I would like to know the actual hotel that gave you the issues. My wife is a GM of a Best Western and she thinks this is crap. I would be willing to have her make some inquiries and see if she can get them to remove him from that position.

For fishing, motels, camping, and cabins are usually good bets. Especially camping. Some sites even have electric and water hook up and an outhouse showerhouse with running water on site. And it's easier and cheaper than fucking around with overpriced stupid corporate owned rooms.
Getting kicked out of a hotel for plugging an extension cord in at 12 am - come on Dom. Most hotels, you need to set the place on fire to get kicked out.

I work at a hotel as well, and the extension cord is a problem because its a triping hazard and the hotel is liable to be sued by the persons or person that could have triped over it and as for the trailer your supposed to call ahead for our hotel minimum 24 hours and he would have to park it behind the hotel and the truck could be parked right next to it only taking up what 4 spaces but keeping it hitched like that is taking up 7 or 8 spots and thats a problem, i deal with these kind of people quite a bit and i believe dom did the right thing honestly but thats my opinion so ya

dick move to park that way. I use to tourney fish for walleye and no one ever parked like that. Back it in and unhitch it. We always called ahead to make sure we could run a cord to boat to charge the batteries. Not one Motel/hotel ever said no.

I travel with 8-12 of my staff members when I do motivational events, I will NOT be staying at Best Western again! Seriously ridiculous. I’m not sure why it was such a big deal to unplug your cord and move your boat to the corner (Youth issue for sure), but Best Western failed miserably at handling this too.
I can understand their point about the cord, don't really agree but can understand, but the moving the boat at 11:30 and calling the cops to kick them out when they said they'd leave in the morning and then being mad that your voice not face being recorded while you're being a tool late at night... Love that he was recorded saying it's not the company rules but just theirs.

You pull into a hotel, ask if they'll accommodate you and your boat, and if you can plug it in for a bit. They say yes and you stay there. If they say no you move on and grow up.

This is insane. I was the night manager at a HoJo near a large lake and we went out of our way to accommodate the bass fishermen and their boats. You want to plug in? ABSOLUTELY.

My uncles Tour Company that operates in Florida sometimes uses Best Western (there are many hotels to chose from btw) to accommodate the tour bus guests, will tell him to stay away. I'm his favorite cause he has no children. SO he listens to me.
I mean, you pulled in and took up about a dozen parking spaces, ran an extension cord (costs $$$) ACROSS the parking lot, and then challenged the manager to a face to fave when he asked you to unplug...
Make any excuses you want, but I can almost guarantee you would've avoided that whole altercation with a little bit of humility. Especially as a clearly affluent white male, it really wasn't that hard to avoid getting kicked out.

Andrew Mooney first of all... how would anyone lose their job over a truck and trailer being allowed to be parked for one night? Secondly, there was a ridiculous number of open parking spots open and they were parked on the side of the hotel where nobody wants to park anyways. People need to learn to use discretion when making decisions like this. 11:30 PM, not causing anyone to be inconvenienced, and probably less than 6 hours before they were going to leave. Idiotic decision that absolutely caused Best Western to lose business.

"have alot to learn about life" brother you have a lot to learn if youre siding with a child who threw a fit and refused to abide by hotel policies and then doxed the worker. it was a tripping hazard and if someone were to hurt themselves that responsibility relies on the hotel not these dumb kids who catch stocked bass and sell overpriced plastic baits for a living. he did his job and these clowns did everything in their power to complicate the situation.

This is one of my biggest concerns when I travel with a trailer. Whether it’s a boat or ATVs. I usually check google maps and see if there’s a big parking lot like this one. Then I feel ok. Apparently this one is not.
Anyone else think it’s perfectly reasonable for a hotel to 1. Want to know that you’re parking a trailer in their lot, 2. Not want you to tap in to electricity you’re not paying for, and 3. Not want extension cords across walkways where someone can trip and sue the hotel? Couldn’t all this drama have been avoided if AP unplugged and moved the boat?

This is what I have learned in my half century of living... there are times you are in the right but are wrong. See this whole thing started when you didn't just say ok. If you just said ok, we will remove the cord when first asked, it would have been interesting to see how it would have ended. We did not get to see what was said from the start, but from some place in the middle. What I seen was you not listening to him, you kept trying to "make deals". On the other end you know the guy is getting pissed off, so it goes up. Then you show up at the front desk, have someone filming, and you ended up where you put yourself. What that hotel right... well the cord yes, and if you did not inform them you had a trailer, yes they are right about that, you do need to let them know. Empty parking lot or not. I love your videos even tho I do not fish. I suggest that in the future, maybe try a little yes mam, no mam, yes sir, no sir. As I stated at the start, you can be right, but you are in the wrong. That was not worth arguing over, and it caused you to get kicked out. Life lesson... the are sooo fun.

I know I'm a little late on the matter, but Peric was not in the wrong. The whole situation could have been handled differently, yes. However, if they didn't have a policy to show customers that they cannot plug in an extension cord into their outlets, if they didn't have any signs posted that they cannot record videos, and if they did not have a sign posted where to park oversized vehicles... Then it's clearly just the night manager on a power trip.
