It's not only about her English or accent thing, but her speech and interview this time about politics could hardly ever be done by any other celebrities. This is what makes her so different.
I don't comment much but gosh this girl truly earns my respect. I admire her very much. Not only she is beautiful, but also she can sing; she can dance; she can play piano; she shows her intelligence and positive attitude in many interviews I've watched, and she has a pretty firm knowledge of the world. She has deep understanding of things in life. She seems polite & careful (in choosing words during interviews)...and she is ONLY 23 years old!!! The maturity level for her age is unbeatable. I don't know why people criticized her so much. I really wish her doing well in all aspects she chooses!
I feel bad that the public has such high expectations of her just because she is a 10A student and a Cambridge graduate and all. I don’t think anything is wrong with her oral speaking skills since it is not her first language... she displays such a elegant and intellectual image! It’s rare!
As a fresh graduate with little working experience, she did very well. Her responses were sincere and authentic. Plus, we cannot expect a near-native tongue from her (she have stayed in Cambridge for 3 years after 18, not 20 years, right?). For one thing, her accent and fluency are excellent, better than many local English teachers and much better than most, if not all, Secretaries and senior government officials, including Carrie Lam.
She seems nice and has a valid point of view, but she is very hesitant at her public speaking ! Considering she went to cambridge law school I would have expected her to have better oratory skills.
The last question is very difficult to respond. Answer it wrongly and you could easily get into trouble. Although she looked hesitant but she managed to pull it off in a diplomatic manner trying to avoid addressing which side she supports
I guess being a person that is attached to special interests (TVB) and among other things, she doesn't assertively say things that would put her on the side of supporting the democracy movement nor the communist party. Conflicts of interest. But I really wanted her to elaborate more on her answers. Not only for the sake of showcasing her delivery, vocabulary and knowledge, but the depth of her thinking. Hopefully another interview in English will allow her to show off more. And yeah way too skinny!
Hong Kong already have affordable home. It is called PUBLIC HOUSING. What we need are temple finance hostels for the cubicle or homeless in Hong Kong. 🤣

Her speech content is really detailed as well as professional
She is so amazing! The way she thinks is quite unique, I couldn’t agree more. She truly earns my respect.

She has good command of english
As a hongkonger , her level of English is very high indeed.
People put too much emphasis on accent. The most important thing is her content.

she still carries a HK accent in her English.

LIBERATE HONG KONG! REVOLUTION OF OUR TIMES! 5 DEMANDS - NOT 1 LESS!!
she needs to work on her makeup =p
Oh my days... her accent is appalling for a Cambridge alumni. I guess she didn’t mingle much with the locals then.
Queenie Cheng agree. Many of friends from hk who were there for 4 years speaks better than her. She is struggling with the language
