My jaw dropped when I saw Toy Castle!! It's the earliest tv show I remember watching as a kid and I used to watch it every day! I must have been two or three but omg that was such a good show!
"The Ripping Friends" was the most fucked up cartoons of my childhood, and omg "Katie and Orbie" is my childhood cartoon I totally forgot about it until now, the memories are flooding in damn nostalgia. Tiny Planets was another one, Maggie and the Ferocious Beast too.
I'm from the U.S. state of Vermont and when I was a kid, I watched the Kids CBC block sometimes because for some reason my TV cable could pick up the station. So yes I remember Nanalan, The Doodlebops and Mr. Meaty when these shows were on that block, and also I remember Jacob Two-Two when it was on Qubo :)
Same I live in WA. It’s so weird, me and my brother are the only ones we have encountered to experience that weird block of show, loved it tho. It was a childhood staple.
5:50 AKDHASKJFHAKJGHKJG I grew up on a show called "Pumper Pups" that had a lot of the cast that Katie and Orbie did- even being narrated by Leslie Neilsen
I don't understand why jacob two-two is obscure, is because the the art style of the show is sketchy, or the fact that jacob replies every phrase he says twice, or even the fact that the episodes of this show are lost media!!!!!!!!!!!
YESSS! thank you soooo fucking much!!! YVON of THE YUKON !!! I have been searching the web asking about "Can ANYONE tell me the cartoon that included a Short gruff french chef/pirate? that included dirty socks in his soup ??? I CANNOT remember for the life of me. he was short with a big head/chin and maybe a bandanna.... I WOULD NEVER HAVE FOUND IT hahahahaha
I REMEMBER WEE 3 I watched it when I was like 5, and I couldn't sleep, and I remember walking to the TV and turning on the big chunky analog TV and watching it
I remember seeing Angela Anaconda when I was like around 7, I did recently start watching it again (all episodes are on TH-cam as we speak) and yeah I agree, that girl is insane
The toy castle...a few days ago, I had a vivid image of the intro pop into my head. Though I didn't remember the show's name...here I am being reminded.
Dude Nanalan has given me nightmares daily for almost 15 years, not even joking. I haven’t stepped foot in my grandmothers basement since I was 7 because I had a nightmare and the f**king grandmother from this show was chasing me with an axe. Thank you Canada for traumatizing me at the ripe age of 3
I never realized the doodlebops were obscure, back in 09 I had group of internet friends and 2 of them (a british girl, and a american guy) used to joke about the doodlebops because their younger siblings watched it.
Holy shit! For context, I live near Canada so sometimes stuff comes over here. I had a vague idea of toy castle, and I finally found it! Thank you so much!
not neccesarily a kids show but CBC kids when it wasn't playing stuff like curious george, edible incredible, yam roll or the doodlebopps would play Bedouin Soundclash's " When the night feels my song" little idiot me would always somehow interpret "hey beautiful day" as "hey nicotine day" could never understand why he was singing about ciggies
Angela Anaconda was in my country too, eastern Europe. I HATED this show, because when it was on, every other channel had something worse on. So we were forced to watch this. It had a unique style and was very cool made. This was literally the best option on 3 week days at 2h pm. I think I saw every episode at least 3 times. I hated her voice too.
Why so Dragon Booster not on this list!? Excellent story and creature designs! So cruel it was canceled on a cliffhanger in season 3. I watched Angela Anaconda as a kid and it’s honestly low key savage in its humour.
