Casting distance is fine Colin, the further you let the lures back the deeper they will swim generally, always mixing it up depending on what depth I want to fish 👍

I’ve never trolled before but I’m going to hire a boat soon , I might buy a trolling motor because it’s quite? , how do you know if the lures are dragging on the bottom I’ve no fish finder ! Have to get one of them on the wanted list 🤞, and advise could help massively on my first attempt, much appreciated 🙏
@colinhalligan8527 no pike aren’t frightened of the engine, it grabs their attention if anything. I’ve had pike grab the lure 2 meters behind the engine loads of times letting the line out. 👍 you will need to check the lures regularly to see if you’ve picked up weed, that’s just part of trolling 😁💪
