I loved my blue and chrome Schwinn Debbie bike that Santa brought when I was 8 years old.

I'm so surprised that this channel doesn't get a lot more views. It's just as good as Recollection Road!

Recollection Road is awesome, so we take this as a great compliment! Thanks for watching and for your support!

This channel is newer. I'm convinced both channels are by the same person. The voices sound very similar, just a slightly different pitch due to the magic of mixers / software. Both channels use same background music. While both channels cover the same topics (Montgomery Ward for example), the videos have unique information, so it's worth watching the vids on each channel. I'm subbed to both channels and enjoy everything posted. 😀

In 1982 Mom and Dad bought me a Schwinn Thrasher. I still have that bike. Dad had several Schwinns and said they were the best bikes that money could buy. I put o ton of miles on that bike and it never once let me down. Thanks Mom, Dad, and Schwinn.

In 1969 I received a Schwinn 5-speed "grey ghost" stingray with its banana seat. It looked just like the "lemon peeler" bike in the Captain Kangaroo photo in this video, albeit grey and not yellow.
My eight-year old self thought I was the coolest person ever on wheels and all the neighborhood kids were envious. That bike at the time was my most treasured possession. Thanks for this video and the memories you help my re-capture.

Wow! That was truly a RARE piece, Scott! Like you, I rec'd a "Campus Green" Sting Ray for my 12th birthday in Chicago. Kept it shiney & presentable for 45 years before selling it for $300.

My 1st childhood treasure--- In 1969, my parents bought me a TWO-Speed (kick-back) Schwinn Sting Ray Deluxe for my 12th birthday from RUDY'S BIKE SHOP in Chicago. I wanted the 5-Speed Stick-shift, but my dad did not trust BOTH brakes to be caliper. It was "Campus Green", and I owned/maintained it - then hung it up in my man-cave wall - until I sold it for $300 in 2013. What % of men actually keep a near-pristine childhood bike for 45 years?? Speaks highly of Schwinn design & craftsmanship!

Cool! My 67 year old brother still has the Apple Krate my dad gave him in the late 1960s. Same sentiment…. meant so much to him as a kid he has never wanted to part with it.

I am still riding Schwinn. I have a Boundary I use for trails and bike packing. I got to see a little Schwinn love at the end of Ford vs. Ferrari it was in the scene Shelby was giving the speech about the usefulness of a wrench to Miles son. Love that movie.

I have saved my 1959 20" Schwinn Tornado! Loved that bike. I heard they are all Chinese made now.

I remember as a boy in the 80's all boys wanted either a Schwinn or a Mongoose bicycle depending on whether you wanted to race a 10 speed (Schwinn) or dirt bike (Mongoose). What a time. BMX was also a popular brand.

One heavy duty son of a gun. I still have a couple but back in the day I didn’t have the money for one I had to settle for a Murray big mistake. The first one I got I traded a blue Jean jacket for it.. it had no brakes at all. No problem. Brown with the big frame varsity. I never lost a race. It’s not how fancy the bike is it’s who’s pushing the pedals.
