- Hi I'm Matt, in this video I am replacing a front wheel bearing and the front brake discs and pads on my Vauxhall Vectra C.
this is done in real time using basic hand tools and a newly purchased wheel bearing removal tool that works really well.
I enjoyed this slower paced work on my drive working on a nice sunny day.
thanks for watching.
Nice work Matt...Hub buster worked a treat 👍
It's an enjoyable way to remove a hub. Very impressive tool. Cheers Matt
That hub buster is quite the tool, I saw another video where the guy used a trolly jack with it, didn't look too safe 🤣🤣 nice work buddy...
When it comes to axle stands, the more the merrier. I was impressed with how easy the hub came off. Cheers Matt
Congratulations, I don't have that hub removal tool. I'm going fucking crazy on my Saab. Been banging on it for hours today, it sits just as solid as when I started.
This tool has been great on cars. I used it on my transit van and although it did the job, I don't think it's made for commercial vehicles
Good to see someone else uses ceramic grease, fed up seeing dinosaurs using copper grease
Some people will never change. Thanks for watching
Still see some using it in the sliders! 🙄
Where's Dave Sterl when you need him, to give you a hand! 😂
Hi Matt thanks for the vid.A question if you could answer it please for me.I have just done both front wheel bearings on my vectra c .When i was putting my driveshaft back in the hub and into the new bearing i smeared bearing grease on the driveshaft to stop any further rusting in the hub if i need to remove again anytime. Is this ok or would it effect the abs sensor .Hope not as all fitted .Thanks in advance.
That's a good idea, it shouldn't cause you any problems with your ABS. Cheers Matt
@@mechanicmatt871 Thanks Matt was worried that putting grease on the axel shaft might cause an issue .
Hub buster is brutal but effective.
I'm really impressed with it so far, cheers Matt
have u moved Matt?
clearly impact driver best friend on this jobs.
Happy days as the weather on your side.
Oh yeah i definitely prefer working in the sun. Still not moved yet thanks for watching
👌how are you liking your vectra Matt?
👍🍻Matt Where to buy this instrument for removing the hubs
Hi, please tell me something, is the Opel Vectra C rusting underneath? How does it resist rust on the thresholds? Thank you!
It is getting rusty underneath, however for the age it is not that bad. Sometimes when it is already rusty you just let it rust. Cheers Matt
The pre facelift Vectra C's were better rust protected
