I have the same code and changed the sensor with a NTK sensor 3 months ago and now 3 months later I’m getting the same code . Could it be the sensor?
How many miles dose the car have?

Thanks a lot, fam. I just ordered both sensors. Got the denso they were reasonably priced. Hopefully this will take care of the issue. Codes I’m getting are p0172 and p0420. Do you think it could possibly be a manifold gasket leak that’s causing this in the first place or just a faulty o2 sensor?
I would replace the sensor down stream also u have to fix the leak in manifold gasket
Hey I had the code 40420 show up a couple of days ago and than it the check engine was gone two later, the next day the p0304 code came on while driving and check engine light was flashing and car seemed like it didn't want to accelerate, cut the car off went to clock in came came back drove around the parking lot with no problem, what could it be
Did u scan the car flashing means heavy misfire
@@RBTheMechanic yes I just did says misfire cylinder 3

Where's the link to the part number?
I don’t but stuff online so no link

@@superflyboog5887 p0420 is catalytic hopefully sensors do the trick other wise u need new catalytic converter
So just the downstream? I have an ‘09 Accord.
Yup also u can throw some fuel injection cleaner in to ur fuel tank that would help clean out converter
Do I have to change the whole catalytic converter or just the 2 sensors?
First change the sensor downstream only and reset the light

So only replacing the downstream sensor is enough? Is the top one needed too?
Only down
Thanks for confirming. Why is this repair so expensive at a dealership? The downstream sensor is about $40-$50 and a new cat online is about $150-$300 (generic parts). The effort to fix this issue seems pretty simple. Yet the dealership charges $2400 a mechanic charges about $1400. What am I missing here?
@@davidtrejo7509 yeah they r expencive just make sure u get correct emission catalytic if u replace it urself
My code came back on after new sensors (both US/DS) and a new aftermarket catalytic converter. I've checked with the dealer and Honda online for OEM parts. There is an unknown lead time for new cats. What can I do? Is it safe to continue driving?
Does this work for a 2014 honda accord 3.5 v6 or is this just for the 2.4??
This is for 4 cylinder but it will work for v6 also
@@RBTheMechanic thanks fam! Great info 💯
What about if u getting the rotten egg smell ? Do u think changing the 02 sensor would work ?
Ur getting from exghust or smell in side cabin from ac vents?

Is there a way to test the catalytic converter to see if it still functions? Cause I have that same code and when I slowly accelerate it pulls back or also feels like it hesitates. After 2nd and 3rd gear it rides normal. So I'm not sure if it's the catalytic converter, o2 sensor or even the transmission. What do you think?
U have to check the performance of the sensors sensors is what give u feed back of the catalytic but that’s the issue what if they r feeding ur scan tool wrong information so step one is this
I had the same problem Saul with my 2017 accord I thought it was the transmission turns out that was the high pressure fuel pump which slowly goes and then it'll completely c*** on out on your eventually it's like a $500 part
Did u figure out what was the problem? my car is doing the same and can’t get a diagnosis
@@lizmartinez4564 I fixed the code by replacing the catalytic converter. but I still feel a slight hesitation when accelerating like a hick up. I think it’s most definitely the transmission, so I’m just living with it. By the way I have a 2013 Honda accord sport. Maybe it’s the age and mileage that’s wearing down on my car’s transmission, it would make sense if your car has the same problem.
@@saulgoodman3994 one or both cats?..there’s 2 …and how many miles??…I have a 2013 lx with 161k ..since I might have to do a cat replace.

They part department will help u with that just make sure u give them the vin number so u get correct part
Dos this fix work for a 2004 Honda V6? It also has a P2195 code.
That’s bank 1 lean I would replace the bank 1 upstream oxygen sensor

Good afternoon, would this work for a 2016 crv?
Diffrent set up but yes
So basically might as well try it before buying a cat ? And why do you have to change then why can’t you use the same one that were already there
With new catalytic u should put new sensors
Hi, I've been working on this problem for about 7 months now, but I have not replaced the downstream O2 sensor yet.
How many people tried this fix and was successful? Thank you. Thank you, RB.
I have 90% of the cars under 90k miles fixed by just sensor replacement
Wow! Mine is 160k miles, so it could go either way.
So I accidentally put too much motor oil and I’m assuming that’s causing that code to pop up. It’s causing my car to shake and hard to stir. what might be the cause or issue?

Good info. Tip: Take better aim with the camera. It would have been nice to get a closeup of the tab on the connector and the crud on the tip of the old sensor.
Yeah next time will do so
Lmao he says “see that” while you can’t see it whatsoever but yes good info I’m gonna do just the sensors first on my Acura before I do anything with the cat it only has 134k miles and I notice no loss of performance/clogged exhaust symptoms so I assume it’s the sensor
