I like how the narrator is far scarier outside of the game. Makes you think even more critically. The end is never the end (after all) is never the end is never the end. . .
+Buster Bunny (MarbalTm) their is the main narrator whose names are as follows The Narrator, Instructor, Kevin something Then there's that other one no one cares about that probably created the confusion endi-HUH DID I JUST FIGURE OUT THE HIDDEN SECRET!?!?!
I remember when I watched this for the first time ever and thought "This must be madness." Now, one game and five watches later, all I can say is that this trailer is the only thing that makes sense anymore.
I love how these trailers present the most ridiculous setpieces in the game so seriously. This is the whole area with the adventure line while he's wandering around.
If there's ever another hijacking of a TV broadcast in the history of humankind, I want the message to be voiced by Kevan Brighting in-character as the narrator of The Stanley Parable. The culmination of meta humor would be phenomenal.
I think 1:43 is quite powerful. Chilled goes from being outsider playing the game to being part of the game itself. Notice how he goes from talking about 'Stanley' to being Stanley himself ("Tell me why I'm in this hallway!") Can't wait for this!
The Narrator: ..Do you know anything this man?Do you know anything about him?... Me: He is Chilled Chaos and he's a victim of the traitorous Seananners. That's all I know.
@@Sonichero151 Okay, the Narrator is definitely disturbed by a margin, but he can never be Bugs Bunny changing the backdrop repeatedly on Daffy, then changing his ENTIRE DESIGN into something outlandish, then putting him in a plane only to take away both the plane AND his Parachute, maintaining his anonymity all the way through! :D And honestly, STILL better than when Elmer Fudd got a chance to give "dat squewy wabbit" a taste of his own medicine. ;)
I'm still stunned by how the narrator's voice can go from calm and gentle to more of stern and borderline insulting tone, and finally to a satirical and sinister tone all in a matter of seconds. I can't wait to play this.
Suspicious Flaming Pyro you do realize, he is an actual youtuber? and his channel is criousgamers? cause, he also played both the original and the hd stanley parable, along with a lot of stuff.
Suspicious Flaming Pyro He actually did do a real Lets Play of this game. Thing is, I was half-expecting to see that it was nothing but a scarecam of Chilled hanging himself in his own room, muttering how he must never go back and that _he_ can't make him...!
stanley parable so wonderfully conveys "Devil" , the situation you absolutely cannot escape, there is no way out, you try and try, but ultimately things are more out of order after you try everything.
The Narrator at the end there reminds me of two people: 1. Rod Serling at the beginning of every old Twilight Zone episode. 2. The Ghost Host from the Haunted Mansion ride. O_o
The reason why The Stanley Parable's storytelling is so unique and incredibly awesome is because it 'knows' you are the player and not someone observing a character in its story. By watching a Let's Play you lose that connection because you're watching another player, so the story and its commentary will be lost because you become the observer again (observing the LPer) instead of the player you should be. But mostly because LPers will talk over the Narrator's amazing voice.
I got Really Really Nervous and paranoid when the narrator took over the video...also a little guilty and ashamed even though I wasn't laughing at Chilled.
You mean running back and forth a dozen times before something changes? That would be boring, and anyone who didn’t watch the trailer would be confused, and everyone who did watch the trailer would wish they could just skip it.
I kinda like how most LPers LP'd this game anyway despite this trailer making fun of them. They unintentionally made them themselves the punchline here.
That was so chilling, so deep. This is how you do suspense. No need for an evil hospital, or an ancient ghost haunting a run down house. Just hallways. A journey. Alone.
Just the best trailers. I love that atmospheric and tonal flavour in the background - the one you get can feel in the still spaces between the words and at the end. It's what makes things seem to have an eternal weight. Like in "How to disappear Completely" by Radiohead for instance. :) Anyway, I know the game itself will be more about the humour and can just be appreciated on that level, but there'll also be the philosophy and that tone will be lurking behind the scenes too, I reckon.
Tho he did say "Soon we will see if your friends turn and laugh at u". But i do agree, Oh this game has that sort of chill that makes you wanna laugh haha. I love it.
Brilliant trailer, didn't know this mod was getting a full version but I'm extremely fucking excited now. Glad more and more games are getting full versions, more and more good ideas to flourish more. c:
thats ok for me. I liked the first a lot. This guy really deserves it. I remember writing the dev an email after playing his mod and he actually replied, which was cool :D
I love the parts in Amnesia where you jump off an edge into a hole in the floor and launch out another hole placed on a wall somewhere to escape the mansion.
If I recall Antichamber was announced far, far in advance of Stanley Parable, and there was even a beta out for it, it just took a while to complete the full version.
Oh the pleasantries have only just begun Mr Narrator, I shall play your little game. And you know what? I may actually enjoy it. To walk around those same halls again, to defy you in EVERY WAY POSSIBLE. Yes... I'm going to enjoy this.
Generally I watch let's plays after I completed a game myself, to get another person's take and insight on the game, and compare it with my own, and maybe develop a whole new understanding of what the game means.
That…was amazing. I want to play this NOW. NOW, dammit, NOW! Reminds me of Antichamber with all the thing changes and fucking with your head… So as soon as he said he was gonna go back to his hallway I knew it was gonna have changed. XD
Antichamber is a puzzle game, The Stanley Parable is a narrative-driven game. It isn't entirely conveyed in the trailer, but there's a pretty big difference between the two games.
"I've no idea where Valve Time got that from, we've developed this out of pocket so far and we very much intend to charge for the game! The game contains about 3 times as much content as the original, but we've intended much of it to be hidden, seen in different quantities by different people, so that each player's experience is unique!" - One of the lead devs
I like how the narrator is far scarier outside of the game. Makes you think even more critically. The end is never the end (after all) is never the end is never the end. . .
The Stanley Parable narrator vs. Glados. Make it happen, game industry!
There were two narrators, although the other was only used in the museum ending.
+Buster Bunny (MarbalTm) their is the main narrator whose names are as follows
The Narrator, Instructor, Kevin something

