    The Honda S2000 ROCKS! Everyone in history that has sold there S2000 has regretted it in shame 😔

      Exactly 😂. Same in my experience, like 80% of every ex s2k owner regrets selling

      Every S2K owner graduates to an Evo, or a BMW, then maybe a Porsche; then back to an S2K (as a second car).
      This is the way. 😅

    • @squicker
      @squicker ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yup, I sold my Evo FQ-330 to get my first S2000, which was the right decision. I then sold that S2000 and got a 911 (996 as that was the current gen at that time), but I really regretted that sale so a few years back bought another S2000 from my friend (single owner car over 15 years and she drove it like Miss Daisy!). Was just about to sell it and get a Boxter Spyder (a truly epic car in its own right), then decided I'd only regret this again so turned down the Spyder and am keeping my humble S2000 until I die.
      The only thing I am doing is putting a Milltek exhaust on there as the original is looking a bit worse for wear after 17 years, and I do want something a little more raspy, but not intrusive.

    The s2000 is the worst because it ruins the experience of other cars. The transmission feels like a precision rifle and is loud and revy. Best roadster ever!

    Great review of the legendary S2K and really appreciated the touches of humor. You are right in that it will bring a smile to your face. I've owned my AP1 S2K for 12 years now and it still brings a huge smile to my face when I hit the redline at 9000 rpm. It's an amazing car.

    The S2000 AP1 is the best little sports car I have ever owned. The suspension is outstanding, the engine has double the horsepower of the typical small sports car from the 1950's all the way to 2023. It is very balanced. It drives like a go-cart. The AP1 looks like a classic sports car, while the AP2 looks more modern and plastic

    I love that Honda made the effort to offer such a focused sports car in roadster form at the turn of the century - a car that was pretty basic in terms of creature comforts with an emphasis on maximizing driver involvement. While I enjoy what the S2000 has to offer, I recognize that this car is not for everyone. Working the manual gearbox while exploring the upper end of the RPM range on twisty backroads is exhilarating for some yet exhausting for others. Thankfully Honda saw to the needs of the first group as there was no shortage of other cars for the later group. It doesn't get much more visceral than driving a Honda S2000 with the top down.

    IF YOU'RE CHANGING GEARS IN THE S2000 AT 6K RPM, you're not NEARLY reaching it's potential (against a Lexus SUV) - of course you're getting owned because you don't know what you're doing. The fun of the S2000 is @6,000 rmp+ AND you've got no clue. Owning one is different. My son is 6'4" and fits fine. I've had the '04 S2000 since '07 and put 85,000 miles on it - it's bulletproof and a BLAST to dive, if you can find your way above 6,000 RPM!

    • @thetuneupAU
      @thetuneupAU  ปีที่แล้ว

      The s2000 is mega and I absolutely love it! Revving it to 9000rpm is one of life’s pleasures, it’s so visceral not many other cars can match the feeling; however when you’re not revving it all the way out, it’s not fast.. that’s all I was showing.. I could have been clearer in how I explained it. The reward of going all the way to 9000 is epic and the car loves to rev so you find yourself doing it often :)
