      What is Pascal referring to when he talks about your technique as not being symmetrical (but it's still efficient/powerful)?

    It's great to look at the technical analysis of top speed skaters in the world. Nice work!

    These analyses are so great to see thanks for the efforts putting in to it! But still so hard to try it for real on my own. Is it possible to make an video how to build up this technique to execusee well on the road? I see a lot of 'dry land' exercise on youtube, but when trying on road with skates I just can't figure out what to do. :)

      Erwin van den Berg that is the tricky part and that is why I don’t show a lot of exercice. Exercice can help a bit but it ms a lot about the understanding of the movement. The key is your hability to « think » when you skate and focus on on point to improve ... then move focus to another point etc etc. Almost every step you should think like ... was this landing good? Did I took smooth outside edge? Did it cost me energy to push or to move my body weight? Did I bring my shoulder up? How did I bring back my right leg? Should it be higher? Or come back more straight? Can I feel the push on my heel? Can i keep the pressure on my heel? Was it my best step ever? Etc étc ... i will try to build few exercice but going in this state of mine is the key

      @@ThePascalbriand yeah...it gets dizzy fast in my head :) I try too, but I still think I apply everything on a wrong base of movement. Like trying to learn to ski on snow. Beginners try to lean to the direction they want to go, but in fact, it is the opposite side (move right to go left etc.). With skate, my upper body is 'following' my legs. I believe I need to change the timing in order to get the double push. Am I right, do I make myself clear? :) haha well....I just keep trying and pushen and when I finally get it, I will thank you personally for being an excellent online coach :)

      Erwin van den Berg yes I think I get what you mean... yes under push can be feel as pushingopposite direction

    You're really good at double push!! When I do double push treads, I become in-edge. What should I do if I fix this?

      Jelly bear can you explain more please I don’t understand. Thanks

      I don't know how to explain it.
      I have so much to fix.

    • @ThePascalbriand

      Ok i think i understand. If you go inside edge during double push. It’s a problem. It’s because you don’t trust enough your balance probably because you didn’t work enough balance on one skate. It’s important to insist on one leg slalom and force you to control the turn using the edges

    How much of the push is core and hip, do you know? And as usual, wonderful footage!

    • @ThePascalbriand
      @ThePascalbriand  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Jerry Andersson hère Félix use more the hip and core for stability... compare to bart you see it’s like less movement and more solid... so a different style a bit

      @@ThePascalbriand It feels like more "raw power" compared to Bart. Another thing I notice is that his left leg travels back very fast after the under push, like he is losing pressure into the ground. Perhaps my eyes are playing tricks on me. Yet again, thank you for your work and keep em' coming.

    Best position of present skators I think is Timothy n Ewen

  • @yunjongoh2701
    @yunjongoh2701 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    I think that deep underpush ruins position.....so need to have at least underpush. Powerslide skaters have a good position.

    • @ThePascalbriand
      @ThePascalbriand  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes In Korean culture I feel a lot of focus in position more than in movement. It’s a big difference between Europe and Asia I think on that point it’s interesting. But deep (extreme) movement are also not the best always ...
