i get to test out a 2018 toyota alphard! this luxury JDM mini-van is something you don't see every day as it is not currently offered from toyota australia.. this car is an import and because of that it carries a very big price tag... this one i reviewed was priced at about 150,000 AUD! thats a lot of money but the Alphard is a lot of car.. tho is very different to what you may be used to..
love it or hate it the alphard is a very popular car and has been going for over 17 years!
Let me know in the comments what you thought of the Alphard!?
Huge thanks to VansWest for letting me review on of there Vehicles.. to learn more check out there website vanswest.com.au/

    I love this thing.
We own a Toyota Alphard Hybrid and while we were on our way home from a trip, a massive storm hit which prompted the port to stop ferry rides to our destination.
We had to stay inside our Alphard for-as far as I can recall-around 53 hours or so...
Honestly speaking it was a scary experience witnessing all the chaos going on outside the van while the storm hit but the next day, we felt thankful that we used that instead of our SUV since the Alphard was so much more comfortable, quiet, and efficient.
The engine only ran for a few minutes every hour with the AC on and it was a dream sleeping inside because even with the engine on you hardly hear it due to the insane noise insulation.
The built in entertainment system with TV tuner kept us up to date with the news despite the loss of cellular reception and data, we were able to plug in our laptops to watch movies as well.
We took baths at a nearby gas station and throughout the whole ordeal (the vehicle was on 24/7) our driver was so impressed because in a span of 53 hours he estimated that the Alphard consumed roughly 13-16 litres of gas.
Yes, with the AC and various electronics plugged into the power outlet (including a Makita cooler) 24/7.
Needless to say, my Dad was really impressed when I told him about it the moment we arrived.
If you guys plan on doing camping and stuff without sacrificing space and comfort (albeit a bit less efficient in terms of mileage) then the Toyota Alphard is the way to go.
I wouldn’t mind getting stuck in the middle of nowhere as long as I’m inside this awesome minivan, it’s like riding a business class flight for a few days lol-fun and comfortable.

There's only 3 variants here in Indonesia,
the base trim, which is the (X) doesn't have leather seats, it's fairly basic like the other types of car. No one buys this trim lel.
The mid trim is the trim that everyone buys, comes with leather seats, electrically operated captains seats with leg support, heated and cooled seats in the front row, but only heated in the mid row.
The highest trim, the 3.5Q executive longue, is pretty much the same that is in this video but with a V6. It comes with a more advanced leg support, added a small table, cooled and heated seats in the mid row seats.

And the boss's son got himself one of these and converted it as a prototype.
Essentially same method as the granvia which uses new Landcruiser parts kits and whole bunch of parts they designed themselves.
