How is your car now? I bought mine 2018 just rumbles when I'm stopped at the light but if I put it in park it's ok I might of ran it too hard not letting it warm up enough.
The spider and the little bigfoot decall on rear glass are just whimsical stuff by a 25 year old designer. Did a great job. Also, the X on the tail lights are a memorial to world war 2 jeeps Americans had. The glass reservoirs on tanks they would attach had Xs on them.
SuperDeut4 I believe the spider near the gas can is Jeep/Fiat poking fun at Mazda...Mazda made a capless port as well but had issues with spiders building nests in the tanks
We have a 2016 Renegade Limited Edition. Owned maybe 6 months. No issues but only gets drove in the City. Limited highway driving. No off road. I like the fact that it has true 4x4 capabilities. Not just slip and grip like many small SUVs. I cannot understand why with so many vehicles sold with 215/65/17 tires there are no all terrain or even a light duty mud tire available for these vehicles,or Compass or Patriot. Ours has 18 inch rubber - would rather have 17 inch - price really jumps from 17 to 18 inch.
I bought a latitude edition a week ago and I love it. I had double hand surgery and my hands are weak. So I appreciate not having to struggle with a gas cap!
Italian Jeep is a fun ride. Options are already installed at factory not to much to pick from except for 4x4 or 2x4 in the 4 different model styles. Trailhawk has an extra low gear that none of the others have that lets it crawl over small boulders and washouts. Clearance is better entrance wise, same on exit. I own the 4x4 with manual 6 speed and it has been very reliable in the 6 months I have driven it. Still finding little quirks that make the drive exciting. Great mileage with the 1.4 turbo engine.
i think where it says no step on the plastic is to prevent dirt and dust getting between the doors like the door hinge. because on the new nissan juke i have found dirt and dust gets up between the door very easy
missthemusicinme I have a 2017 dolor yellow renegade and it has 10k miles on it, great Jeep but now I’m having electrical problems with it so be careful when picking these out! I love my Jeep but it is now considered the lemon law now, good luck with your next Jeep, and pay attention to how it drives and handles
I'm thinking about getting one of these... I have a Grand Cherokee (an older one) and want something with better MPG, yet that's still a Jeep. I'm going for the Latitude like this one, 4X4, 2.4L, with the 9-speed automatic.
i have a 2015 Jeep Renegade latitude trim. its a fun car and its very practical. cruises well on the highway, firm handling, and it feels pretty damn good on rugged gravel roads.
I had one of these in Limited trim as a rental. Overall I was pleasantly surprised - it was "upgrade" from what I reserved but I came to like it. I found 3 key faults on what otherwise was a nice vehicle... the engine shook HARD at idle (yet just a light touch of the throttle totally smoothed it out), the automatic transmission had too many useful gears - which became an issue when driving on the highway and you wanted to gently accelerate (needed to downshift 2 or 3 gears just for a gentle speed increase) and most frustrating was NO remote or inside release for the tailgate AND the release is completely hidden. When Googling how to open the dang thing, I found some models have a release hidden on the remote, but my rental had remote start and that deletes that option. Fix the engine idle, reprogram the transmission (heck, I'd be happy with a manual) and I'd buy one.
I'm in school to be a mopar mechanic I freaking love dodge and jeep. My first car is an old beat up 2009 journey. Im thinking about getting a 2017 trailhawk as my first car payment car figured I'd stick with my brand so I can do any work myself plus I love little suvs
Best review on 2017 Jeep Renegade online. Period :) it's a pity that Jeep's website is crap and doesn't allow you to pretty much pick anything. I hope that in any dealership you can actually add things in the way you want it. I have one question for you: is there any big difference between the Latitude and the Trailhawk? Can both use the -/+ gear change? Thanks!
I have the 2016 trailhawk, like it a lot just wished the rear camera was inside behind & top side of window where water droplets won't obscure the rear view! Also high enough to view with trailer in tow.
The 2016 Jeep Renegade Trailhawk SUV has a recurring power seat problem that prevents the use of the 8-way and lumbar functions. The problem causes the driver seat to freeze and lock into a position on the seat floor tracks. This could create a serious problem in the event of an emergency. The dealer service department is clueless on fixing the problem.
Would you recommend this to someone who knows nothing about cars/straight out of college? (Me). I hear nothing but great things about jeep, the car fits into my budget and it seems like a great investment.
Taylor Marie Get the Kia Soul. Even the Base (entry-level) model has lots of nice stuff inside. Although if you're wanting more, the Exclaim (which is what I have) is equipped with a panoramic sunroof, a Harmon-Kardon sound system and an 8 inch touch screen. I think it beats the Jeep hands down.
Great review, Mike. I really love the styling of this new not so sub-compact suv. It looks pretty spacious compared to its competitors. Also, it can go off road and has one of the best infotainment systems in its class. It's only down fall is its reliability..... Keep up the impeccable work, Mike! -DriveAndBeDriven "The Quest To Record The Best!"
he is probably referring the fact that Jeep is Chrysler and Mopar doesn't have the best track record. HOWEVER, every brand has their golden child, or rather, Trim/Badge/Edition. If your going to buy jeep, expect less than spectacular reliability unless you buy their top of the line, IE look for the "Trail Rated" badge, just my opinion.
I have a question about the rengede doesnt the back windshield wipers automatically comes on every other minute when the front ones are on when it's raining
This vehicle had 19 miles on it. To find out how reliable a vehicle is... look for videos by owners that have driven their vehicle for several years. I recently made a video of my 2016 Challenger that I drove over 100k miles talking about my experience with it. If you want predicted (educated guess) reliability ratings then JD power does a decent job.
@@MikesCarInfo yeah your right. I noticed after watching many of your videos, you just do walk around etc., not drive reviews. I also have a 2016 challenger( sxt v6 model). Been flawless so far. Thanks for your review!
Just wondering and I really hope you or someone who knows can answer me: Is the 12volt accessibility like the Toyota Prius where one can plug in say a small appliance into 12 volt and not run the vehicle’s battery down?
the beats stereo was considered an upgrade? honestly probably the worst sounding stereo for a new car i've ever heard..I did like the 4wd mode..the big sky roof etc..
A nice SUV/crossover... this POS FIAT can´t even compete offroad with an old XJ Cheorkee Sport. I tried one for a month, and it just broke apart in trails harder that your average city park. Nice if you want to always drive it in roads, a piece of crap in anything but.
I love how this Jeep looks and all... But I'm kinda scared of buying after seeing the brake test of the Renegade, looking at the back tires grab some airtime. (th-cam.com/video/dCEthdH7iYw/w-d-xo.html) Thank you for the in depth review!
OMG. These are junk. Fiat engineered. Not off road worthy. Best JEEP is a late eighties early 90’s Comanche. I’d avoid late pretend Jeeps like the plague.
Thanks for reviewing a lower trim model, everyone else is just t focusing on the trailhawk.
Thank you so much for posting an authentic video compared to all those robotic voiced ones. Keep up the videos please! Thanks!
Finally, a review of the non-4x4, non-trailhawk trim.
I love this car, I own one myself and its really great!
DinkaDaily, what about the air conditioning? I heard it gets bad through time

