ETHICAL ELEPHANT SANCTUARY CHIANG MAI
Join us as we get up close and personal with elephants at a wonderful elephant sanctuary: Happy Elephant Home. Happy Elephant Home is an ethical elephant sanctuary in Chiang Mai, Thailand.
This was such a wonderful adventure for both adults and kids. We spent half the day with the elephants. During our time, we cut sugar cane, fed the elephants, walked with the elephants, went swimming with the elephants, and even enjoyed a delicious lunch. On top of that, they even provided clothes to wear over our bathing suits that just added a little extra special touch to the experience.
We had a wonderful guide who taught us the differences between Asian elephants and African elephants and was wonderful with all the kids on the journey. It is amazing looking into an elephant's soulful eyes and touching their leathery skin. We loved seeing how they use their elephant trunk as a hand. We also learned how elephants are rescued from the side of the road. We learned how it is unethical to ride on elephants. It was an enlightening experience.
This family travel adventure with the elephants could not have been any better unless we had booked a longer day. We will next time. We loved our time with elephants and cannot wait to do it again!
