If I apply for university fully funded need based scholarship, would I still be in need of showing bank statement? Because, if one's financial situation is strong enough, why would anyone apply for need based scholarship.

Visa and scholarship are 2 different things and the scholarship will be given by Italian government but they don’t have any concern about your bank statement and visa… it’s embassy that deals with these documents
