I don't think it is correct to say that the Serena is Alphard's direct competitor. Because Nissan has the Elgrand which is definitely more luxurious.

@@sgcarmartreviews thanks 🙏 I have being driving 2 generations of Harrier (both are 1st hand) for the last 18 years. Found the quality drop for my current Harrier vs the previous generation but still like the comfort. Hope the next generation quality and reliability will improve, else I need to look for an alternative model in 2 years time.

Great review, covering all essential aspects of being the luxury transporter. Forget the naysayers who probably dont subscribe or see you enough to understand the humour and style.
Oh and also! Perhaps you could introduce different items for the boot test such as stroller, bicycle etc etc. Maybe not all the vehicles, no1 will try to fit a bicycle in a convertible or sports car so the items should be relevant e.g. strollers for mpv and bicycle for suv.

My personal guess is that there's really not much need for such a huge petrol-guzzling off-roader in Singapore, especially where our petrol prices aren't the cheapest in the region.

"Menacing" is the perfect word to describe the front end. I'm a Canadian visiting Japan and I keep seeing these on the road, the styling of the grille is just crazy, it's so aggressive looking. It's strange seeing that on a van as a Canadian, because to us normally, an MPV can never be a cool car. There's nothing in the North American market that looks anything like this.

Great review. I never knew what all the fuss was about. Our guest from other countries request these cars to take them to our tours. On the outside... just another van. Now I get it. This is why our Russian guests in particular request this car by name to take them to and from or tours. Got it.

I have lived in the US and Canada for awhile and I find that the Japanese cars there have better interior specs than the ones in Asia (same models). I was kinda shock when I see the price of cars here and it comes with only the bare minimum 😅
