    8:02 use hot-glue and a multiple small dowel stick to pop those screw covers off. The hot glue only needs to harden just enough to pop those out. And clean the hot-glue off those covers right away when still somewhat soft. Glue a stick to each cover, pop all of them out, clean the glue off.

    Thanks for the helpful video. Viewers, here are some details about releasing the door from its cables and the tracks. Follow at your own risk.
    Before removing the sliding door, detach both a wiring harness and a cable from the inside of the door. To detach the cable, follow it to a little black box near the middle of the door, measuring roughly 1/2"x1"x4" Notice two small plastic nubs that serve as a hinge on one end. On the opposite end, "pick" two little latches to open the box. Opening the "box" reveals a plastic "neck". Disconnect the "neck", then unseat the (main) cable. Now disconnect the bottom of the door panel from its mounting hardware (3 screws) so you can fish the wires and cable out of the door panel. Watch your fingers while removing those screws--the door will shift as it adjusts to be hanging by only two rollers.
    Soon we'll roll the door off the upper track, then off the middle track. Have two chairs handy to rest the front and back end of the door on.
    We'll be releasing the door at the upper track next, but first, lets take care of some things on the middle track so that we don't have surprises. Remove the plastic cap at the end of the middle roller track so that we don't have to fuss with it later. We don't want the door to roll off the middle track unexpectedly while this cap is removed, so dangle a large nail through two holes at the end of the track to serve as a temporary roller stopper.
    To release the door from the upper track, slide the door to its normal fully open position where the door's two rubber bumpers butt up against the body of the van. Detach both bumpers, being careful that the door doesn't roll off the upper track prematurely after their removal (think slope). Place a chair under the front of the door, hold the weight of the door, roll the door off the upper track, and lower the weight of the front end onto the chair. Have an assistant keep the door balanced upright as it sits on the chair. We don't want to lower the front end to the ground yet since it would twist the rollers that are still in the middle track at the back of the door.
    Go to the back of the door, place a chair under it in anticipation of setting the door on it. Remove your temporary stopper nail from the middle track. With your assistant, coordinate sliding the door off the back of the middle rail while making sure it rests on both chairs when done.

    Thanks for making the video. I wish you had shown a little bit more about taking off and putting back the cable for the door handle to release the door. Must have been an issue since you didn't talk much about it.

      Oh yeah, it’s a really common problem on these cars! We’ll cross the fingers and hope it’s not as bad as our door :D
      It’s a really tedious job but with some time and sweat you can do it! 💪🏽

    Hi ! Great video , but what was the point of the body sealant ? Thanks

    • @MonteCartinos
      @MonteCartinos  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hey there, thanks a lot 😊
      We used the body sealant to fill up the holes made buy the rust, create an even and smooth surface were to paint on and we also used to create channels for the water to flow on 😊
