Very great video but i think items matter too recently i read guinsoo's description and i now know why they go on hit on neeko or akshan and how to play around the item proccing
As mentioned some of these runes are somewhat interchangeable, this is just to give you the general idea of how you should be playing with your runes. You CAN go all-in from full health with PTA and Electrocute of course, but it's usually better to proc them and back out a couple times until you have an advantage THAN go all in. But to answer your question imagine 2 equal strength champions stand still and autoattack eachother, one with Hail Of Blades and one with Electrocute. The one with Hail Of Blades will win that fight to the death for sure so as a rune it's MORE flexible to be used in an all-in.
Isn't HoB better in short trades than PTA? 3 Quick autos and HoB does nothing, while PTA takes longer to get use off and will give you the %damage bonus. I get that in the red tree HoB is the best for long trades and in the yellow tree you can go either Lethal or Conq for longer trades instead of PTA, but if you put HoB and PTA side by side PTA wins in long trades and HoB wins in short trades.
PTA is quite special. It proc then still give value because the enemy take extra dmg after. For Vi, we want to proc her W to break armor and get extra atk speed to get into "long term" trade so the key is to proc W into long fight.
Would you be so kind to explain in a video (or a video series) how runes work? I feel like I'm somewhat unintelligent due to no matter how many times I read the runes descriptions I still don't get how grasp works... Thank you.
why isnt HoB a short trade/poke rune? I have been playing with the mentality that HoB is for short trades and pta is for long trades. i only play adc though
This might sound dumb... But I've been having more success in Conqueror Poppy than Grasp Poppy. I main Poppy and I've tried all runes. Yes, Grasp is good and it's hard to Stack Conqueror but I feel extremely strong with it. Is it perhaps a good thing to use conqueror? I'm just a Gold 1 player so I don't know much.
This is why I've never been a fan of these more prominent CD-based runes. The way they manage to influence the game's fighting dynamics by themselves, nearly completely subverting what a champion's own actual capabilities are, is really lame.
This changes everything.
maybe you could do a series on all runes, when to use them, on which champions, how to play around them etc.

Oh for sure, but this is mostly about early levels when it's are equal or close to :^)
How is pta any less all in or electrocute compared to hail of blades

Pta cd proc is shorter so more harass while hob hard wins quick exchanges.
