I wanted an ending with Salim standing on top of a mountain of vampire corpses. That man is a legend, and probably the best part about this game.
True, Salim's a true soldier, would be epic if that's in the game.

I agree, except that I would replace the word "probably" with "definitely". It's refreshing to see a Middle Eastern character portrayed as a heroic protagonist, we love to see it!
first time i played this with my friend i got to salim, i was like who the hell is he why am i here, then comes the first section were he kills one of them and i started to love him, hes my superman

Yeah it was really fun. Played it with 3 others and I was so tired and not used to the ps4 controller, so I failed the QTE's which resulted in my friends character getting shot in the head :D.

@@alteration_rift1697 There is something called Movie Night Mode, which is up to 5 players offline, like couch coop, where everyone chooses a character and you switch the controller back and forth 🙂
I didn’t even know any of this could happen. I ended up saving everyone but Eric. This game is so dynamic

Hey I’m not sure if they have the same reason but my Eric died because I panicked and shot the shepherd at the start and Salim saw. And when like nick and Salim met I failed some QTE’s annnnd then Salim shot Eric, I was so mad😂

I think the scary part is how the aliens were probably normal before becoming vampires.
They were probably a normal functioning society like humans, albeit probably looking terrifying lmao.
They weren't the true villains, the parasites that infected them were.
It also makes you wonder how many types of creatures are there if vampire parasites and aliens exist.
Is that really that scary?
@@andrewp1653 I mean, at first glance, you'd think the vampires themselves are the villains, but after discovering those secrets, and how their language is sonics, you think about what they were like before, and how the parasite came with them.
Personally, I wonder if any human has made contact with a non-hostile alien, one who hasn't been infected. I'd like to imagine having to team up with that one alien after the party had encountered the infected aliens would've been a better way to drive that "The enemy of my enemy is a friend" message established at the beginning with Bhlathu and Kurum

@@rekanpayne6606 he's an alien, but the only danger he poses is the fact he doesn't immerse himself enough in a fight in order to beat Robotnik permanently.
Based on 0:37 , that means the curator is the one who writes the stories to tell, but he bases it on what we do in the game. He does give clues but its more of vague contexts so that we do whichever seems to work for us.
He's only visible when the situation includes a vital life or death choice

Whoa,the guy behind the statue on the left 0:35. Never noticed him before. The Curator.
He can appear in some places, though I'm not sure what triggers it. He also appears in the other games, but it's usually pretty hard to spot him. The one time I saw him in the playthroughs I saw, it was down in the spaceship where Jason decides to go back for Salim. Because the background has the greenish color and he stands fairly close to Nick and Jason, it's easy to notice him there.

@@jadec.3374 Cool, thanks! That would make sense, cause the scene I mentioned, you can leave without Salim and take the elevator, which leaves him without a way to escape and he dies. One of the worst, saddest endings honestly.

For those of you who don’t know, the dude who monologues, I believe his crew came in search of that slime that halts peoples aging. It’s why the king sacrificed people to the vampires and thought of them as gods.
i don't think the king even acknowledge the presence of these vampires.His empire is actually being punished by the god with plague and famine,so he started to sarcrificed people.The war at the beginning of the game provoked the hibernation of the vampires,that's why they awoke and slaughtered everyone in the temple (ofc the game has many plotholes imho)
Nah he and his wife was tricked by the woman saying they found the treasure of Alexander the Great or something but you were right about the woman looking for the green fluid for immortality.

The crew you play as I the game actually came searching for Chemical weapons, they had no idea about any of this beforehand

They're talking about the crew of archeologists from WW2 who came in the tunnels looking for the indications about the tomb of Alexander the Great, but were tricked by the one who led them there, Lady Agnes Bradshaw. She sabotaged their gear, infected the wife of Randolph Hodgson (who wrote journal entries) and was looking for that green slime you find in the alien ark at the end, the thing that preserves bodies, because she hoped to become immortal. Unfortunately for her, she got infected, killed someone and was stabbed by Randolph.
Kurum is the Gutian soldier from the prologue who escaped his cell and encounters the Akkadian General Balathu. Ultimately, neither of them survives, but depending on how you play the prologue, one of them becomes a vampire and hunts the 2003 military crew.
I think if you let Kurum kill Balathu while Balathu holds the door, Kurum becomes the vampire, and if you make them work together, Balathu is the one who becomes a vampire. Not sure though. Anyway, if Balathu is the vampire, you find the remains of Kurum half-preserved in slime in the alien ark and Salim mercy-kills him (poor guy has been partially conscious for 6000 years after all ^^).

@@username5606 dead host can come back Gutian was dead and clarice still turns after you shoot her during the autopsy scene Eric thought they decompose fast after death but it's revealed hosts were already dead thats why they cocoon themselves to slow the decay they're may be other factors in him (Merwin) turning though doesn't always seem to happen.