There’s something about Katie and orbi as a kid I couldn’t watch. It’s like having a dream that is extremely slow that you have absolutely no control over.
Holy shit, I've finally found The Toy Castle!! I remembered the Double Doggy Dare episode, but I could never find what show it was from when I tried looking it up online.
I wonder if anyone has any info on these: Little Star - Wasn't a big fan of this one... basically a spaceship drama for kids with strange animal puppets. Max's Tales (I don't know the exact name of this one - just had drawings and a cat named Max doing the storytelling and alway ended with "but that's another tale for another time" Pumper Pups - Also uses still images instead of animation Rainbow Island - I don't know the exact title of this, but I remember it had some colourful animal costumes dancing. Growing up around Vancouver I misheard the lyrics as "Granville Island, Granville Island!" NiNi's Treehouse - This was one of my favourites
Some of these obscure shows like Jacob Two-Two or Angela Anaconda were acutally dubbed in German and aired on German TV. You can still find it online on TH-cam.
I watch most of this shows. Freaky Stories was another weird show. It was similar to tales from the crypt keeper but was host by a cockroaches and a maggot. I love that show. We had Uh Oh a kids game show that is probably weirder then all these combines but in a awesome way
It's really weird. All of the violent kid shows seem to come from the US, but almost every other nation's cartoons on Earth seem to look like, yes "a bad acid trip" or so boring and flat that it looks like you had to be half asleep to make it.
Toy castle gave me nightmares... I hated the way Angela anaconda was in black and white... and lastly why isn't Dudley the dragon or tipi tales on here??
Wow seeing Toy Castle was a blast from the past! I too enjoyed the soldier and ballerina but man did that clown ever give me the creeps and the goblin!
To me, Nanalan is not that creepy, it’s actually innocent to me. When I saw it on YTV, I was not scared of it. Also, I do remember seeing Toy Castle as well. I wonder if you remember seeing any shows on Discovery Kids in Canada. I remember seeing something with nature, weather and a series of shorts on this network.
I REMEBER WATCHUNG A SHOW AND IT WAS CREEPY AND IT WAS ON NETFLIX IT WAS CALLED SOMETHING LIKE THE WEIRDER SHOW OR SOMETHING AND IT TOOK PLACE AT SOME WEIRD SCHOOL AND NOBODY HAS HEARD OF IT I THINK IT WAS ALL INSIDE MY HEAD I CANT FIND IT ANYWHERE
Oh my lord, I didn't even remember most of these! I've seen almost every single one mentioned at least once but I can't remember watching them??? Like, I KNOW I've watched them before because I can remember the nightmares I had from Wee 3 and Toy Castle but I don't remember anything except the characters. This feels very, very reminiscent to the creepypasta "Candle Cove" (especially Yvon of the Yukon during that first scene with the boats!)
anyone know or remember Judy and David Boombox?
You just unearthed a deep memory. Part 2 may be in the works.
@@daniellehedin1433 what about tree town and crazy quilt
Damn, these are all shows hidden in the depths of my childhood memory that I didn't think would ever see the light of day.
I believe you only scratched the surface. Thanks for sharing.
they really did. Take a look at my playlist of canadian shows
𝙸t lives up to the title
I remember watching the toy castle whenever I woke up in the middle of the night when I was a kid, I hated it so much??
Oh yeah toy castle i watched that!

