so much crap about it, and was disrespectful to Shakeb and Laila. To me, that’s a clear sign that she didn’t want the ring. The fact that Laila was trying to make amends with Emily by talking to her at the massage parlor, and also attempting to welcome her into the family by throwing candy says a lot. I agree with Laila, Emily should be appreciative about Shakeb (even though he’s not all the way there at times), and not what he can do for her. He might be a little dense, but his heart is in the right place.
An engagement is LITERALLY a promise for marriage. I do understand that here is more of a semantics thing, but you can either see him as being cowardly with an actual engagement or that he is more comfortable with calling an engagement something else, given his past with marriage.

Of yourse, the producers have great power in manipulating behind the scene and also cutting the show... but this meltdown was raw and real for me. Even really cool, logical and collected people can act like this, just push them to that state ~ or sometimes something triggers a childhood trauma - here: abandonment/refusal of oneself.

Emily definitely isn't an angel, but I do feel bad watching the scene of her screaming at shekeb's house. She has been dealing with verbal and emotional abuse from Shekeb's mom and Shekeb (being a bystander and disregarding her feelings) for almost 3 or so years. The stuff we saw in the previous video is what she has been dealing during her entire relationship. She interpreted Shekeb getting her a promise ring as yet another instance of him putting her second, and had her breaking point, which ultimately, and unfortunately, made her look silly.
While she set herself up with her insane expectations, she's been keeping it together for YEARS, and to our knowledge, this is the only time she broke down like this. girl deserves a break (and a reality check).

Highlight has gotta be Laila closing those blinds with the final 'bye'. What an actual legend XD It seems like we got duped by Emily in the first season. Laila knew she was after the money from the start, so makes sense why she couldnt stand her going after her favourite son. She does need to decouple herself from his life and return that promise ring 😅
I agree with you, except for the promise ring part. Emily downed the ring; she didn’t want it. She talked so much crap about it, and was disrespectful to Shakeb and Laila. To me, that’s a clear sign that she didn’t want the ring. The fact that Laila was trying to make amends with Emily by talking to her at the massage parlor, and also attempting to welcome her into the family by throwing candy says a lot. I agree with Laila, Emily should be appreciative about Shakeb (even though he’s not all the way there at times), and not what he can do for her. He might be a little dense, but his heart is in the right place.

An engagement is LITERALLY a promise for marriage.
I do understand that here is more of a semantics thing, but you can either see him as being cowardly with an actual engagement or that he is more comfortable with calling an engagement something else, given his past with marriage.

I've enjoyed watching these shows with your commentary but I think this is the one that has solidified to me that it's all fake.

plus TLC was already filming them, they were already getting paid, what you think they just came to her with an idea to change her character into one that everyone would hate and she just said ok? It seems more likely that we didnt see this up front because she was hiding it until she felt she had him, like most people do at the start of a relationship, they hide their flaws until they feel comfortable enough to actually be themselves.

I love that Leo doesn't spoil the twists and treats each episode as if he doesn't know whats coming. Feeling bad for Emily and then seeing her true personality was a lot more entertaining then if Leo told us how she was from the first episode. Also it's obvious from the acting and turn of events that this is staged, but damn is it funny
This is the fakest thing I’ve ever seen. When Emily is doing the whole “gold digger” act, it’s terrible acting. You can practically see her reading the script. I’ve never understood why people agree to go on “reality” shows and be a bad guy. Sooo many people believe it’s all totally real and that there aren’t people behind the camera telling people exactly what to say and do.

I do want to say that if he had responded to just one of her texts on either talking to her or breaking up the entire house scene might have been avoided. Ghosting someone is not cool, and it can sometimes set people off. Frankly in this video all three people are toxic and abusive who seriously need therapy.
