Loved the video! I agree 100% with Scott, healing in Cata is significantly harder than in Wotlk, but at the same time, it is significantly more fun and engaging!
i remember back in retail cata, i was main resto druid and it was insanely fun , also beign able to figure out stuff the first times at majordomo and balsting heals as solo healer or hc rag to manage the enrage check

I did all of the 10m content back in original Cata using a Disc(Atonement) and Resto Shaman. Worked great.
I love playing a resto druid and I started playing seriously on cata as a reato druid. After going through classic I cannot fucking wait for the swift mend boost that green circle is amazing, being able to direct a raid by using myself as a heal bomb when people aren't in great positions is such a damn good feeling and tranq affecting a whole raid rather than just party should have happened in tbc let alone 3 expansions later like ffs. Classic was literally just blanket the raid with rejuv and swift mend when needed to snipe out paladins. And best of all is that mace from dragon soul aww soo damn good I can't wait to go hard on cata as I was in a 10 man during those days and 10 man hc was considerably harder than 25 due to the pure lack of cc where 25 mantas that in spades

I REALLY like the healing changes in Cata. It is much more difficult, from mana management, to having to use more of your kit, to the increase in difficulty of dungeon and raid content. It's rough until you're at cap with decent gear, but you actually have to play your class properly instead of just spamming the same 1-2 buttons. I'd take that any day.
At the 6 and a half minute mark @Mijae says you can't spam chain heal for a whole fight without going oom, this is 100% false. If you are geared you have no mana issues as rsham. Source: trust me bro I main rsham

I love how in this expansion you can pick any healing spec and if you are good you do well... skill is FAR more valuable than what you pick. In fact, as long as you avoid Frost Mage for PvE (outside of specific fights where it is good ) and BM Hunters for PvE and Fury in general you can do well. Some of them take more work than others (Prot Warrior is a good example where the more you put into it the more value you can get out), but if you are good enough you can do fantastic.
Poor Fury though... not good in PvE or PvP (Arms is ALWAYS better). If there was any spec to buff in this xpac that is the one.
It's funny that you mention Fury. I used to co-lead a guild with my Cousin and he played warrior. I played Enh Shaman but switched to Blood DK to tank for our raid team because we needed someone reliable to be the main tank, and my cousin refused to be the main tank as Prot. Not only that, he also refused to play Arms lol. Other than that stubbornness, it brings back some great memories. Can't wait for Cata classic!
On this topic as exped healer in cata id say holy priest will bring everyone for a loop. Such a sleeper spec
It's harder in the sense that you do have to be smarter. TBC and WotLK are very just to know your lane and spam it.
Cata, you have to understand where health is at, whether it needs to be healed, healed later, or healed now as the first thought.
Then what spell do you use after that first thought. Does it need to be quick, cheap, and effective, big and slow? Wrong choices can be to slow or burn all your resources.
Then, a final round of does this need a CD to prop up to make it, though? To be aggressive, and you dont get it when you really need it. Never use it, and those resources crumble.
Overall, it's a lot more interesting. Mistakes are possible. It's harder to recover, but it's still recoverable.
Overall, it's a better product, imo from healers eye. The OTHER players that aren't healers will have to adapt, too, and growing pains will happen. Standing in the fire to parse is an F.
Should bring out all of the cata raids and streams u did and scottes aswell, will be interesting to see how u did, sinc eu said u do nef differently or how it was on majrodomo and shannox ! great stuff!

cata is one of my favourite expansions to heal. ill admit 25m devolves into spamming 1 button much like wrath, radiance, PoH, chain heal, rejuv, but 10m is where its at for really making the most out of your toolkit. i had a blast chakra swapping as holy. making sure to heal rogues or shamans with swiftmend for a juicier efflo. dropping phatty greater healing waves on people.
that's been the case throughout the expansions. 10 man always lets you use more of your toolkit, as long as the difficulty is there and it's not stompable (which sadly isn't always the case) then 10m is always more fun for that reason
You wont spam 1 ability in 25m hc, you wont get away with that.
@@gollese for a lot of fights yeah, especially in dragon soul. but even early on, stuff like alakir and sinestra is just group up and spam radiance, PoH, chain heal, rejuv. yeah spam 1 button is an exaggeration but it makes up a lot of what youre doing. 10m matters way more using more of your kit

Healing heroics as a freshy is extremely difficult. Especially if the group doesnt know mexhanics. Im fully geared 381 rdruid and i struggled with a fairly geared group but no one knew mechanics. They Just purchased a lot of gear from AH. We wiped at end of grim batol last night because no one knew mechanics. Its easy once you know but if no one speaks up and says i dont know. I would rather spend a minute or two explaining fight than to wipe and waste 10-15 minutes of time

Sorry - did you just say innervate literally fills your mana bar up, in wrath? Is your mana pool 10k?
Not sure where you’re coming from when you say that resto shamans can’t spam Chain Heal in Wrath or they go OOM; it’s quite easy to do with the proper gear, unless your kill times are just atrocious or something.

Love how your friend tries to establish he's good when he's dogshit on current parses. Funny. He knows nothing about timers and using CDs. Just shows that playing it on pservers doesn't make you good. He's just telling what min/maxers do, not how they do it. Which is coordination and assignments. No mention on this is a big no.
innervate does like 7% of a Hpallies mana not full kekw
Can get and extra 20% mana regen from all mana regen effects based on max mana through hymn's +20% max mana
Read the actual tooltip..
In cata, using innervate on another player only refunds 10%. In wrath it's a lot more. I think 30%