wee 3*
I loved it
Same
My jaw dropped when I saw Toy Castle!! It's the earliest tv show I remember watching as a kid and I used to watch it every day! I must have been two or three but omg that was such a good show!
DalekQueen I used to watch that show so often when I was a kid but I couldn't remember the title all these years so I thought it was only my dreams 😂
Same here
@@taniamanik2012 I can certainly relate! I had a vivid memory of the intro pop into my head. I just couldn't place the title. Well, here it is!
I remember the doodlebops
Lol same!
I try to forget
My cousin LOVED them when she was little.
They all suck ass
I was too old for that show when it premiered
"The Ripping Friends" was the most fucked up cartoons of my childhood, and omg "Katie and Orbie" is my childhood cartoon I totally forgot about it until now, the memories are flooding in damn nostalgia. Tiny Planets was another one, Maggie and the Ferocious Beast too.

I remember having a crush on one of the doodlebobs, i don't know why
Jacob Two-Two is my life. I remember whenever we got free time in school the teacher would bring out the old tv and let us watch it.
Vincent the Mortician My teacher used to read a chapter from the books
I remember anytime I got off school I'd rush to watch it as well as Chalk world!
It's safe to say that Terrance and Philip from South Park did an incredible job parodying Canadian cartoons!
Honestly, if Terrance and Phillip were an actual Canadian cartoon, I wouldn't be surprised.
Damnn Wee 3 😂 use to watch that late before bed. Honestly didn’t creep me
When I was a kid the weirdest shows I ever saw was Professor Iris, Whimzy's House, and Eureka's castle...
Toycastle was my favourite as a child and it kind of scares me now
5:50 AKDHASKJFHAKJGHKJG I grew up on a show called "Pumper Pups" that had a lot of the cast that Katie and Orbie did- even being narrated by Leslie Neilsen
This list doesn't even have the Nightmare that is 'Mega Babies'. You can thank the Quebecians for it.
Same company as "Sagwa"?
I entirely forgot about the toy castle. I just vaguely remember it after seeing that short clip.
I loved these shows as a kid! Also: Ants in your Pants, Treetown, Crazy Quilt, Madeline, Braceface were all good as well
The doodle bops were amazing, no one can change my mind, I even saw em live lmao
Who else remembers tipi tales though that was my favourite show!!!

I'm creating a cartoon. It's called, Forgotten Tales! It's about these forgotten and obscure characters that go on wacky and crazy adventures.
Here’s an interesting fact about Jason Hopley (Nanalan creator): he was the voice of Audio Murphy in Season two of The Doodlebops
I remember seeing Angela Anaconda when I was like around 7, I did recently start watching it again (all episodes are on TH-cam as we speak) and yeah I agree, that girl is insane
The Doodlebops and Mr. Meaty were my shit. I had the biggest crush on Moe
Angela Anaconda was just plain creepy. If aliens invade earth show em this show and they'll go away
I’m from the Yukon and I remember Yvon of the Yukon, at the time I thought it was strange lol.
The toy castle...a few days ago, I had a vivid image of the intro pop into my head. Though I didn't remember the show's name...here I am being reminded.

holy shit the fucking memories... Its crazy to think so many years have passed since these times... feels like yesterday
Remember "Land O'Hands"? That show was WEIRD!
S9mehow i felt like johnny test was gonna be in there.
I never realized the doodlebops were obscure, back in 09 I had group of internet friends and 2 of them (a british girl, and a american guy) used to joke about the doodlebops because their younger siblings watched it.
IN THE NIGHT GARDEN! BIG COMFY COUCH! RUBBADUBBERS!
Doodlebops and Toy Castle were it for me when I was little. I had all the recurring songs on Doodlebops memorized!
I forgot about Toy Castle. That unlocked some forgotten memories I had
Toy castle creeped me out...totally forgot about goblin and muscle dude
My step Mom was the creator of Katie and Orbie lmao I've never seen it mentioned in the wild like this, crazy
Holy shit! For context, I live near Canada so sometimes stuff comes over here. I had a vague idea of toy castle, and I finally found it! Thank you so much!
I'm not sure if it was a Canadian show but does anyone remember Carl^2 (Squared)?
holy shit

i always thought toy castle was a fever dream i had as a kid
I remember watching Toy Castle when it was on in the middle of the night. I'd lay in bed and watch it at my great grandparents house!
i remember watching wee 3 at night, laying in bed on my fat screen tv 🥲 or the doodle bops early in the morning before school
Angela Anaconda was in my country too, eastern Europe.

Mona’s Nana was hilarious. I loved watching it with my kids. That show was definitely unique.
The doodlebops crawled straight from the gaping maw of tartarus itself.
omg, Yvonne of the Yukon was LEGENDARY!
Where's Magi-Nation?
nobody remembers that but me and like five other people!

