    fear of death is a very recent thing and only a human thing. no animal will choose 50 years of living torture instead of fighting it to death. most animals fear pain and will attack fiercely to deny pain, but will not fear dying. most of present humans however would rather choose a lifetime of pain instead of at least trying to fight off the tyrant.

    God doesn't send you to hell, he just doesn't let you into heaven. It's because anywhere that isn't heaven is hell. Anywhere that you can't experience the beatific vision. We are born with a soul, it's when we betray that soul that we betray ourselves. How can we view the animating purpose of the universe when we betray our own souls, our destiny?

      Everyone in hell is there by free choice. Hell is only eternal because you got deceived into desiring your torment, into desiring to be separated from God, because you as a sinner became to blind to see that the door to heaven is right to next to you and you could step into mercy at any moment. Yet you are too blind to trust in God and forgive God and be forgiven by God, because you don't want to be happy anymore, you only want misery for all. This is hell. And this is a possible you, a you for whom misery is eternal, for he defines himself by it, and only exists through it, exists as nothing but a complaint alone, broken down to a mere vessel for demonic anguish.

    I always found it interesting how even the most secular or atheistic studies of world religions, always finds similar themes and stories, even similar gods and beings.
    Is it a phenomenon of human psychology, influence by entities, or simply a universal truth? idk.

      @Jack Francis that was true until Jesus. his missionaries spread and his word followed. the Mongols/Chinese were Christians. maybe it didnt reach the Americas. But behind more religions than naught is Satan. dont be fooled. there is a war for your soul. Any religion which hides its "truths" from you is sure damnation. The path to heaven is narrow. the path to hell is as wide as the horizon.

      Apparently the argument that Tolkien made to CS Lewis was just this: The myths written that reflect the themes such as heroic sacrifice were inspired by God, and Jesus was the myth coming to life. Eventually this led CS Lewis to refute atheism and convert to Christianity

    Paradise Lost is a philosophical book with Biblical themes telling the story of Lucifer's banishment from Heaven, fight from Chaos, and his incursion into Paradise (Eden) the important part is that even when Satan was in Paradise, he still mentally resided in Hell as the true Hell was the one he created for himself, the mental cage of sin and negativity that he carried with him. I believe that this is a fantastic example of the belief that God doesn't send us to Heaven or Hell, instead he grants us the existence we gave ourselves, he allows us to languish in the Hell we crafted or he blesses us with a Paradise we built for ourselves. Just a thought. This world is a crucible for humanity and our choices matter

    • @fiddlesticks7245
      @fiddlesticks7245 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@iamfreedman6880 In a way, yes actually. Paradise Lost's overarching theme is that those in Hell are unlikely to ever escape it due to the fact that the true Hell dwells in our minds, not in our surroundings. We cannot escape that which we bring everywhere we go.
      Those children of molestation are victims of malicious human action, not God, while those children with wholesome lives likewise have the diligence of their parents protecting them to thank, virtuous human action. A much better question for you ask is why some children are afflicted with spontaneous and incurable conditions at birth, as those happen in absence of any human choice.
      I get that you were saying some snotty maladjusted atheist shit, but you had the opportunity to ask a remotely relevant question and instead fumbled the bag. A great example of how ungrateful and unintelligent people abuse their gifts of conscience and speech.

    I like when Charls brings up how there are concepts which are incredibly good (possibly the most good concepts in existance), but that we struggle to understand because the words for said concepts have been removed from our language. The funny thing is, the name "English" is derived from the Indo-European root "ang" meaning "bent". The term "Anglo-Saxon" comes from "Angi" which was a phrase used by the Romans to describe Northwestern Europeans and directly translates to "the Bent ones". Anyone whos farmiliar with CS Lewis knows exactly what that means. This is not a coincidence.

    In the name of God, the Most Glorious!
    Glorified art Thou, O Lord my God! This is one of the days of Thy Riḍván Festival whereon Thou didst shed the splendour of Thy name, the All-Merciful, upon all the peoples of the earth, and didst manifest Thy power and Thy sovereignty unto all created things. Thou seest, O Lord, how on this day one of Thy loved ones hath invited the Manifestation of Thine Essence from His room to another room in this prison, wherein a gathering hath been held in Thy name and adorned with the ornament of Thine own Self, in such wise that the Sun of Thy beauty hath shone forth above its horizon. Blessed be the one who hath attained thereunto, blessed the day that hath been honoured with Thy revelation, and blessed the land that hath been illumined by the light of Thy Countenance.
    O Lord! Ordain for him, and for Thy servants who have been hindered from meeting Thee, the recompense decreed for such as have attained Thy presence and convened a gathering to exalt Thy name and Thy remembrance. Write down, then, for them what Thou hast written down for such as enjoy near access to Thee. Thy might, in truth, is equal to all things.

