    Good info thanks. Tip: Could see what you were doing but when describing turn directions, it is clearer if you utilize the terms 'clockwise' and 'counter-clockwise'. Safe riding.

    I'm the exact same weight at 5'6, I ride a WR250F converter for supermoto and it's not bad at all with warp 9s on... I also have a YZ450F and it's like riding a hose because I can barely tip toe on it.

    Its tuff when your like me and never had never learned how to tune/adjust a suspension, even though the wr supposedly has a so so suspension to start with, you still can tune it i just have to like you look it up and go from there,

    • @MotoStrikerUnit7
      @MotoStrikerUnit7  9 ปีที่แล้ว

      +gearjunky thats the hardest part, you need some where to start from or your kinda swimming in circles

    I turned the forkall the way in. Then I read the manual it said max 14-15 in or something. Do you think I was at risk of damaging the fork?

    Hi, I am a 5'7" 150lb rider, my WR has a yama lowering link in. what would be good suspensions settings for me?

    • @MotoStrikerUnit7
      @MotoStrikerUnit7  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      dont get lowering kit it mass's with the bike to much you will get used to it , yeah the clicks will work but the sag will be a little different look up video to find out how to cheack sag

  • @user-wr3gp8hj3i
    @user-wr3gp8hj3i 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    What settings would you suggest for a rider about 5’10” 180 mostly fast riding with mild trails? (You didn’t leave the link is description like you said lol).
    Literally just got the bike today, not quite ready to throw the dirt at her just yet lol. Will adjust again when I do but...
    Problem is that I bought it used from a much smaller person and I believe their settings are completely off for me.
    Also, it has the YamaLink lowering link for rear shock. Not sure how “low” it is from stock as this is the only one I’ve ever seen in person.

      try this but the sag would probably be higher like 5 threads showing , i ride pretty fast on road on do trials also she still a little finicky in the rear but all good from what you can get with stock equipment , yeah i would get ride of lowering link and reset all settings to stock p.s sorry its not in discrip hope this hleped

      lowering link is one inch lower you dont need it it will trow off bike too :/

  • @nsxproperties560
    @nsxproperties560 5 ปีที่แล้ว

    Is that bike easy to wheelie in 2nd gear going like 15 mph? I have a Suzuki Dr200 and the thing sucks for wheelies. Did you try putting a lowering link in. I want to learn about how to lower the bike before buying the bike.

    • @MotoStrikerUnit7
      @MotoStrikerUnit7  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      yes this bike will wheelie in 1 2 and 3 rd with clutch up power wheelie a little in 2 not much not i advise not going with lower link it changes the balance of the bike to much everything will be off ...... putting race sag on probably lowers it about an 1in or so also a broken in sup is lower then new you will get use to it have seen people who are 5 ,5 ride them well

    what setup are you using right now? Is it after 4:50 in the video? I got my bike today. The bike wont even move a bit when I sat on it. I am 120 pounds without any gear. Thank you.

    • @MotoStrikerUnit7
      @MotoStrikerUnit7  8 ปีที่แล้ว

      +Ron Li this is different then what your looking for, this is how your sup reacts to the train and your weight but it will be a big improvement to riding. i have to find what settings is on mine but this is what your looking for th-cam.com/video/Gayi1ZMRNog/w-d-xo.htmlm40s watch this on the wr250r its the same you do not need to do any measuring because your about the same weight as me basically just move the spring up so that 6 rings or about an inch of tread are showing no less then that up it will still be high but now when you sit on it it when go in to racing sag so 3.5 in lower after this you just have to get use to positions on the bike as the bike will still be high but you need it to be high for it to be functional. it was the worst for me i cant remember how many times i fall after this i got used to it, just do this and keep riding. i will get back to you when i find my sup clicks

    • @MotoStrikerUnit7
      @MotoStrikerUnit7  8 ปีที่แล้ว

      +Ron Li you don't know how lucky you just got ^^, i found the settings the original post by the guy has been deleted
      1/4 - 3/8" of threads on sag or 6 threads showing
      [Front]
      compression 12
      rebound 8
      [Back]
      compression 12
      rebound 6
      The best setting for 125-140 pounds rider.
      but you my went to change it a little keep in mind this is all ratio so it will become fonkly in some way if you change one and not the others. also this is off road setup soft sup good for up to 35 mph anything higher hitting a bump like on road will feel bad.

      +MotoStrikerUnit Thank you soooo much :D. I figure the suspension needs to adjust after I got the bike home. Dealership is about 80 miles away from me. Tried to get some help through phone, didnt workout for me how ever. I got a friend read this for me and help me finished all this. Since I am new to motorcycle, actually this is my first bike :). The bike felt much much better. Thanks again :D.

    • @MotoStrikerUnit7
      @MotoStrikerUnit7  8 ปีที่แล้ว

      +Ron Li yeah my dealer is like 25 miles away, don't go to them much, like working on my bike for most things just look up videos and don't tighten things to much, and you will be able to work on your bike too ^^. i had the bike for a year before i did this to it lol what a year that was ~.~. if you have an owners Manuel read it, if you go off roading or just ride far its good to know how to fix or know whats wrong with the bike if something happens. congratulations very good chose for a first bike ^^, i was so happy the day i Changed it look at th-cam.com/video/JdiGCK69WaY/w-d-xo.html that's my reactions to the settings. sorry that the video was a little confusing. if you have any other Qs shot me a message and i will get back to you as soon as possible ^^ Fall Softly

    Hey dude, how tall are you? I'm a simlar weighth to you and I tried the WR250R today and couldnt even stand it up! Way too tall for me. I'm doing some research into the Yamalink shortening links .

    • @MotoStrikerUnit7
      @MotoStrikerUnit7  8 ปีที่แล้ว

      like 5'10" its hard to start on you get used to it though, you have to sit side ways and turn wheel also this helps, dont do the lowering kit, adjust the suspension and ride it for a mouth

    • @WhatMACHI
      @WhatMACHI 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      I'm 5'6''... so quite a bit shorter than you. Realistically i would need to lower it at least 1.5-2 inches otherwise i wont be able to stand it up :P
      But if i do get one, i'll do as little lowering as possible and ride it around for a bit.

    • @MotoStrikerUnit7
      @MotoStrikerUnit7  8 ปีที่แล้ว

      yeah a lot shorter XD, believe it or not all the people i know, male around my age are taller then me lol, for me with adjustments and good positioning i could have both feet almost flat on ground you should be able to get comfortable on it, its a great bike perfect 50/50 off/on, but a little more off if you ask me. as close to a dirt bike with a plate that you can get, full adjustable Suspension is another big point to the bike, if you go for another bike like the wr there Suspension is static. only a few things you need to do to the wr to make it run nice. I got the wr as my first bike with only a MSF course of riding, i fell over so many times including right after buying it X.x , its okay though the bikes might to take a beating and tell the tail , if you do get it get handguards first so when it falls and it is, your controls don't brake the only weak point of the bike ^^

    • @WhatMACHI
      @WhatMACHI 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      Wow, you guys must a tall bunch. Yeah one of the reasons this type of bike caught my eye was the fact it could take a beating or get dropped without having to replace a whole bunch of fairings.
      Thanks for the tips!
