Yes, although the boot often comes already installed, in cases where it covers the lip area that you need to access to use a press to install it, the boot is to be removed then reinstalled after the ball joint is pressed in. In other cases like some of the Moog Problem Solver ball joints, the boot is recessed entirely inside the lip and will not interfere with using a press so it should not be removed.
Moog Sucks! Cost me a CV Axel due to the lack of thought on grease fitting placement! Should have went with Stock and who cares about grease inserts when factory one lasted over 150,000 miles. At least factory ones don’t damage existing parts!
I bought my moogs from O'reillys, after install no one at O'reillys had any idea how to grease them or what adapter to use. Your vid did it! thanks
Where can I get this device at an angle to fill the ball joint ?
HI
you can link to appropriate Grease Needle tool ?
Do they come pre-greased
Never assume that they do since you cant see inside. Always grease them after installation
Are all dust boots on ball joints removeable?
I need to remove the boot to be able to press my ball joint in place...
