Fantastic video! One little thing, the translation for Gonnun Sogi Heycho Makgi reads as a walking stance fingertip thrust instead of a wedging block :)
Thanks for posting these. I've been trying to relearn the forms for a few years. But I think my school taught it differently. I remember punching before the front kicks.
To Grabir01. You clearly don't know ITF TaeKwonDo. She is excellent. I have studied for over thirty years in the martial arts (including 12 years in ITF). I have trained with Master instructors who have won national titles in form competitions. I don't doubt that they would agree with my assessment that she is very good. Don't get me wrong there are some awful videos out there where the martial artists don't have a clue what they are doing or why. I would be curious to know where you have studied and what you consider to be good ITF TaeKwonDo. Technically she is right on point and I would hate to see some junior student question her ability due to your erroneous remarks.
Todd Broyard I agree, she’s amazing, the patterns beautiful, if I had to be picky, I’d say the flow of her timing is inconsistent, but she’s probably slowed it down so people looking it up can follow. Thanks for uploading this
correct me if i'm wrong, but before the the back fist, you have to retreat your front leg then make the turn, otherwise (in a real fight) you move to much forward to your opponent, if your retreat your front leg you keep the same distance
It is possible that this is the difference between the 'art' side and 'combat' side. If you are punching someone, you want to be close enough to land the punch and have momentum on your side I would have thought. I may be wrong - about to take my Green Belt grading test soon!
+Jessey Ploeger "...otherwise (in a real fight)..." You don't do a kata/hyung/form in a "real fight"; they aren't "what if" scenarios. The purpose of forms is conditioning and to build certain neuromuscular pathways.
If I pass my next grading for yellow belt and green stripe, I'll end up learning this for green bel, but the next grading will probably fall while we're on Holiday at Easter.
Hi, Correct me if i'm wrong, But isn't Hechyo Makgi Wedging block ? You have put Gunnun Sogi Hechyo Makgi (walking stance fingertip thrust) Fingertip thrust is Sun sonkut Tulgi If i'm wrong apologies and i take my hat off to you Miss Julia, but if I'm right you owe me a kiseu ? Please let me know, and thanks in advance
the upper arms should be 45 degrees from the torso and the angle between the forearms and bicep area should also be at 45 degrees as must be the blocking area for maximum effect
Thank you very much for making these videos, Ma'am. They show everything so clearly and I particularly appreciate the slow motion section.
I really enjoy coming back to you time after time. Your videos are spot on for breaking everything down. Thanks for what you do.

Hi from Argentina, I always see your videos, they are excellent to refine technique deeply.
You are the best to watch and follow - so good its done front, back and a definite ++++++ that its in slo-mo - thank you
Thank you for this :) I will have a competition tomorrow in Do San Tul so this was really helpful

Muito bom, principalmente em câmera lenta, auxilia muito no detalhe nos cruzamentos!
Como se llama el movimiento después del sun sunkut tulgi y antes del giro en coreano?

You are correct.
I passed this last week!
I know this pattern! This is the third pattern that I learned!
Thank you for the demonstration maam.
thank you so much this really helped me :) !
This is great!
Gunnun Sogi Hechyo Kackgi is Walking Stance, 'Wedging Block' not Walking Stance Fingertip Thrust as labelled here.
in wedging block the knuckles should be level with the shoulder
Also I am thinking that the upper arms and elbows need to be slightly closer to guarding the ribs maybe.
the upper arms should be 45 degrees from the torso and the angle between the forearms and bicep area should also be at 45 degrees as must be the blocking area for maximum effect
yes
The Wedging Blocks in Do-San are high, so the knuckles should be eye height.
This helps! Thank you~
Muy bueno!
