Tiktok could be severely cleaned up, however, we could insist that if they're going to operate here at all, they need to alter the algorithm to push actual useful information to the million of children blindly absorbing their current trash heap of unconscionable content.
Meanwhile they push STEM style educational videos to their children. Food for thought.

While TikTok needs a massive user base from USA, they really depend on it and the reason TikTok got so popular in the first place was thanks to USA market share, I am not saying others don’t matter but US has large population and large user base so more profit, that’s how Snapchat, Meta and other companies actually succeeded, I don’t think Snapchat and Meta apps are as popular in other countries as they are in the USA. Using device to enforce the ban would not work. Recently, a state university had an official ban of Tiktok, however users just switched device or switched wifi to 5G, and made the ban ineffective. Then what's the ban or sale of the company? To really ban it, one has to do what China does, establish a national firewall, and say goodbye to freedom of speech and privacy. Even China cannot do it 100%, people use VPN and proxy cities to get over the national wall of cyber security.

TikTok is only being "addressed" because legacy social media companies are threatened by the competition. As the userbase for Facebook, Twitter, and other major social media sites slows, having another social network pop in and take up the time of their potential (and younger) users is a danger to them. If these legacy networks want us to stop using TikTok and other newer social networks, then they need to innovate and do things better instead of trying to stifle new players.
