This is a brilliant episode. The "behind the scenes" of Bertgate is amazing.
Bert's Mom is next level genius, a true educator.
Suggestion: Partial or full episode of a fashion show of Bert's speedo collection. With Leanne as MC as Bert walks a runway (backyard). Invite some of Bert's friends and family to sit along the runway and critique.
(Imagine if you could get Tom Segura, Bill Burr to also be models LMAO).
In the car with my parents at 6am with full anxiety and this is the only thing calming me down on this nerve-wracking Thanksgiving day. Thank you ladies.

I know Gege from my work here in Florida, She is exactly what you see on screen. So glad I found this podcast, great points on anxiety. I could listen to Gege all day long about almost anything. The last time I saw her I told her my husbands #1 on his bucket list is have a drink with Bert!! We had been watching him for a while but I had no clue that My Boss's Boss was Bert's Mom... Still in shock!!

Now I get why I love Bert so much beyond the fact I identify with his anxiety.
People that don't experience that anxiety are there for him anyway, trying to understand it.
Welcome to my world Gigi, I too have been coughing for years. I've been to the MD, he told me I'll get tired of his testing before he finds out why. I went to the allergist, I'm not overly allergic to anything. I went to the ENT, he said I got really sick at some point and now my brain thinks I need to cough and any little irritant. He prescribed a nebulizer and a numbing agent. He said it would retrain my brain. The problem is I was supposed to do it every hour for two weeks. It's a 15 minute process. Who has that kind of time!
Gege is the most wonderful, beautiful, smart, 70 year old mom. No disrespect to Al or Bert. great interview LeeAnn, again

Like many others I'm sure, I loved "meeting" Gege and it's so great to see someone that can have such a great discussion with their Mother-in-law and see both of you appreciate and respect each other. Unfortunately, it's not a dynamic that we see much in "pop culture" and probably not enough in real life either. Happy Thanksgiving!

Mastif type dogs are such great protecters but they never turn it off. All they want is to protect their person or their "flock" as they were used for herding originally. We have a Weimaraner and even he has too much mastif type stuff to deal with. Separation anxiety is definitely an issue.
Holy Sh!* does Bert look like his Mom! The Eyes, nose and Especially Mouth are spot on Bert. But she seems lovely so I don't know where Bert gets it from.

In the moment of anxiety, I think it would be really difficult to acknowledge that someone else “doesn’t get it” in a logical and kind way. Anxiety itself is not rational. It’s emotional. What you’re saying about you not being wired that way is totally rational and I get it now, but if I were in my anxiety I wouldn’t be able to understand it. I think it’s one of those arguments you win by waiting. Because once he’s out, he’ll get it.

i might be a kreischer. i wanted to learn to skateboard so i bought 5 different styles. the longboard is my favorite. i also have 30 pairs of shoes and i wear about 25 of them regularly. i have doubles of 3 of my favorite pairs. oh and at least 20 jackets. i like jackets.
