- Paramilitaries from one of Sudan's warring factions have broken into a number of jails and released prisoners. The freed detainees include suspected war criminal Ahmed Haroun. The International Criminal Court accuses him of crimes against humanity.
There are reports of sporadic fighting from the capital Khartoum on the second day of a three-day truce. Thousands of residents of the city have been fleeing to neighboring countries. A warning: some viewers may find images in our next report disturbing.
The 72-hour ceasefire agreement in Sudan has provided an opportunity for many countries to undertake mass evacuations by road, air and sea. This includes Germany, which has now ended its evacuation operation after helping more than 700 people flee the country - including around 200 German citizens, according to the German Defence Ministry.

True. Africa, unfortunately is just too fractured. You have countries smaller than states in the US, and for some reason or another they can't get along. If Africa was as united as the US, I think we would see a new superpower. Although, that will probably never happen

Who created the two wings of Army with different commands? Army should be integrated in one chain of command that not even the general can order them without the head of state direct order.

@@awatifsabry8875 So sad ikhwan, Al Bashir ruled that Country as personal property. But the Army should have been forced to call for democratic election and constitutional change. The election should be conducted every 5 years and Presidential term should be limited to 2 terms and no more than 2 term. When you call for constitutional change you guys make sure that you propose constitution that cannot be changed unless you get around 3 million signatures in order to amend then goes to referendum. This is the only thing helped Country like Kenya to maintain peace even though sometimes we have selfish leaders who cannot accept he lost the election fairly but look for someone to blame and demand a shared deal. But at least we have the constitution to protect us from power hungry tyrants.