How come The Big Comfy Couch isn't their it was a weird, but great show in Canada
Wayside is another obscure Canadian children's show. It's a shame that show only got 2 seasons.
toy castle was and is nightmare fuel
YVON OF THE YUKON!!!
DEEEEFROSTED FOR YOU AND FOR MEEE xD
check out my playlist for Canadian 90s/2000s shows:P I put a lot of work into finding some of those:)
I watch most of this shows. Freaky Stories was another weird show. It was similar to tales from the crypt keeper but was host by a cockroaches and a maggot. I love that show. We had Uh Oh a kids game show that is probably weirder then all these combines but in a awesome way
OMG THE WEE 3 WAS LIKE MY FAVOURITE SHOW WHEN I WAS THREE. its weirx now but i rember liking it a lot
wow, what a blast from the past! I remember watching Angela Anaconda and Mr Meaty as a tween. totally forgot about em until I saw that thumbnail. :)
Angelia was a grotesque carry on from start to finish.
It's really weird. All of the violent kid shows seem to come from the US, but almost every other nation's cartoons on Earth seem to look like, yes "a bad acid trip" or so boring and flat that it looks like you had to be half asleep to make it.
I WATCHED LIKE ALMOST ALL THESE IM GONNA CRY
WEIRD-OHS!! YOU KNOW HOW FUCKING LONG I WAS TRYING TO FIND OUT THIS SHOWS NAME?!?!?!?!? FINALLY!!!!!!!!!!!!
The Doodlebops are AWESOME.
Haha I use to love Angela Anaconda. This brought back memories
TicTem I hated that show. The weird opening theme, Angela's annoying voice, and the gray people were enough to make me not watch the show
I also like Angela Anaconda, even though most people hate it.
Toy castle gave me nightmares... I hated the way Angela anaconda was in black and white... and lastly why isn't Dudley the dragon or tipi tales on here??
The doodlebops and toy castle were my favourites!!!
Mine too. You ever watch the show Freaky Stories that was on YTV. No one seems to remember it.
Omfg Katie and Orbie❤️❤️❤️ it used to be one of my favorite shows!
I used to watch it every morning!
I loved Katie and orbie
Wow seeing Toy Castle was a blast from the past! I too enjoyed the soldier and ballerina but man did that clown ever give me the creeps and the goblin!

the only ones i remember is
the doodlebops,
the toy castle,
katie and orbie,
mr meaty (maybe),
wee 3
So Yvon of the Yukon is pretty much Futurama closer to the then present day?
The mr. meaty episode with the tapeworm scared me half to death as a kid, I still think about it sometimes but forgot what the show was called

OMG I REMEMBER THE DOODLEBOPS I MISS THAT SHOW AAAAAAAAA
Doodlebops Rockin' Road Shows was OK. But DeeDee Doodle in that show was _stacked and cute!_
The Doodlebops were in America, too!
im shocked treetown was not on this list
The Toy Castle's costumes kinda remind me of Cirque du Soleil
katie and orbie was the show that i watches when i couldn’t sleep at night (every night as a child)
Nanalan was a fever dream, but it definitely fueled my 3yr old brain enough to think things.
I used to have a Doodlebops DVD from my childhood.
Nanalan ran for 72 3-minute segments on YTV in 1999 and then ran for 43 30-minute episodes on CBC in 2003
Toy castle and the doodlebops gave me the heebie geebies and wee3 would straight up give me nightmares.
THE DOODLEBOPS KSKSKSKSKS
i remember jacob two two, holy shit wtf
I was older then preschool age when I watched doodlebops I loved orange dude
It’s all coming back to me. All the nostalgia
What about Rollie Pollie Ollie or Caillou?
jacob two two was good. i agree with every other show being on this list tho 😬
3:31 that was not my experience at all
I love the doodlebops
THE DOODLEBOPS! For me it wasn't their theme song, but the Cauliflower song that popped into my head. I once had nightmares about the doodlebops.
Oh yeah that song was in the episode where dede and mo tried to get ronnie to eat cauliflower
The Doodlbeops should be a horror movie.
THE DOODLEBOPS