    On the topic of perennial philosophy, I think all religions appear to be similar or even identical, but only superficially. I think when you really dissect the underlying fundamentals, for example the differences between mono and polytheism, or unitarianism and trinitarianism, you’ll find the implications that arise render them black and white. Jay Dyer has some great stuff on this kind of theology x philosophy. I’m just regurgitating

    The Bible is not meant to be interpreted outside of the context of the Church, which Christ established and passed on to the apostles, who through apostolic succession have maintained the scriptural AND oral traditions of the church to this day (in my opinion in the Orthodox church). It simply doesn’t make sense to take the reformed approach to interpreting scripture and reject the church, because they work in tandem.
    There are two millennia of church teachings that truly illuminate the scripture, because masters of spiritually, saints of the church, dedicated their lives to interpreting scripture in a holistic manner, where one verse must be understood in a way where it does not contradict another.
    By the way Charls, what we’re referring to when you said Christ said “there is no Church and no priests” etc? I’m no expert on scripture.

    27 So the servants of the householder came and said unto him, Sir, didst not thou sow good seed in thy field? from whence then hath it tares?
    28 He said unto them, An enemy hath done this. The servants said unto him, Wilt thou then that we go and gather them up?
    29 But he said, Nay; lest while ye gather up the tares, ye root up also the wheat with them.
    30 Let both grow together until the harvest: and in the time of harvest I will say to the reapers, Gather ye together first the tares, and bind them in bundles to burn them: but gather the wheat into my barn.

    I’m a catholic, and the reason why we call Mary blessed, or full of grace (i.e: “Hail Mary, full of grace”) is because she was the one who was called to carry Christ in the womb. To be the one to carry the messiah is to be truly blessed. She is called the mother of God because Jesus Christ is God in the flesh of man. Man cannot be alive without mother. This does not mean however that she is god herself. She did not come before Jesus either. Jesus himself said “Before Abraham, I AM”, meaning that Jesus has been around. God is also triune, being 3 persons but one God. God the Father, God the Son, God the Holy Spirit. Mary is the mother of God, but not in the typical way. You can’t view it from a human lens. She is the mother of God in the way that she birthed Christ (God, the son). She is the mother in the way that she raised and nurtured Him. But I do agree with you that Catholicism at its root is very gnostic, and it’s far deeper than anyone can imagine. Great vid bro, I love your content.

    Read the first verse of the Bible, it says „In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth.“… and it was very good.
    Hell entered the picture later, when Eve listened to satan, instead of God - and satan became the women‘s god - and Adam listened to Eve - and the woman became the men‘s god -, this is when all hell broke loose, literally.
    The hope of mankind is the new heaven and earth, where we live reunited with God. That‘s why he sent his Christ, to bring us back to the father, Jesus is the second Adam, the son of man.

    • @da-p6814
      @da-p6814 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Adam didn't eat the fruit because Eve told her to - he ate the fruit because he saw that she didn't die upon eating it. He trusted limited empirical evidence over the word of God. That's how the divine masculine falls. Of course, he wouldn't have had that empirical evidence if Eve hadn't been led astray first, and she did encourage him, so she's still a culprit. The spirit of the fallen Eve can be seen in hedonism and new age movements, but the spirit of the fallen Adam can be seen in atheist materialism

    God is all holy and all good. Humans are a mixed bag. All of us have evil in us, a lot in fact according to the standard of God. So how can evil...even a little bit be with God? It can’t...or God wouldn’t be all good and all holy. That’s why he sent Jesus to take all our sin. No man is righteous. If you’re not covered by Jesus (who is sinless, and paid the debt for you) then you can’t be with God. We are saved by grace.

    there is no church and no priests? he should reread Acts and the Letters beyond the synoptic gospels, also we know from extrabiblical sources that the first bishop even knew living apostles, the church father writings from as early as C96 also make this very clear. Christ said he will protect his church and not even the gates of hell will prevail against it. This would mean he lied or failed to protect it right after he ascended into heaven until today, that is comically stupid

      I'm not sure what Jesus specifically said about the future being fake, but you say that Jesus basically said it is, in so many words - that seems like a potent concept to explore.
      I mention v.a.l.i.s for how PKD is shown that the modern world is essentially a hologram superimposed over actual reality, and that underlying reality being unchanged since the time of Jesus, and all still being in the presence of Christ - and that this projection cloaking it was initiated by the roman empire, and this "hologram" is what is referred to when stating that the empire never ended. I would love to examine what Jesus said about the future being fake, and more about this concept in general.

    Have you read about the Anu and how so many mysteries, at least according to available translations and reading in between the lines of root words of translations and so called original texts, seem to present this thing as the seeming root of creation and how seemingly both good and evil sides across "history" (which has been faked) seem to worship it? The thought that everything is just made for some purpose of slavery, that there is no loving God or a savior for the good and everything is a fractaling Hell? That somehow even Jesus fell into this scheme or that what we think we know about his benevolence was somehow another mistranslation, a misdirection or a version of another myth that somehow actually points to something bad?
    I'm sure you probably have. How did you overcome the cosmic doom and dread of it all and establish a firm faith that there's a loving ultimate power? That there IS something stronger than evil gods that really cares about us and we're not facing things alone in a losing battle? Or if we are.. that there's actually a way out? I need some strength.
