    I got my Commencal Meta two weeks ago, with a Zeb Ultimate. It had grease on the top caps too. I guess it's normal. Works fine.

    If there's no star nut installed or scratches in the steerer, probably not used. More like it failed QC.

    Got two new SID Ultimate SL forks today. Production dates are 6 months apart in 2022 and both are greasy and fingerprints all over the shop. The newer one MFD 06/2022 looked rough, like as if it was old somehow and I thought it looked used as well. Really weird...I build up the older one MFD 01/2022 (which looked the cleanest) and it worked like a dream on testing. I will have to check the newer (dirty) one tomorrow after the excitement of finally getting them. Really weird situation as you had as well. Dunno what to make of it. Mine came from two different supplier's but both very renowned Hmmm....know the feeling like you. Thanks for the good video.

    SID is a good call for the Trifox. I'm going to swap out the internals on my Reba with the SID stuff 👍

      Thanks , Good thing about rockshox forks is you can buy cheap and upgrade the internals 🤌🏻

    Just to let you know, the newer one looked rough but I cleaned it up and all is good now. It's brand new as far as I can see, maybe someone got carried away with oil, grease but I prefer that, than too little.. Thanks again for the video.

    My SID Select came without the bonus fingerprints or grease. I’m not sure why yours was like that. Hmmm
    Get a discount!
    You’ll like the SID. It’s really light. Get torque end caps for them too.

    Competitive Cyclist sent me a used Shimano XT 12 speed chainring. This was mid pandemic and they were totally out of stock everywhere so I kept it. I called and gave me like $12 off, LOL.

    guys is it truth that this SID generation with Charger RL is not reliable ? I heard that it has a lot of issues and it concerns me, have possibility to buy one in good price and dont know if I should..

    how do you feel about these after using them? I have the SID select on my new bike, they don't feel as smooth as my Fox set up. Like when I compress them, they feel sorta sticky (lack of a better word). I compress them and they're like a windshield wiper blade on dry glass. Been trying to get feedback from Sram but they're beating around the bush on admitting there is an issue. Or, is this how they all feel? Maybe Fox is just smoother.

      I tried bikes with fox suspension before and personally didn’t like it, my sid is working really good right now and probably the best fork I ever used , check your settings , sag, air pressure etc, oh by the way I installed a token in my sid so it feels better

    • @zerocool675
      @zerocool675 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@MCMTB I have sag around 22% (I ride xc), psi on point, and rebound where I like it. only about 30 miles on them, they're just not smooth when I compress them. tried the little zip tie trick to release air. nothing changes the sticky feel. but, appreciate the feedback. glad you're liking yours! maybe I just got a bad fork.

    Ok lang yan bro, tech who QA’d it prior to shipping didn’t wear gloves, as long that there’s no dirt then it should be good, I got mine the same way and it works with no issues.

    I might suggest if you are more on trail riding, Exhange this for 130mm pike. Difference of SID over Pike is just the weight. Who cares 300 grams heavier. It matters if you are riding an hour riding uphill. I choose rockshox fork over Fox. 🤘🏼

    • @MCMTB
      @MCMTB  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I ride with Pro XC riders, no mountains here, pure XC pain, I think Modern XC can Benefit lightweight 120mm sid, stay tuned, I'll be riding with Former Pros soon :)

      Fox 34 130mm would be good to.

    Probably just installing grease! I got a new fork that felt greasy. I could tell it was new because jut steerer tube hadn’t been cut and the fork wouldn’t get stiff until I rode it for a few days.

    There’s no worser feeling than waiting multiple days for a package and being so excited for it to come. all just to open it and be disappointed with it.
    That stuff just ruins my day☹️

      That's why I no longer have to work. Right now, I'm in north Thailand doing some winter racing away from the cold. What about you? BTW, take a look at the Light carbon L911, Looks a lot like your Trifox, except the rear axe frame design is more streamlined, and cost me $560 USD which is currently going for several hundred dollars less thanwhat they quoted me for a Trifox. Came shipped without a scratch in three weeks time to me while I was back in Colorado.
      Their carbon xc wheels are pretty sweet too. I bought a set of their 1233 gram featherweights with a DT swiss 240 hub build. They're going strong and no issuse after 6 months and so far three podiums in 3 xc races . I'm only 65 kilos so can't honestly recommend them to heavier riders. They were only $859 bucks. I got some quotes by carbon wheelbuilders in the US for xc wheelsets and all were over $1100 and a couple hundred more than that using 240 hubs. I've got photos from the bike in racing here if you car to see get me an email address and Ill send your way.
