nice vid... thanks for the drone shots of the tops of the locos and cars... as a modeler we never get to see topside... you just gave me some more weathering ideas
Prex 1000 is now a Gettysburg and northern which is owned by patriot rail, still looking the same even has the name Elkhart and western, for a few years it was a main engine in use now it’s a backup/ on call engine since we got a new gp-38 with the company name
I use to run both of those locomotives and we were the ones that were forced to paint them yellow and black with house paint and rollers and brushes 🤣 911 and 1000 Prex Stands for pioneer railroad express
Pioneer was based out of Peoria Illinois. We would take the cement cars to lonestar cement in Mishawaka and hummer frames to Midwest and lumber to Nichols. Started off at the caboose which was our office on Jackson st across from Martin’s grocery store. North folk southern would deliver us cars on the side track and take our empty’s.😎
@@ScottTaipaleRail I found them on Sterling Rail. Its one of the recently added locomotives with I think is an NW2 for the image. It has PREX 107, ND&W's GP16s & GP20s, and many more.
Love those old beater locomotives. Looks like they wrote Elkhart & Western on the sides of the loco with a piece of chalk!
Yes classic power! Maybe a hand made stencil and Walmart paint
Nice to see LCEX cement-covered hoppers being moved locally up from Greencastle, Indiana, or Cement on the CSX/Monon line!

Thank you! The top always has different character than the sides

What happened to the ND&W? I found some of their units for sale.
Pioneer Railcorp was bought out. Where did you see the locomotives listed for sale and which ones?
Who own the ND&W now

Rough track near the transload
