I ran the half also! I was in "A" but I moved down to "F" to run with my wife. From my experience, this was a fun run that was all about the Disney spectacle. If you are looking to either race or get a PR/PB, then this is not the race for you. At multiple times during the race because of the crowds and the tight tightness of the course we were lucky to be running at a 13 minute mile pace. I was grateful for some of the longer freeway sections of the course where I was able to ditch my wife for a few minutes, just to stretch my legs and run at an eight minute mile pace. Overall, not a bad event, but definitely less catered towards running and more towards the Disney experience. Lastly, I hope that I never hear the song from the parent trap ever again, as I feel like that was the only thing I ever heard. HAHA
‘Ditch my wife’ 🤣 Yes, I agree, it’s 100% a fantastic entry level half marathon (apart from price) where the focus is on Disney rather than the run. I’m ok with that, even though I’m not a hardcore Disney fan, I like the novelty. The squeeze near the Floridian needs a rethink though, but I also agree that if you’re a serious racer then you are likely not coming to Disney World to run. Thanks for watching and commenting.