This game is basically what staring into the eyes of an elder God does to someone
Narrator : "Yes you, sitting there. What have you gained?"
Me : ".....Weight."
Heil Hotwire OMFG I WAS AT THAT MOMENT AND I STARTED READ THIS COMMENT WEN IT STARTED SAYING « Yes you, sitting there. What have you gained? »

That could've been a great publicity stunt for Ultra Deluxe
It would probably cause a "War of the Worlds broadcast" level nation wide panic

Best. Trailer. Ever.
I know.
Am I the only one who would actually like to see a Chilled Chaos Let's Play?

"Ah, but there's a twist"
*shows a cut off staircase*
Regardless of how this game's full release goes, I will always give props to these guys: They know how to make a trailer.
I like how the second half of this is just the adventure line path without the line.
Watching this again for old time's sake, I hadn't sighed out in such true happiness for a long time... Bless this game
stanley parable so wonderfully conveys "Devil" , the situation you absolutely cannot escape, there is no way out, you try and try, but ultimately things are more out of order after you try everything.
Oh goodnes. This is unsettling.
This game needs a fucking sequel
oh the irony
what if there was a bucket in the sequel? that would be cool i think

1. Rod Serling at the beginning of every old Twilight Zone episode.
2. The Ghost Host from the Haunted Mansion ride. O_o
I was thinking Mr. Gone from the animated version of the Maxx
JoyStar Oh man, totally!
Is it weird that I can foresee a conversation between the Narrator and GLaDOS as being something that'd both be terrifying and utterly awesome?
This blew my mind.
Ah yes, the original backrooms
i like how the trailer makes you change your perspective of what the game is
this was great. I felt like the narrator was talking to me, a causal TH-cam let's play watcher. I felt called out
this narrator shows the power of voice and words very well. It is very influencing.
Thanks Chilled Chaos. Very cool.
this is my favorite trailer. this and Raphael... and how video games are made...
I just finished watching, and there weren't even any shoes.

Danny Caracciolo what? Because of the narrator dropping implications that the only reason people watch his content is because they low-key hate him?
Why is this part not in the game?
It's a developement thingy...
You gotta' admit it would be cool though
it would've been not as cool. None of the promotional material actually was in any of the game other than like two second snaps.
Maybe its a part of the adventure line map
You mean running back and forth a dozen times before something changes? That would be boring, and anyone who didn’t watch the trailer would be confused, and everyone who did watch the trailer would wish they could just skip it.
The voice that is not Kevan is how I imagine Stanley to sound like.
I kinda like how most LPers LP'd this game anyway despite this trailer making fun of them. They unintentionally made them themselves the punchline here.
I counted 27 lights... maybe 28... 30!
Funny that a mock LP video designed to jab at LPs in general was 100 times more amusing than 99% of Let's Players out there now.
I love every video this guy puts out. I would pay money just to hear Kevan Brighting talk about stuff.
Can't wait for those walk-through walls. I hope they're ready in time for the release.
That was sincerely creepy. Whoever made the Stanley Parable is a goddamn genius.
And I thought G-man was freaky..
That was so chilling, so deep.

I am now looking forward to October even more. :)
I would love to have the trailer maps in Gmod. someone years back ported the official maps in Gmod and it was pretty fun and awesome.
At the end of the demo when you start rapidly changing rooms, you can walk through the wall. They threw in a bunch of easter eggs like that.
We've reached a level of meta where i can no longer comprehend anything at all
I actually really want to watch Chilled play through this game when it comes out...
3:20 I have gained knowledge on the new Stanley parable game that I have been waiting for
So glad it'll be available on mac
I enjoy how reasonable and even tempered this appears to me.

I wonder what this build of the game is like.
The game should have a special room with monitors streaming random let's plays of the game from youtube or twitch. Meta recursion!
i remember when i was like 10 i thought about getting the game but this trailer made me to scared so i didn’t get it till wayy later
My body could never be more ready.
Can't wait to play this! :D
This game really makes me think about who I am as a human being.
Hmm... did ChilledChaos do a LP of the actual game, I wonder?
Well, you see, that was Chilled's fault because he tried to play The Stanley Parable. You don't play The Stanley Parable.
Yeah I am experiencing significant levels of hype right now.
love the narrator voice
