I have seen this dance when I went to Bali... it reminds me of such a great influence from the Hindus... Im so happy to have seen it being performed live... Greetings from the Philippines...
Got into Balinese dancing oddly from my love of French literature- the Parisian writer Antonin Artaud wrote about a trip to Asia and his love of Balinese dancing he found there- he said it mystified him, he didn't really understand it fully, but that was why he loved it. From that, now I discovered and am now enjoying it too.
This actually reminds me a little bit of Cambodian, Laos and Indian dance because of the costumes and movements and similarities of the music. I really do like this! Since I'm a Cambodian dancer I'll share this with my dance troupe.
Hey, I am an Indian dancer, and I am mystified by the dances of SE Asia such as Balinese, Indonesian, Thai, Cambodian. Anybody interested in connecting with me over dance cultural exchange? Mostly, I am interested in learning more about your dance, the art, music, culture, etc. Also your experiences as a dancer. My particular background in Bharatnatyam, a south Indian dance, if you have ever heard of it. I love discussing dance and art. I would be interested in supporting you or your other fellow artists. Thanks.
So glad to know foreigner appreciate our culture, actually this is different dance. You can find on YT magnificent 14yo girl perform the same dance as Raja's performance ❤️
I was turned this on, and my mom came in and said when she lived in indoniesia they would play this music for five days straight including through the night.
@@luck_0p975 who said the opposite?. I said Bali, 'cause Bali is totally different from the rest of Indonesia and even, that province is more indonesian than the rest of country.
@@rogerroger730 Wow, "more indonesian than the rest of the country". Thats kinda subjective. Dayak culture in borneo and papua even more indonesian than bali, since they dont have indian influence. Remember, melanesian (black people) are older than austronesian in indonesian archipelago. And, please check my playlists, i know i've said this before to you.
I don't like the way this dance looks. It looks like someone watched a bunch of chickens prancing and laying eggs on their farm and thought, "Hey, I'm going to create a dance that looks like them!"

who came after watching Raja do this dance on Drag Race?
In Indian classical dances, hand movements have a meaning.
Is it the same for this dance? Are those mudras defined?
தாழம்பூ
Bali ritual is similar to Burma Buddhism ritual. My feeling like so intimate to Bali people.

All steps looks same.. But I hope definitely each step will have some meaning which I don't understand... 🤔🤔🤔
Very Good What Camera Type
Bali is predominately Hindu...which explains the artworks and culture related to Sanskrit (India) artwork/culture.
