The first time I hear of vixen as in the movie hard bodies(I thank they had a another name in the movie)Jan and Janet Grander was in it. In 1990 I was assign a security detail in Fort Worth Texas. This was the Kiss, Winger, Vixen tour. I meet this down to earth Lady of the first class order. I was lucky to remind friends with her over the years.I'm very honor that she allow me to be a friend to her. I lost my mother and stepfather the year before. my mother die of cancer. A few months back my sister sent me some picture of my mother and me and a picture that I forgot about. Was one of me , my mother and Jan,Janet ,Roxy, Backstage at the Kiss tour. The lost a great person with a large heart and sole. Jan you will be miss but never forgotten.
I am saddened to hear of Jan's passing...there are so few female rockers in the world and she definitely Rocked !! I enjoyed Vixen and her talents very much. Deep condolences go to her family and friends and bandmates..she will be missed. Heaven now has another female rocker. RIP Jan u were taken way too soon. from a Canadian Fan
Thanks for the nice comments, as stated on the other the vid, there is no video I could ever make to match her talent and beauty but I tried...it still seems so unreal, gone at 51, that is just so wrong, I remember back in 1988 there were a handful of all female rock bands, Girlschool, The Pandoras, Precious Metal, Phantom Blue, on and on, but Vixen as most of us know were the first to break through commercially and the fact that Jan kept it going all these years is a true test of her perseverance! that is truly paying dues, something new artists no longer seem to have to do, sad.. miss the days of of real music
I couldn't agree more. When there are so many rock stars who treat their bodies like shit and get to go on doing it forever, it seems even more cruel and ironic that Jan was taken from us at such a young age. The fact that she kept the Vixen name alive for so many years IS testament to her love of music and perseverance, yet I can't help but wonder what could have been. Do you think it's better or worse that we know the classic Vixen was on the verge of reforming when Jan became ill? It's nice to know the band sorted out their differences in time, but it's also so sad that they never got the chance to build on their legacy and reap the rewards they were long overdue. A friend of mine always says that if there is a God, the bastard sure has a sick sense of humor - in this instance, I find myself having to agree. RIP, Jan - we'll always love you!

What did she die from? I meet them in 88 I think at a signing in Nottingham. UK I got my guitar signed on back from them. But Jan said get me some paper and they all signed that instead and stuck it on back of my guitar instead. They couldn't believe I asked for that. Such sad loss not only if the band. But of her too.