Played this with 3 friends. Salim and Jason were the only survivors. But to be honest, those two were my favourites. And also the most unlikely allies. It was like a perfect horror movie ending.
I dont think I would've wanted everyone to make it out. Would take away alot of the horror element and movie feel to the game.
Well merwin clarice dar and joey always die but yeah when I played I purposefully got nick killed cause I really didn’t like him and some of his dialogue option sounded like “I’m better than you” and I thought about Rachel but I kept accidentally keeping her alive
1st playthrough, 4 alive(minus eric) with rachel cocooned and then got her parasite extracted. The ending was so bad, too many plot holes and anti climax

Man, this game did not care enough about Eric, dude was way too easy to kill at all points in the game. Not that any more development for him would ever make him a better character than the goat Salim
I just finished playing this game for the first time ever (no guides, no retries, despite the temptation, hard mode on and failing every heart beat quick time, getting only the last one correctly), and here's the result:
-Eric was shot by Salim because I had Nick try to trick him into capture;
-I stayed with Clarisse for as long as I could, but left her to transform at the Sacrificial chamber;
-Daraq was eaten by those abominations at the Sacrificial chamber;
-Merwin was accidentally choked by Nick;
-Joey was turned;
-Jason and Salim's rift was mended;
-Salim got safely home to his son since at the beginning of the game I prioritized stealth over showmanship through reinforcements;
-I was sure Rachel would hit Salim or Jason in the back at the first room to breath, but despite life smiling upon her right until the end, she had to be satisfied with having Nick alive and well.
So in other words... I was actually pretty lucky ! I actually made a bunch of good decisions despite my lack of preparation for this game ! And I gotta tell you, I was so on edge I was always feeling like every decision I made was the wrong one.
Also, I think I'm gonna do an "Infected Rachel" playthrough now. Unlike the good Curator, I find life and the dark holding hands more entertaining. He might see this as a cliche... But I know some cliches can still work, if you give them a little flavor. It's a very human trait after all.

What the factor causing different route?
It depends on who lives longer in the prologue
If you choose to betray the other guy in the beginning then Kurum will become a vampire, but if you escape, he gets caught and partially encased in the slimy stuff

I liked Jason, Merwin and Salim.
I didn't get more time to see deeper stories with these characters, but for what we were given it was enough to intrigue me. I can push past anything offensive or demeaning; these are the Marines (one being in spirit; exempted). Taking offense is the last thing that should be on their minds, though that may be overlooked since most players are presumably civilian and don't see that as clearly.
If I'm not also mistaken, Eric is Air Force while those he assumed command over were Marine. That should explain a big hidden portion of antagonism the soldiers have towards the Colonel since the training is vastly different in terms of intensity, and the Air Force is joked as the 'baby branch' on shore-side even by the Navy even though the branches know full well that it's entirely different out in the field.
If you look at 01:05 when the make vampire runs there is a gun floating in the air straight after the camera on the stand

I think the Vampire trend started to come back with The Netflix series “CastleVania” and then “Vampyr” The dark story driven PS4 game set around the time of the TB outbreak in Beginning of the 20th century. Then there was a vampire the masquerade; coteries of New York got popular, Vampire The masquerade themed Blood Hunt, vampire the masquerade; Swan song. Now there’s a new announcement of a vampire themed game called V rising.

why didn't they use the uva light to get the parasite out of Calrie?
Based on what I could make out of how the biology works, the disgusting brain slug thing starts off further down your body and works its way up into your skull, at which point it probably eats a chunk of your brain so it can fit in there. At any rate this is when its own "fangs" burst out through your skull. At that point you're not going to be possible to save because at the very least you have an alien brain slug tumour in your skull.
If they'd used the light on Clarice after she "turned" it wouldn't work to save her.
As for why they didn't use it earlier... the people in this game are idiots.
I kept waiting for them to use the white phosphorus against the vampires. Never did until one very specific point. Nobody even thought of it.
There's another thing I'd like answered. Why does stabbing through the heart work if the vampires are "undead beings" being piloted by that parasite? You'd think a headshot would be the way to take them out.

@@DGneoseeker1 well, the parasites feed on adrenaline and are very dependent on the blood flowing quickly, destroying the heart would cause it to rapidly starve
@@DGneoseeker1 They get stabbed through the heart just because of vampire lore, vampires can only get killed through the heart because in Christianity (where vampires lore originally came from) it was symbolic for piercing their heart with Jesus, it’s also why in the game you have the option to try and scare a vampire with a crucifix lmao. Not to mention sunlight (uv lights) kill the vampires as well, it’s all based off traditional vampire lore