Great tutorial!... I have searched through many but you actually did the job.

If you care about Reliability? Don’t. Get a real JEEP, a Cherokee from 87-92 range are wonderful
Thanks so much! I understand my new Jeep so much better!
Nice and clean review!! Renegade may be launched in India next year and your review was helpful to get to know the vehicle!
These things have one of the largest blind spots I have ever seen, despite not being a very large vehicle.

It might as well be a 2 door SUV with the room in the back, but I like this car, might get it
It's actually got great room in the back for a compact. you can really compare it to a full size, otherwise you're looking to be disapointed.
Good review. Wish you would drive the cars to add to your impression.
This is a very convenient and practical first "serious" car. Thanks for the great review.

good detailing....
I'm planning to get a jeep .. I'm still confuse which is the best one for me.. a sport Wrangler , a compass or this renegade? Can you help me guys ☺️
Excellent walkthrough like I would have gone through :) Waiting for India Launch in 2018 for now
Thinking of getting third car soon

Sounds like a good idea :)

Can you review a 2017 Dodge Dart?
I'll try :)
MikesCarInfo I have the Sport with the 6 Speed Stick it is a lot of fun to drive
I love when they used the word plastic a lot. It makes it sound to expensive!
All vehicles have plastic interiors including the most expensive :)
I love it!!!😍😍
Cute little Jeep!💕
WOV YA LIL RENEGADE!!

DriveAndBeDriven Why reliability issue?
Yeah, what did you mean by the reliability being its downfall?

Reliability concerns is a pretty giant downfall
I have a question about the rengede doesnt the back windshield wipers automatically comes on every other minute when the front ones are on when it's raining
How’s your fuel consumption so far with JeepRenegade
Like Km/L or Mpg ( Miles per Gallon)
Does the Renegade have Electric Power Steering?? I cant find the Reservoir tank for steering!
Yes it is electric
Great review, but why doesn't anyone ever talk about reliability? That really is a deciding factor in all car buying.

Will a navigation app show when u connect ur phone?
Yes, it has Android auto and apple car play which allows this. I think the Trailhawks may have built in GPS but don't quote me on that.
He def asserted his manhood with that no purse comment
i think the shifting sucks any help to fix 9speed
I just picked this up at my local jeep/Dodge dealer. I don't know what the hell my engine is!
P.s. remember me Mike? (Reply if you do.)
Did you have another user name?
Yeah
I hope Franklin doesn't do repo on this jeep 😂.
I can't help but be impressed with this little Fiat... The undercarriage looks quite nice and it seems the quality continues throughout.
Can you install a hitch on this one?
Low key has a purse
the beats stereo was considered an upgrade? honestly probably the worst sounding stereo for a new car i've ever heard..I did like the 4wd mode..the big sky roof etc..
Awesome
I Got The 9 Speed Auto The Shifting Sucks Any Way To Fix????
Make sure it has had all the software updates from the dealer.
Beautiful car 😍😍😭
Its built in Italy? Hmm odd
Any idea how to take the ship mode off ?
I think there is a fuse that needs to be pushed in under the hood... there could be more to it but that is what I remember anyway.
I love this car is have the 2016 trailhawk
Elijah White Yeah, it's a cheaper alternative to a wrangler. That actually gives you what you pay for.
I wanna see the radio look 1😫😫😫😫

How's the Fiat engine owners?
Head light is very sempal
cool car but little expensive
what about the air conditioning? I heard it gets bad through time
I thought they got rid of the spare tire.
+thewirah1 It's optional.
OK, thanks.
cool FIAT 😅
Tadream 1207 lol no 😂
Yes its a Fiat...no joke
Tadream 1207 oh come
On, its at least capable for a little off road
Its a Fiat but its good😅
