177cm Halibut for our guide Alex! | ENG SUBS

Our guide Alex hooks, lands and release a 177cm halibut. This fish is according to the chart around 77kg or 170lbs. He really deserved it after guiding 150cm+ fish for our guests two days in a row the days before. This fish completed his three days in a row 150cm+ hat trick. 24 landed fish in two boats this day and a great average so our guests had a super nice time despite the rainy weather.
Note how he is playing the fish on our custom made all american tackle rods. These rods are perfect and the deep action help you lift the big fish like nothing else will. It is almost cheating but really comes in handy when you hook the fish of your dreams. They dont ever blow up like most rods do when you set the hook properly on these fish. Since the action is so deep thay are really fun to play the smaller fish with aswell. We will produce and sell our own rods for halibut baitfishing. Take contact and pre order one if you are interested because you wont find a better suited rod for this type of fishing and they will come in a very limited series.
The line to the landing hook gets stuck in the baithook in the mouth when Daniel is trying to bring it through. That result in a moment of chaos but luckily the leader brake and the hook gets through when the fish starts to shake. No injurys on the fish and she was safely secured.
