I’m a Lease Purchase drivers here at prime success leasing told me you can’t have duals while under primes authority. But my friend truck has them. Then they said it has to be paid off. No straight answer from anyone here.

Lease ops should have the choice between duals and singles, fuel is coming out of our pockets and we're responsible for the cost when road service has to bring out a wheel in addition to a new tire. Been down that road before and duals have a much more stable ride and at the least, you can limp down the road.

Who are the right mind hangs tire chains behind the Jules number one don’t use a Flippin tire chains. If it’s that bad shut it down but who in the heck hang some at the very back of the tractor where they get full of crap.
Im sure stupid singles have some benifit other than saying the tractor has 6 wheels instead of 10. But duels you can limp the truck if needed when you have a blow out. I never noticed any really fuel advantages to either.

I’ve been running them for over a million miles and never had an issue. I won’t ever go back to duals. This may have been a freak accident or hit something you didn’t notice. Since your tpms didn’t trigger that would be my thought.

Yea it sucks when you have a blow out, but how many years have you been running and this is your first? And its a freak thing. All those years you were getting better fuel economy, less strain on your truck, better ride, better handling, and theyre just safer. Lets not let the 1 negative erase years and years of positives. I bet if you did the math youre still ahead running wide base.
You gave a figure for weekly cost so to this. I’d challenge you to do it over all the miles you’ve ran with wide singles. Over your time at Prime how many miles have you ran and how many blowouts did you have on the truck. Don’t go counting trailer tires because you can’t control those.

I've been running super singles for over 10 years. Been put on the shoulder 3 times with flats on truck but none of them were blow outs.
