Between Superman and Spider-Man, they taught me to never give up and to always keep the faith, even tho the world is cruel, it’s a never ending battle for hope.
I've always loved how different yet related those 2 are. For all his power, Peter Parker is still at the mercy of the regular working class human experience and struggles, and his role as Spider-Man is an extension of that. Clark Kent on the other hand is as human as any one, but the image of Superman is larger than life and god like. They're two variations of the same struggle to enact strength, and faith in the idea of good while living the best and most honest version of their lives. The two of them are some of the finest expressions of human perseverance, resilience and hope in pop culture.
What an incredible analysis of numerous movies that have contributed so much to the culture of superheroes and all they personify. I have a clearer image and more of an appreciation for them now and the genre of movies as a whole- your explanations and storytelling shows a true love and appreciation for these movies as well. I’ll watch them in a different light and with more awe of the directors and actors for being able to bring these superheroes “to life”, so to say. Looking forward to your next upload!
